Happy Memorial Day. It's a beautiful day to honor all our men and women who have fought for our freedom. My hubby was a VietNam Veteran and loved this country so much. We are so grateful for their service.

Today I am going to my sons house for a cookout and to celebrate birthdays and a graduation.  I'm showing you the birthday card I made from the acetate tag I did in the Clear and Sheer online card class. I just mounted it on yellow cardstock, added a sentiment from Lawn Fawn and a few sequins. I know my granddaughter will love it.   I am going to enter this card in the Paper Players challenge Tic-Tac-Toe. I used yellow, twine and birthday. Be kind to one another and enjoy your day.

My youngest granddaughter graduated from eight grade Wed. night. This is the card I made for her. It is Lawn Fawn stamps, We R Memory Keepers embossing folder and vellum embossed with clear embossing powder. I had a hard time rolling up that diploma he is holding! Big weekend here with parade and race. Lots of excitement in town and lots of people visiting. Be kind to one another.

I am just getting in at the last minute but I wanted to participate in http://casmixup.blogspot.ca/ with Bonnie and Loll.  My SIL invited me to a catered dinner at her church Thursday night and even came and picked me up. It was a great evening with food, a game and wonderful people. I enjoyed it so much and wanted to send her a thank you card. I stamped with versamark on vellum and embossed with HA white embossing powder. Then I sponged DI on the back of the vellum on the image and thank you.  I added a little jewel and now wished I hadn't. Be kind to one another.

I found this button at JoAnn's and it made me think of the Darice embossing folder that looks like it. This is just a card for no reason. I rubbed black ink on the embossing folder and ran it through the big kick. Then cut an opening in black cardstock and added an acetate window, then the embossed panel. The button is kinda big but I slapped it on anyway because that's why I got it! Sometimes things come out like you thought and sometimes not. Be kind to one another.

Thank you all for your uplifting comments last week. I had lots of phone calls all day Friday and that was so nice. I didn't go to my sons after all. I just couldn't go. This anniversary was harder than Thanksgiving and Christmas. Maybe because we were all together as a family for both occasions and this was me alone. Also, lots of hustle and bustle on both previous holidays.  I did shed some tears but I was okay and am okay now. It was just a hard first.

I'm posting pictures of my granddaughter before the dance. The first one is her and her brother and the next is her. I'm thinking that with that pose she is watching too much America's Next Top Model! I can't show you the others because of all the kids in the pictures and I don't have permission to post their pictures. She had a good time, danced some and they went out to eat afterwards. So, first dance a success.

I'm also posting a picture of what happens when you drop an ink pad on your leg. Molly was very interested in it but I think she thought it was food. Here she is sniffing both legs to be sure.

Tough day today. It would be our 49th anniversary. The boys have been great about helping me through it. I am going to my sons early evening to see my granddaughter get ready for her first dance. It is 8th grade and her girlfriends are coming home with her after school to get ready together. That will be so much fun for them so I'm happy to be part of a fun time. Then after they are dropped off at school, we will go out for dinner.

Yesterday it was capri's and tee shirts, tomorrow 38 degrees! It's hard to decide what to put on everyday. It's nice outside but the house hasn't warmed up yet so it's chilly inside. I'll be glad when it makes up it's mind about what temp to be. The card today is for my girlfriends birthday tomorrow. We have been friends for over 40 years and live close to each other. This is a SU die cut mounted on an acetate sheet. I sponged the background paper with DI in yellow, pinks and orange with a touch of lavender. . The picture was taken on top of my craft cabinet marble top. It was hard to get a picture without reflection. Be kind to one another

I want to wish Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there. I hope you get to spend a fantastic day with your children and family.  I am going to my son's along with the family for the day. It is only 54 degrees now with a high of 63 and possible thunderstorms later. Very gray and overcast. We always sit outside on the deck or patio so that may be impossible today. Oh well, we'll get to play games and just hang out instead.

My heart goes out to Canada right now with the fires they are having. Such an immense fire and doing so much damage. It is not even started to be contained and that is scary.

Today's card is for one of the birthdays I have coming up. I used some pattern paper again. That makes me so happy. I did go about it backwards though. I colored the flowers first then had to go hunt some paper that would go with it. I have so much pattern paper and I've given so much of it away. I think it multiplies in the closet. I believe that's how plaid is made. It starts out with just one color, then gets together with other papers in the stack and next thing you know - plaid! But, I digress. The point is I'm trying to integrate pattern paper into my very plain cards. So I'm happy with this card today. I've finished the Clear and Sheer online class and the wrap up day had a couple of things I want to try. It will be at least Tuesday before I can get going so that is something to look forward to. Be kind to one another.

Boy I wish I had enjoyed Spring more those three days it was here. I thought it would be longer! Now it is 43 degrees and the wind has been blowing hard again. Ick.

Here is another card from class. I know the picture isn't very good but the front is acetate and in order to have enough light to take the pix and keep the reflection off the card I had to get close. This is my practice card and I can't wait to make a really nice one. The colors I used for the balloon aren't bright enough and I smeared the white ink at the very last while putting on the frame but this is a great way to make a card. The balloons are stamped on charcoal cardstock and colored with pencils. Then the balloons are stamped on acetate with white Staz On and layered over the cardstock. Then you just add a frame. I loved this class. Be kind to one another.

My card today is another one from Online Card Class Clear and Sheer. I am posting one picture on my craft mat and one on a white paper because it's so hard to see acetate. It is an embossed acetate card backed with colored cardstock. The colors didn't come through true. It is a sage green back and soft light sage circle. Today I'm trying another card made in class. I haven't made any vellum cards because they require heavier vellum than I have. It will be in my next order for sure. Be kind to one another.
