Yesterday was junior prom for my granddaughter. Of course I went over to see her in her dress before they went out to eat. She did look beautiful (if I do say so myself!) and her date was so nice. I haven't heard from her yet today but I'm sure they had a good time. The first picture is her and her date, the second with her dad and the last one with her brother.  Be kind to one another.

I'm getting a start on making birthday cards for my May birthdays. My youngest grandson has really taken to golf in a big way. My oldest grandson is into it too, as are my sons. It comes from my hubby and I wish he was here to see how much his grandsons love the game. It was Bills passion. My youngest has caddied for the past two years at a country club and will again this year.  In addition, he will be working at another course getting the carts out and doing whatever needs to be done. He is also on the JV golf team at his high school.

The reason for this story is to show you the card I made for him. The cover for this card is leather like that I made from watching a video from https://www.frenchiestamps.com/ on May 20th. She used a leaf e/f and I did too only because there are so many trees on the golf course so it went with the theme. Inside is a golf  stamp and sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms, an older company no longer in business.  I colored with Copics. I think he will get a kick out of it. Be kind to one another.

I'm almost afraid to say anything but I think we may be getting spring. Maybe a bit of rain later but that's okay. Upper 50's to low 60's and no snow although the weather mentioned a chance of flurries later in the week. WHAT?

I'm making birthday cards right now. I have five birthdays in May so I need to get busy.  This is an ombre card with Stampin Up dies. Just a few sequins for bling and I love the outcome. Be kind to one another.

I wanted to play in the bird water color challenge this month. The samples and cards in the challenge gallery are just beautiful. A dear friend gifted me a water color class and  I loved it. It's not something I do that often so I need to get back to it. This is an old Stampin Up stamp and I used my Zigs on a craft mat and spritzed with water to do the coloring on the background. Then used them to color the image and a water brush to pull the color out. A Spellbinder die was used to cut the image out. Be kind to one another.

Edited: I forgot to add I used Inka Gold silver for the snail. I wanted it to stand out!

Gosh, I love spring. The wonderful sunshine, beautiful flowers, the snow coming down sideways, and the extreme wind!

Because of the rainy Saturday and very cool Sunday I was able to make my cards for The Twofer Card Challenge #4 - Pets.

I used a Newton's Nook dog image for both cards. The beach scene is Stampin Up paper and birds with a Lawn Fawn sentiment. I made this for my friend who is just getting over a bad patch to cheer her up.

The second card is an invitation to our pizza party. I used the same dog, Graphic 45 paper background and collar, a slice of pizza from Lawn Fawn and the speech bubble is also Lawn Fawn popped up.

It was a busy week for me with activities every morning and every afternoon. Pretty much wore me out but I am pleased that I got through it and feel so good. Lots of rain and storms for today so a great day to stay in the craft room. I do need to get my hair cut or I won't be able to see through my bangs.

This is a birthday card for my former Stampin Up demo. We had lunch Wednesday and she came to visit. She still works full time but had three days off so we had a nice visit. It is a Hero Arts stamp and a Color Burst background. I added a few sequins and the sentiment is from Mint Owl. I stamped the tree on white card stock and on the Color Burst background. Then I cut out a panel from the white card stock and using foam tape, popped up the white panel. I don't know if you can tell that in the picture but it had dimension. Be kind to one another.

I'm delighted to introduce a new follower to my blog. She is Lynn and lives in Texas. I hope you can pop in and say hi. Her blog is http://creativecraftsbylynn.blogspot.com/. This card is another Black Ice technique but I don't like it as well on gold. I embossed with a WeRMemory Keepers folder and used archival black ink. Then versamark and clear embossing powder. This doesn't show up as mirror gold card stock at all in the photo. The sentiment is Hero Arts. Be kind to one another.

Snow expected this weekend. There is nothing else to say.

I made this extra card to give to my exercise buddy when I gave her the black ice card Tuesday. It is blank on the inside and I told her to send this one to someone to brighten their day. She was so appreciative and seemed to like it too. I just masked off the corners and sponged several Distress Oxide Inks and stamped with a Technique Tuesday stamp.  (I first typed a Tuesday Morning stamp). That is where I want to run by after the rehab meeting today! Be kind to one another.

I have never seen so much water and flooding. It rained, and rained and rained. One of our interstates was closed just south of me because of flooding and there was so much water overflowing everywhere. I have always felt so bad for people when I've seen flooding on TV but now I truly know how they feel. It is scary.  I drove through a lot of it very slowly on my way to rehab.

Thanks to Melissa Kerman I tried the black ice technique. It is dramatic and very easy to do with supplies you already have. Just search you tube for Black Ice technique.  This is my card. My rehab buddy asked about my cards so I made this for her. I took it yesterday and she said it was "nice". If you don't make cards you really don't have an understanding about them. But she hugged me and was thrilled I made her a card.  I used silver mirror card stock and embossed it with a WeRMemory Keepers embossing folder. Then I did the black ice. It is matted on black card stock, then to a gray card base.  Be kind to one another.

Happy Easter to all. I hope everyone has a lovely day with family or friends or both. It's hard to believe but they are predicting 1-3 inches of snow tonight! Good grief, when will winter end!

This is my last Easter card for this year. It is a Stampin Up cross and sun and the rejoice is from Simon Says Stamp. Be kind to one another.
