Happy Halloween to all you who celebrate. I hope all the little trick or treaters are warm and safe tonight. Our trick or treat has been cancelled for tonight because the nasty weather is suppose to come in from 4 to 11 pm. That's the first time ever that I know of it being cancelled but I'm glad they changed it. It would have been miserable with winds of 60 miles an hour expected and two inches of rain.

I would like to welcome Sue from the UK as a follower. I'm so happy to have you as a fellow crafter along with my other cardmakers. I love this blogging and I'm learning so much from all of you.

Todays card is a thinking of you for a friend of mine. I am excited to send this card to http://casology.blogspot.com.au/. Their cue word this time is black. This is a hero arts stamp and I embossed it with black ep and thinned out ink to color with.  Be kind to one another.

Lots of things going on. I HAD to clean the house. I've been kinda of letting it go and browsing blogs instead. Whoops! We have had clean clothes and food on the table though. Been getting out our winter duds since the temps have dropped. That leads to cleaning out the closet and going through things that I hadn't planned on doing. You know how one thing leads to another. That's why it's not a good idea to start that kind of thing!! Also did a quick wash of the windows yesterday.

I made a light box today because I made a card and tried to take a picture of it. I saw one (the box) on Pinterest and have seen several made on blogs, so I did that. The box turned out well, the picture, not so much. It's not a real defined stamp so maybe it won't photograph well ever but I think it's me.  I'm showing you a card I did last year for Thanksgiving. It's a Serendipity stamp with a leaf from one of those little sets of autumn buttons. Tomorrow I'll be running all errands before the big rains and furious winds they are predicting for Thursday.  My heart goes out to all those affected by the terrible storms in the UK and all the places it traveled to. Be kind to each other.

It wasn't just chilly this morning, it was down right cold - 26 degrees. Didn't want to go out but we had to pick up hubby's medicine so we did that and went to lunch. I stopped and filled up the gas tank on the way home and I can tell you that I did not enjoy that! It wasn't as cold but the wind is blowing and that makes it seem so much colder. I have mailed off all the Halloween cards but thought I would show you this one from last year for granddaughter. Keep warm and be kind.
My scissors are holding it closed!

So many blogs, so little time! I'm still spending so much time online but I am so happy to see everyone's blog. What a world of inspiration out there. I love to see how each person intwerkprets a sketch or challenge. Oops, that was a "Darnellism". I'm seeing too much of Miley Cyrus news. That would be interprets. There is so much talent out there in blogland. Plus, you can learn anything from you tube that bloggers post. Love all of you so much. It is a small world for me here at home. My hubby is pretty well functioning after six years of being diagnosed with dementia. He is unable to start the dvd player or do simple tasks so I hate to be gone very long from home. He won't fix anything to eat so I am always here for meals or leave something in the fridge. I take him out to eat lunch when I go to the pharmacy or to run short errands. It gets him out for a while. He does wander off tho and I have to keep an eye on him! I'm always afraid he will let the dog outside and forget about her in really hot or really cold weather. So I am a homebody and since I found cardmaking I am in paper heaven. This card is my last Halloween one unless I case the minion one on Pinterest. It is the cutest card and I know the granddaughters would love it. This card used an old Debbie Mumm sticker that I really love and a strip of Bazzill rick rack ribbon. Been hoarding that sticker for several years but I am trying to use all my stuff up. Be kind to each other.

Oh what a fun day we had at our sons Sunday. They loved their cards and the kids loved the gift bags. My daughter in law had a terrific dinner and dessert. This was celebrating our youngest son, granddaughter and my birthdays. I have brand new Archiver's and O'Charley's gift cards to spend. They know my haunts are Barnes and Noble, Archiver's and O'Charleys. I always welcome gift cards!! Okay my new thing is using patterned paper and I stamped on it! I have used paper on cards before but never as a focal point so this is a first. Turns out I love this card. It's for my oldest grandson and it's not fou fou so I think he will like it.

The paper is from Memory Box. It has script and the tree on it. I stamped the haunted house, moon and gravestones on it from an older Stampin Up set. I really like the way it turned out. It's a good guy card.  Be kind to each other.

Great day to craft. It's cold and rainy - perfect. I decorated some lunch bags to put a little candy in for the grands. We go to our son's tomorrow so I thought I'd better get busy. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. Visiting Michelle's blog http://michellephilippi.com/ I was inspired by the paper she used. I realized I had the same pad and could use it on sacks. Here they are. Be kind to each other.

Sun is back out today. I am happier when it is pretty out. Even if it's cold if we have sun it makes such a difference. I am going to take hubby for haircut, stop and get prescriptions and groceries and lunch for him. Then Sister in law and I are going to make a short trip to Brown County. There are two stamps stores there and she quilts and is looking for fabric. Hubby watches Walker, Texas Ranger every afternoon so he will be okay for a few hours.  Today's card is for youngest grandson. It is a Sizzix bingo EF and the 31st is purple stickles. Frankie is a Lasting Impressions brass stencil. He is into monsters alto this one is a happy one! Be kind to each other.

I had a nice surprise yesterday. Every three months the ladies in our community (we live in an over 55 community) get together for a luncheon. It started as coffee and we took turns having it at our homes. Now it has grown so much we have a venue. Yesterday it was at Ponderosa. I hadn't been there in at least 25 years and I was nicely impressed. The food was really good. That's not the surprise altho kinda. In our newsletter they mentioned a lady that stamps and to contact her if you were interested. I assumed (and you know what happens when you do that!) she was a Stampin up gal and I have one so I didn't call. Turns out she just makes cards and used to have some sort of company but not now. It was signs or stenciling or something like that. Then she also has a dog and doesn't leave it in a kennel so she is looking for someone to trade dog sitting with. We talked and got a little acquainted and she said she will call me and bring the dog over to see if they are compatible. It would be nice to do that as Molly gets so upset at the kennel. They only let them out three times a day and that's not enough. They always wash her blankets and I know why! We'll see what happens with the dog and the cardmaking. I think bartering may make a come back. I am thinking of raising cows and chickens in the back yard to pay our doctors since medicare may be in jeopardy. Finally started on Halloween cards too. Here is the one for granddaughter.  It didn't photograph well.  I got down right in front of it and the flash didn't show on it but it still is weird. This is made with NBUS per Darnell. The ghosts are rub ons. They have been around a long time in my stash! I don't know if they still make rub ons.  Be kind to each other.

I didn't accomplish much yesterday. Watched football and made a card for my girlfriend for Halloween. Caught up with my sons on the phone and made a pizza for dinner. How's that for chillin' out! Some days are just like that. That is one of the things I like about retirement, no set schedule and no rushing around. My favorite thing though is not getting up to an alarm clock. When I look back, I realize most of my life was arranged by the alarm clock. First it was school, then work, then getting the kids up for school, then work. Sleeping in is now by dawns early light. Early in spring and summer and as it gets light later in fall and winter we sleep a little later. Be kind.

We have another beautiful day filled with sunshine. I'm trying to enjoy it while we still have it. I told Colleen at http://onesmileliftsaspirit.blogspot.com/ that I now need more get well and thinking of you cards and today I need two! Both my neighbor and my sister in law fell off bikes. The neighbor man was trying to get up the curb on his new three wheeler and it threw him off. Our doorbell rang early this am and another neighbor found him in the street and he couldn't get up. We went down and got him up but his arm and leg are pretty banged up. My sister in law fell off her bike yesterday while trying to get on to go ride with her granddaughter! She is going to try and get in to the ortho doctor tomorrow. Can't lift her arm all the way up and the skin on her knee is gone. For any of you bike riders out there - be careful!  I am posting the last of my sticker pictures today. Been busy making the Halloween cards for the grandkids yesterday. I make them pretty simple for the younger ones. I did just recently find out that my granddaughter saves them and took them to school for show and tell. I thought that was very sweet. Be kind.

I had a great time with my friend yesterday. She is two weeks out from her surgery and doing well. Her knee was a little stiff yesterday but she is doing her exercises and hanging in there. We had a nice lunch and visit.

This is the second of the stickers I used to frame for Halloween.

I don't have a good way to take pictures of projects. I only use a Kodak camera that fits in my purse so it is little. When you take pictures of a glass screen there is a glare so I propped it up and stood above it. That's why it looks a little strange.  Be kind to each other.

Thursday, October 10, 2013

I'm off to visit my girlfriend that had the knee replacement. I want to take her some lunch. She is doing well but can't drive yet so I'm going to spend some time with her. This post today is a sheet of Reminisce stickers. It has four 4x6 stickers and 8 small ones. I made three by mounting each sticker on a piece of black cardstock and putting it in a frame. I only had 3 frames so that's why I only made three! I'll show you one today and the rest later. Blogger will only let me put in one picture at a time. If I try to add another one it erases the first one!

I have another question if anyone knows. I can't make my picture small enough to add when I join as a follower. Does anyone know what I should do to make it smaller? Thanks in advance for any help you may have. I must be having issues with blogger. It won't let me be a follower for someone's blog. The only thing that appears is the word followers. The rest completely disappears. On another blog, when I go to comment, the whole blog disappears!  Be kind to each other.

Fall is here. Crisp, cool mornings and nights with warmth during the day. Molly and I had a nice walk yesterday. Today and the rest of the week is going to being nice. Leaves are starting to turn and some are falling. I got a haircut, went to bank and picked up a few things from grocery yesterday. I was anxious when I got home to try something that Angie of http://www.mychicnscratch.com/blog created. Very simple to do. Just cut the top part of the Witches Brew dsp off and put it in a frame. It is a cute decoration and with two sheets you can keep one and give one away. Be kind to one another.

Oh my gosh, I did it!!! I figured out how to have followers. Duh, it was so simple. For anyone out there that needs to know this let me tell you how.  You just go to the layout and click on add a gadget.  Which I had been doing. But - I only looked at the two pages that came up and only had a choice to add one by google. If you are adventurous like I was NOT, you click on more gadgets on the left side. That gives you 500+ choices and one of them is add followers by blogger. So simple. I think age has gotten to me.
Lots and lots of rain. Rained all evening last night, all night and so far all day today. We don't have rain like Colorado did. I feel so bad for all the people affected by weather. Nebraska had terrible tornados and my prayers go out to them as well as those snowed in. It's too early for snow!! I'm so glad Karen didn't materialize. This morning I finally got my son's birthday card finished. This is made with encaustic wax and does not photograph well. It is really vibrant in person. The little tree is an embellishment from Hobby Lobby. I think he will like it because it is a little different. This technique is inspired by Biggan. She is really good at this.

This is so hard for me to wrap my mind around, but today I am 70! My mind is still 30 but the body knows that is not true. I can still do all those things I used to, it just takes twice as long!

I want to thank all the ladies who have helped me get going with this blog. http://thecraftylaydee.blogspot.com/,  helped me figure out the time issue, and http://itsanalienlife.blogspot.com/, taught me how to get comments in email and http://carolinacardsbymaryh.blogspot.com/ and http://www.djkardkreations.com/ have helped me in so many ways as well as many others with encouragment. Darnell taught me how to make links and look at me go!  Today my sister in law is taking me out to lunch and we are going to Archiver's to do the little bag make and take. The card I am showing you today is made with a sticker sheet from Archiver's last year. It is really cute IRL and shiny.  Again, thanks to all of you with help and comments. I am home almost every day so I have plenty of time to blog. I do run errands and get to run to places for short times but I pretty much stay close to home. Fortunately the places I want to go are within 15 minutes of home. Michaels, Joanns, Hobby Lobby and Archiver's are all within my 15 minutes. Other than the grocery store, that's where I hang out. Even my stampin up gal is 5 minutes from home. How lucky can I get!  Have a nice day and be kind to each other.

Tuesday, October 1, 2013

I didn't post the previous post at 9:46 am, I posted at 12:46 pm.  There are several places to set time and I don't know where to do it to fix the blog time. My computer time is fine.
Oh my heck, I am apologizing to all the readers I have. I am so, so sorry if I didn't answer your comments. Today I was dinking around the design part of my blog. There are still many things I don't know yet. I clicked on comments and I had a lot of them. I couldn't figure out where they all came from. Turns out, if someone comments after the day is past, you have to go back to each day and see them. I did that the first couple of days, but not since. So I am truly sorry if I didn't answer your comments. They mean a lot to me. I don't know which I should do, answer on reply on my blog or go to your blog and make a comment. I also don't know how to set the time on the blog. Trust me when I tell you I am not commenting at 6 in the morning. I am doing some of my best sleeping then! I have tried to go back and check in with you but I may have missed someone. You have all been so helpful in educating me. Stampers are the greatest!!!

I have lost a few days. The cough and sore throat turned out to be nasty. Throat is still sore but I can talk now. Couldn't do that Sun. and Mon. I had a hard time staying awake.  Today I am showing you something my grandson made for me when he was 5. You may recognize the stamp he used. After he was finished he came in and asked me how many l's there are in grandma. Didn't seem fazed when I told him there weren't any!  Be kind to one another.
