It seems impossible

that tomorrow is May already! Seriously, where is the time going? And snow, lots of snow in some parts of the country. I can't seem to wrap my mind around all this. Going back over my stash I realize that I got caught up in Christmas, Valentines and Easter cards and put aside just non holiday cards. So today's post is a twofer from a SU class.

We took about six q-tips and dipped them in orange, blue  and yellow inks. Then banded them together with rubber bands and stamped inside a larger circle. That is card #1. Then added some circles in the same colors and stamped the verse in the blue. For the second card we used the panel we cut the smaller circle from over the card with the sailboat scene on it. I stamped that sentiment in orange. Very cool way to make the colorful dots. I hope I explained that well.

My zoo twofer

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter day. We had a beautiful sunny day and lots of good eating and company.

My cards today are for the Twofer Card Challenge #15 featuring zoo animals. I don't have zoo animals so I had to go "down under" and visit their zoo.  I used Lawn Fawn stamps. I sponged clouds on the birthday card and stamped the images, then cut out a circle. Then all I did was match the frame and circle up and glued them together. I used the same stamp on a Penny Black frame and Lawn Fawn Santa hat with a sentiment from Rubber Stampede on the Christmas card.

A different holiday card

I'm jumping away from Easter real quick to play in the CAS Christmas Card Challenge. This month is is add an Elf to your card.  It's hard to make that switch right in the middle of making Easter cards but I wanted to get this in. I used a stamp and cut elf from Hero Arts. He is one of three in the set. I embossed a Christmas tree with a Cuttlebug folder inked with Forest Moss Distress Oxide to make the tree look flocked. The elf is colored with Copics and popped up. I used a black gel pen on him and added a few gems to the tree and his hat. The sentiment is Rubber Stampede.

Fun Easter Card

I love peeps and thought this would make a cute card. I used Lawn Fawn paper and Li'l Inker circle dies. I cut my yellow peep with a Simon Says die and the sentiment is also Simon Says. I splattered with AI in pink, blue and yellow.

Easter Lily

I was without my computer again Monday so I replaced the mouse and that seems to be the problem. A simple fix. Wish I'd done it last week when I was at Staples but it worked for several days.

This card is one I made with a Stampin' Up stamp for the lily and sentiment. I added two pattern papers for the background and colored the lily with Copics. I added WOS for a bit of shine.

Off to the grocery for Easter dinner yummies.

Hello

That is my greeting on this card for the CAS Stencil challenge this month. I used Viva Glitter Paste through a Dreamweaver metal stencil to create the tree. I also went over the tree trunk and branches with a Copic marker in brown. I mounted on brown card stock to frame it. Just as I finished the paste, the doorbell rang so I wasn't able to get all the glitter paste off the stencil with soap and water. You have to do that quickly.

My heart is heavy for the tragedy in Paris. Such a heart breaking thing to happen. Seeing the people singing and praying is so touching. So thankful they were able to save a lot of artifacts.

A card and a story

This is the Easter card I made for my grandson. All the guys in the family play golf and when I saw this stamp from Impression  Obession  I knew I had to have it. It was a challenge since is it red rubber and all one piece. I inked one bunny and stamped, cleaned off the stamp and inked the second bunny. I did that for grass, club and flag. I colored the carrots and went over the grasses with Copics. I think he will enjoy this card.

You know how words can be a balm to your soul or hurt you so much. We have to be careful with what we say. Last month I was having a go round with Comcast and having my own pity party complaining and mentioned my poor, pitiful life. I decided not to share so much here anymore so as not to depress anyone. Well, here I am, but I want to tell you something. I got the most wonderful comments on that post. The words that really struck me were from Kara who said that made me relate-able. I think about that every single time I want to share something and it makes me feel so much better. Thank you so much Kara.

Layered stamping

Things seem to be back to normal. I'm sharing my card for CAS Mix Up Card Challenge today. I used a layering tulip from Stampin' Up. The layers are stamped with Versamark ink. The first layer is embossed with Zing mustard e/p, second layer with Zing lavender e/p and third layer is Ranger gold tinsel e/p. Wow, I'm glad I tried this as it really makes an impact. I didn't have a green e/p so I colored in the stem with a Copic. I hope that's okay. Then stamped the sentiment with a Penny Black stamp. I added a few sequins.  I stamped, layered, embossed and used sequins.

What happened

I don't have a card today so you can skip this if you want. I've been without my computer for a few days. It was having some kind of fit and caused me to have one too. The screen would jump all over, wouldn't let me click out and when the cursor was on the x the screen would disappear and several new ones would pop up. I called Comcast (sigh) and they checked and said everything was okay. They gave me the number for HP support. I called and told them what it was doing. He said "Oh, you have a virus or malware on it". "We can fix that as so as we get you signed up".  Signed up for what? "Well, it's a one time charge of $35. then 14.99/month for a year". In other words a service package. I really wasn't sure that was what was wrong so I said I'd wait and hung up. When I logged back on later in the day, it worked fine. Then it didn't.

Yesterday I took it to Staples where I bought it. He ran a diagnostic test and found no virus or malware. He tried several things and could find nothing wrong. He did update windows and it is fine. He said sometimes it's the mouse, wifi or any other interference. They did not charge me at all and it was good to go.  I just wanted you to know there are other options. I'm glad my inner intuition kicked in before I signed up with them. I hate for other people to take control of my computer. They may try to copy my cards! That's my PSA for today.

While I was trying to get things working, each time I clicked on something it disappeared so if I don't visit your blog, please stop in and comment so I can put your blog back. That is my worst nightmare to lose all my friends.

I have a busy couple of days today and tomorrow but I hope to catch up with visiting and commenting soon. For everyone in the path of this current blizzard and high winds please be safe and stay in. Verna, I'm thinking of you and hope you don't have to be out.

Water color poppies

This card is for my ex Stampin' Up demo. She has a birthday coming up at the end of this week so this sentiment seemed perfect for her. I water colored the Penny Black die with four colors of Zig Clean Color real brush markers and embossed an oval background for them. It took three tries before I was happy with the water color since the blending seems hard to me. I love how this one turned out so I am playing in the CAS Watercolor challenge.

Sunny skies are here

I believe Spring is truly here now. Sunny skies and warm temps. This is a card we made last month in the Stampin' Up class. I love that sweet bunny peeking out of the fence. All SU products. Have a great day.

I have not been around this last week and I will try to catch up with comments soon.

No pranks

I kinda missed April Fool's Day and I didn't fool anyone and didn't have anyone fooling me this year. I got up and got ready and my SIL and I went to Nashville, IN for the day to the stamp stores and lunch. Of course, lunch. I was a good girl and only got one stamp set and one Penny Black stamp. That's the least I've ever spent at their stores.

This is a card I made for a friend going through a rough time right now. I don't know the maker of the stamp. It is a red rubber stamp that came in a package with others I got at a Heirloom Show years ago. It is stamped on a Li'l Inkers circle and a strip of pattern paper added.
