It never made it

This is a card I made for a dear friend that has never arrived. I do hope it finds its way there at some point because she never got a birthday card from me and that makes me sad.

I used my new Altenew window sphere die with some flowers to decorate around it. The flower centers are from my embellishment drawer and the sentiment is from a Waffle Flower set.

I made a chicken salad yesterday. It turns out they would rather have grains.

Let the paper talk

That's what is happening on this card. I love Paper Rose and I used paper from Bees & Butterflies Basics and a butterfly from the Quick Cards Die Cuts added to a green scalloped circle. It is an easy card to make and on days when I can't get going I feel good about just being able to make a card. It makes me happy to create.

I will pop over to NBUS and add this card.

My dentist said I needed a crown. And I was like I know, right?

Another new to me technique

I recently saw this online and wanted to try it. I love the way it turned out and wanted to share. I'm always so far behind new things so you probably already do this but here goes.

I used kraft cardstock and swiped white Apple Barrel white acrylic paint over the cardstock with a dry sponge. Then, the same thing with red Avery Elle pigment ink. That leaves you with stripes of ink and paint over the cardstock. I used a Crafter's Companion embossing folder to emboss the panel. The next step was rubbing over the raised design with my finger using gold metallic ink. Then, again with copper metallic ink. By using the red pigment ink and rubbing over it with copper, I lost the red color but the shine is beautiful. I saw this on Eastwicks paper and ink.

I would like to add this card to I.D.E.A.S.

If you're happy and you know it, it's your meds.

A first for me

This is so far out of my normal I don't recognize myself! Making a Christmas card in July is unheard of for me. I don't start until after Thanksgiving. The CAS Christmas Card Challenge is back and I need to start my cards earlier to avoid stress.

This card uses a wood block stamp from Image Tree and I've had it forever. I colored it with Copics and added Stickles to the star and pom pom on his hat. If that's not using enough "old" products I used Fun Flock in gray for the snowflakes. They don't show up very well but it adds texture. Let it Snow is Stampin' Up.

I missed a great sale at the pet store yesterday. It was buy one dog, get one flea.

Hello July

June is gone and things are looking up. Daisy wore her fentanyl patch for three days and is almost finished with her pain meds. Pictures of her below. She is back to normal and I hope she doesn't re-injure herself. After two weeks of sleeping on the couch and loveseat we are back in bed and it is wonderful.

I am waiting for some medicine they are calling into a specialty pharmacy and I haven't heard a word. I think it fell through the cracks with the holiday. I am better but did start coughing yesterday. I have an appointment soon to address several things.

My grandson was home over the fourth and this is the birthday card I made him. I saw the technique from Sherrie Parker and wanted to try it. She was showing a different thumping method but I used the fold from the video.  I used an old Stampin' Up golf stamp set and their paper too. Very easy and it didn't stress me out! Grandson was so impressed!

I hope you are all safe if you are having the heat we are having here. Also, so many storms and flooding. Stay in and craft.

I am not always a couch potato. Right now I am a chair potato and tonight I will be a bed potato.

Can't wait

for this month to be over. I've been sick all month and Daisy is in pain and on her meds. I got confusing information from the Doctor when I went in on June 1st and am not taking the right medicine and not getting better. Called today and can't see him before July 8th! Booked, then on vacation. I have a call in.

Then Daisy started yelping when she jumped starting on the 15th of June. Took her to ER vet and they gave her anti inflammatory and pain meds. I have to take her back for x-rays to see if she has a tumor or arthritis. I've been sleeping on the couch since she can't get on the bed. I'm miserable and she's confused!

Long story I haven't been doing much of anything. I miss crafting and starting back again. Seems like that's been my MO for a long time.

This card used a Gina K Petite Flourish embossing folder and an old die from Stampin' Up called Flourish Thinlits.  I colored the die with Copics and found some of my Copics are drying out. Embossed the greeting and cut with a SU punch. Really got into the older stuff that needs some forgotten love.

I know my dog loves me but if I had a squeaker in me she'd gut me like a fish.

Can't be June

I can't keep up with the time passing so fast. It is a sign of getting older I guess. I always heard my parents say how fast time was going when I couldn't wait for my birthday or Christmas that seemed so far away. I missed out posting on Monday, my usual day, because I finally went to the Dr. I wasn't getting better like I thought I should be and turns out I am now on antibiotic for a month. I've never had one that long so we'll see. Just need to get my lungs cleaned out and that should do it. But, it will be over quick!

This is a card I made for my friend that comes to craft with me. I used an older Tim Holtz Sizzix die 660220 on the gold cardstock corner and added a piece of Paper Rose paper under it. The butterflies are Memory Box and the sentiment is from Spellbinders.

I am going to play in NBUS with this card.

I saw an audiologist the other day but I'm going to get another opinion. Why on earth would I need a heron egg.

Late, but celebrate Memorial Day

I want to thank every person who has served our country. This was a day to honor them and thank them for their service and to remember all those who did not make it home. Let us never forget.

I hope you all had a safe Memorial Day. The Race was safe and mostly rain free with a photo finish. So exciting. I spent the day on the couch watching the race and coughing. Had a setback with my breathing last week and have been taking it easy.

This is a Unity stamp I got for Christmas and I love it. Anytime you get stamps for a gift that is a major win! I stamped it in black and embossed with clear embossing powder, then colored it.

If you order an axe from France and have it shipped . . . you will have a foreign axe sent.

More flowers

I rarely make flower cards and this is my third in a row. Maybe it's spring inspiring me! I die cut the gold c/s with the flower die then added a curvy frame around the edge. The greeting is stamped in versamark ink and embossed with gold powder. Again, Stickles in the flower centers.

Getting old is not fun. I used to get up feeling like a million bucks. Now I feel more like a bounced check.

Another one

While I had this daisy die out I decided to make another card. I wish I could remember to make at least two cards each time I get everything out so I can mail one and keep another in case I need a card for something that comes up quick. I know other crafters do that and it's so wise. This time I used the same products as my last post but used pattern paper and ran it through an embossing folder. Pretty much the same as my last card otherwise.

Sometimes I buy a stamp set or die set and only, ever, use one stamp or die from the set and put it away and forget about it. Then I'll see something very similar and buy it. Duh.

I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday. I got to spend it with my sons and it was so much fun. They turned out pretty good!

They say money talks. All mine ever says is goodbye.

Not my dog, Daisy

These are daisies on a card. This is a card I made for my granddaughter in law using a daisy die. Just colored the stems and added a bit of color on the tips of the daisies and a bit of Stickles on the centers.

I had my patience tested. I'm negative.

I was the talk of the neighborhood

Earlier this month I woke up to this in my front yard. I opened the blinds and had to laugh. It is a yardsign honoring what would have been the 50th birthday for Alfie, the dog my sons grew up with. He was a wonderful dog and my oldest son felt like Alfie was his dog since he picked him out of the litter. At 8:45 am I got my first call from a neighbor asking if I changed my name and to wish me Happy Birthday! All through the day I got calls from neighbors with all kinds of questions. I had to explain it was for our dead dog's birthday. I expect the head of our HOA to give me a call soon. Hope I don't have to move. My oldest son had this put in my yard and this is not the first one he's done. I had one when Alfie would have turned 21 too. It had champagne glasses and streamers on it. Don't know where my kids get their sense of humor!

Golf season

It's golf season and that means we don't see the men in our family much over the weekends! This card is for my granddaughter's boyfriend. He has started playing since he started dating her. I used an older Stampin' Up set and also their paper for his card. Even the little sentiment is SU and punched out with one of their punches. I cut a circle from white c/s and ran it through an old Cuttlebug dotted embossing folder to create a golf ball for the sentiment to sit on. I don't know if you can see the dimples in the ball but they are there.

You know you're getting old when "friends with benefits" means someone who can drive at night.

One more Easter card

This card has a sweet bunny rub on and a Poppy Stamps Grand Stick Frame over it.

I have been mentioning how tired I am all the time with no energy. I recently had two Dr. visits, one with regular MD and one with my pulmonologist. I have been complaining about being tired and not being able to put the weight back on I lost when I was in the hospital. I'm sure most of you know I am on oxygen around the clock. Both doctors told me it takes a lot of energy and calories just for me to be able to breathe. I'm glad there is a reason but can't fix it. I eat well and sleep well and have been taking a nap in the afternoon. That doesn't leave a lot of time to do much else. I use my energy for things I have to do, then rest. I'm trying to pace myself and on days when I don't have to do laundry or other household chores, I try to make a card. I may start one on one day and finish it the next. The simple cards and rub ons have helped me make a card.  I appreciate you all staying with me and listening to me keep saying I'm tired. I don't have the breath to do my bike anymore and I miss that. Has anyone used one of those pedal machines that you just sit in a chair and pedal? I wonder if it helps strengthen your legs and is it good exercise? Please let me know because I'm thinking about getting one to get stronger. I'm sorry this is so long but I wanted you to know what's going on here.

I'll never get back to my original weight. I'm okay with that since 6 lbs. 6 oz. is not realistic.

Happy Easter

I hope you all enjoy this most wonderful holiday. I was hoping for bright sunshine and warm temperatures but it is not to be. Cloudy and 43 degrees. Maybe the sun will come out.

I embossed a lavender panel with a Sizzix Leaf Pattern embossing folder. The bunny is an embossed die cut from Paper Rose.  I added an arched panel over it.

I had a hen who could count her own eggs. She was a mathemachicken.

Bunny wishes

A sweet bunny just stamped in black and just a bit of color added Pattern paper for the mat and a foam heart added for love.

My 2nd post

Are you ready - my second post this week!  The snow from two days ago has melted and the sun is out today. Loving the mood it puts me in. I even seem to have a bit more energy today.

This is an image from a Unity kit of February, 2025. This sweet face kept calling me so I had to use it. Stamped it and colored with Copics and cut it out with a circle die. The pattern paper was embossed with a quilted folder and added to a card base.

A 72 hour hold in a psych unit is beginning to intrigue me as a potential vacation opportunity.

Moving on

Yep. Due to all the bad weather, I've moved on to Easter cards. But first...I will share my news and this card. My twin great grand daughters have arrived! They are healthy and mom and babies are doing fine. They were 6.9 lbs. and 5.8 lbs. and are home now. This is so exciting for our family and what a blessing. I made this quick card since they came a little sooner than we expected.

My favorite childhood memory is having energy!

Thank you

Sometimes we all need a little boost and I thank you for that. Your comments lifted me up and made me know I'm not alone. Something that's in your face on TV and online every single day just wears you out. I've read several books, stayed off daytime TV and off the internet for a while and I can tell you it makes a difference. I can't change the weather but I can stay in and make cards so that's a bonus for bad weather.

I have a few more Valentines to post even though I'm behind. This is a Unity stamp I got this year and it is so sweet. Very simple card but with heartfelt love.

I've decided I don't want kids. I'm telling them tonight at dinner.

An unintended break

I wish it wasn't so, but I'm tired. Maybe starting to feel my age or maybe the state of the world. I wish it didn't bother me but it does. Day after day, it drags me down. It's been so cold and now it's so gray. Rain every day until next Tuesday. Fog, chilly days. I'm tired. I want to make cards, I bought some new products that just sit there. Everything seems like so much work. I make myself do one big thing a day and sometimes that's all I can do. I sleep well and that's a blessing.

This card was made for a friend I made through stamping. I value all of you so much. This bouquet of flowers was sent to me by another blogging friend and I love it so much. She sent a hand full so you will see them again. I ran vellum through an embossing folder and added a scalloped frame.

Know the difference between humans and animals? Animals would never let the dumbest one lead the pack.

It's 49 degrees

I am beside myself today. The sun is out and it's 49 right now. Of course there is still snow piled everywhere but it will melt soon.

Thought I'd better post a Valentine since it's almost here. This is a card made with a slatted heart die on white c/s over a red cardbase. Nothing says love like a heart and I heart all of you, my sweet blog friends.

Due to inflation you can now eat food that has been on the floor for up to 7.3 seconds.

Still staying in

Since I'm still staying inside that means my driveway is slick again from icy snow pellets that fell again. That means I am not mailing anything out right now since I can't get to the mailbox. No bills coming in. It is supposed to warm up after this weekend and I can't wait. Groceries, haircut, fast food!

I made this card using a fold I saw on Pinterest. I used Paper Rose paper that I bought when I was in my frenzy buying spree. I don't know what greeting I will use so that is to be chosen when I use the card. I left white space for it.

I just discovered my electric toothbrush isn't waterproof. I was shocked!
