Another hello

We have been having thunderstorms for the last five hours this morning. Daisy got me up a little after four because of thunder off in the distance. She starts shaking so hard so I have to cuddle her. It doesn't stop her from shaking but I think she feels better. It's now seven after nine and it's still going on along with horrendous rain. On the upside, it's not so hot anymore.

While I had the hello die out from the previous card, I used it again cut in brown cardstock. I brayered yellow ink on a Simon Says floral field embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot. I added brown ink with a finger dauber to the daisy centers. Added some SU ribbon and the hello die. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

So very sad

that a building could just "fall down" in the middle of the night. That is so hard to wrap your mind around. My heart goes out to everyone involved in Surfside. The brave responders working so tirelessly in fire and rain and to those families waiting.

A very simple card today using Alexandra Renke paper and an Altenew hello die. Her papers are outstanding with colors and design and it's hard to cut them up. I love the font on this hello die, it's so fancy. No matter how hard I try I can't seem to get an even picture so I'm sorry it's so crooked.

Oh Baby!

Another baby being born in our family. I wish it was one of my grandchildren having it but it is my sister-in-law Sharon's granddaughter. This will be her second little girl due any time now. I used a Lawn Fawn Frame and paper from The Paper Studio called Sweet Pea. It is a very old paper pad. I used all the cut a parts and  pattern paper. I love how it turned out.

Stormy skies

I thought I'd better pop in early today since we are predicted to have a windy, stormy day, evening and through tomorrow noon.  When I saw the colors for the  color hues challenge were aqua and black I knew I had to play. That is my favorite color combination and reminds me of a sweater I used to have. I needed a masculine card so I sponged Black Soot distress ink and Catherine Pooler Fiesta Blue ink to make a background. The sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp die that I partially inked in the same Fiesta Blue. Even though it says blue in the name it is a soft aqua color.

Time to start thinking about snowmen

Well, it will be here before we know it! The theme this month at caschristmascardchallenge is Snowman. We have been in the 90's so it was a good way to cool off by playing in the challenge.

I used a very, very old sizzix die to cut this snowman. The die cuts each thing individually so you have to color and add the eyes, nose, buttons and arms to the snowman. The scarf was cut from pp. I added glossy accents to his eyes and buttons and added him to a snow embossed background panel.  The sentiment is Penny Black. It didn't cool me off as much as I had hoped but it's a happy card.

The sunshine is here

Yes sir, we have sunshine in the midwest and for the twofercardchallenge. The theme is sunshine and here are my two cards. The sun is die cut with a Lil' Inkers die on both cards. I sponged the sky, then sponged through a Simon Says Stamp stencil for the water and added some strokes with a white pen. Then, my most favorite thing - I used the sand embossing powder from Hero Arts that gives a sand texture to the card. The chair is a Gina Marie die cut and an embossed sentiment from Lawn Fawn.

The second card uses a sunshine die that I sponged with mustard seed and cracklin' campfire distress oxides and the sun. Using a very old Stampin' Up stamp I colored the happy face and stamped it, then punched it out and glued to the face of the sun. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. The sunshine does make me smile so that seemed like an easy one layer card for me.

Flight

When I saw the word for June's casmixup was flight I knew right away what I wanted to do. That doesn't always happen for me and it can take weeks for me to decide.

I watercolored a sky background and die cut and sponged clouds and arranged them on the background. I stamped and fussy cut the paper airplane and adhered it. The movement stamp and sentiment are stamped from Lawn Fawn as is the paper airplane.

Graduation

It's that time of year for graduations. I have two this year, one is my grandson and one is a cousin. I made these cards from https://frenchiestamps.com/2021/05/how-to-make-a-slim-card-for-graduation-with-gift-cardholder.html. It is easy to make and you have a pocket for a gift card or cash. I put in the yellow strip of paper in the green card so you could see it. This card fits in a #10 envelope. The cap flips up when the card is opened.

I would like to welcome a new follower. Her blog is https://sandmacards.blogspot.com/ and I hope you will have time to pop in and tell her hello.

Poppies

This birthday card uses a Lavinia poppy stamp stamped twice and embossed in white e/p, as is the sentiment. Very CAS. I liked how it came out so much I made a second one for my granddaughter's birthday. She kept running her fingers over the embossing to feel it.
