A bike trip

My son, his wife, his son and his granddaughter all have birthdays in September. All of our family birthdays are in groups. October is my younger son and his daughter. April is my granddaughter's boyfriend and my grandson's wife and May is my granddaughter and grandsons birthdays. The April and May birthdays are only three days apart. We have one only in February so we need another baby born in February to round out the group. I need to bring that up!

My oldest son just returned from a bike trip to South Dakota.  He and a friend took their motorcycles out there in a trailer, then visited the Black Hills, The Badlands and Mount Rushmore and all the places they could during a week trip. I made this birthday card for him. It is an ArtStamp and the sentiment is Stampin' Up. I stamped the image and matted it on silver mirror cardstock. A very male card that I think he will like.

Embossing with mirror cardstock

On a recent zoom our group made cards from foil or mirror cardstock embossed with embossing folders or 3D embossing folders. I used some of both for the following cards. Hope you try it, it is addicting. The second card used the inverted embossing side and my last card is a bright green that didn't photograph well. On the red card I sanded a bit of color off the poinsettia.

A mantle decoration

This card uses one of my oldest stamp sets. It was one of the first I bought in the 90's. I wish it had a date on it. It is from The Saltbox Studio which is no longer making stamps. It is now textiles. I am posting this card to caschristmascardchallenge that is asking for Decorations.  The mantle is a Poppy Stamps die called Grand Flower Box that looked like a mantle to me. The sentiment is Impression Obsession. The candles are colored with Copics and adhered to the mantle.

Sadly my last Twofer

Here is my last submission to Twofer. I've enjoyed it so much and it made me look at my stamps differently. Now I can get started on NBUS pile!

I used a Lavinia stamp called Mooch for both cards and on the Halloween card I used a Lavinia tree stamp. I brushed on Distress Oxide inks for the background after masking the moon. Then I brushed a bit of color over it and stamped bats for Mooch to watch fly by. I colored two Lawn Fawn pumpkins with Copics and fussy cut them to add at the base of the tree.

The birthday card uses a Simon Says Stamp set and dies.  I colored the fish with Copics and added stickles to both and glossy accents to the body of the orange fish.  The waves are embossed with white e/p. After adding the fish to the bowl, I covered it with acetate, then the frame. Mooch would love to get one of those fish for dinner.

Thank you, Darnell, for four years of enjoyment with this fun challenge. I met lovely new bloggers and had a terrific time each month.

Heat advisory for again today

It is so hot again and can't make up it's mind. We have either rain or extreme heat. The whole country is having such wacky weather this year. I can't go out in this kind of heat so cardmaking is my priority today. Inspired by the casmixup challenge that is asking for stamping through a stencil I made this card. The stencil is from Neat and Tangled. It is a strip of balloons but I just used just one and moved it around. I inked through the stencil, then using a Lawn Fawn alphabet stamp set, I stamped happy over each balloon through the stencil. The birthday word is by Die-namics dies. It needed something more, so by taking some advice from a dear friend, I scored a few lines beneath the birthday.

A touch of gold

I recently ordered two 6 x 6 paper packs (because you can never have to much paper) from Craft Consortium. There are 40 sheets of 20 designs in each and they look like alcohol ink papers. You will be seeing a lot of the cards made with this paper because 80 sheets are a lot.  I fell in love with the colors used so this is one page from the pad. I added a Stampin' Up die cut in gold mirror paper and also the sentiment. It came out looking a bit more gaudy than I expected. I could have laid the die on the paper first to see how it would look, but did I do that? Nope, just glued it right on! Oh well, what's done is done.

A quick card

I'm trying not to go anywhere right now while the variant is raging but somehow that isn't working. Between catching up on doctor appointments I missed last year and places I need to go, I've been on the run. This is a quick card put together by a card front that came in a kit. I just put it on the card and matted it and it was done. Sometimes you just need a quick card and this fit the bill.
