Blustery today

I could hardly get the door open this morning to let Daisy outside. The wind is blowing so hard and the cold is back. I wish the weather would make up it's mind. Cold one day, 72 the next. We had thunder overnight and that scares her so bad. I sleep on my side with my legs drawn up and she slept right up  against me in that space shaking me and the bed for several hours. I am tired this morning.

I learned this technique from Loll and it's called faux mother of pearl. You start by pouncing frost paint with bunched up plastic wrap in places over the cardstock. Let it dry completely. Then using two similar colors of ink, add a light coat with each color ink in places over the cardstock. Then you can go back and add it darker. Then buff over the cardstock with a paper towel to bring out the shine of the frost paint.  I added a die cut from Simon Says Stamp because I didn't want to cover up the shine. I hope you like this and here is the link to her video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTAAKBABV1s.

Another zoomer

Good morning, stampers.  I'm sharing another card made in a zoom class. This technique is by kwernerdesign.com and makes an image look so pretty. I used a stencil and makeup brush to color it. Then you just softly brush color around each image. I love how this turned out. All I did was add a sentiment.

Happy 5th Birthday

http://casmixup is celebrating their birthday this month with the

challenge. It was introduced by Print Making by Kathy Racoosin and it is fun. This is the card I made for the challenge. I used Sizzix flower dies and watercolored them in Distress Inks. Just laid them down on the background when wet to make the print.  The host for this months celebration is Bonnie.

Twofer for March

Our choice this month for twofercardchallenge. I chose bunny as my word and used a Katzelkraft bunny for both cards. It was hard to make a different design for each card since the bunny looked the same direction but I changed it up a bit. I used a Lavinia stencil behind the first card and a carrot from Impression Obession. The sentiment is My Favorite Things.  The second card used paper from Concord and 9th as background. and a sentiment from Art Impressions.

I wish you all a safe, happy St. Patrick's Day.

I would like to introduce you to a new follower. She is Jessica and her blog is https://witchcraftedlife.com/. She has other interests besides cardmaking and I hope you have time to pop in and say hello.

Gesso card

During a zoom play I was able to make this card using an Eileen Godwin technique. I used gesso through a stencil, added some soft color with a blending brush and then stamped a Lavinia stamp over it when it dried. The hardest part is waiting for the gesso to dry so you can stamp and finish the card.

Alcohol Inks

It's been awhile since I played with AI  and I wanted to get them out again in my quest to use what I have. You are always surprised with the results and no two are the same. This came out so pretty. I stamped a Love From Lizzie rose after it was completely dry and added a few sequins. Stamped the sentiment and that was it.

Great color combo

Bonnie has a great challenge for the https://caschristmascardchallenge this month using red, white and kraft. This is such a wonderful color combination that I wanted to jump right in. I used Catherine Pooler Sand Castle ink to be the kraft and inked up the Sizzix poinsettia embossing folder. Using a Poppy clear stamp I stamped the sentiment in red ink and mounted the panel on SU red cardstock.

I love all the cards submitted for this challenge so far.

Water coloring

In keeping with my resolution to learn to water color, I made this birthday card. Now I need to work on shading but I'm okay with this card. I used a Katzelkraft stamp and stamped in black and embossed in clear embossing powder. I water colored his green outfit. His face and bunny were colored with Copics. The sentiment was embossed also and several layers of green cardstock were die cut for birthday.

I've been starting spring cleaning. Let me give you my take on it. You dust and it comes back. You scrub the kitchen floor, then drop stuff on it. You clean the bathroom and immediately get water spots in the sink and shower and on the mirror. Not to mention what stains the toilet. You wash windows - no reason to, it just rains and the wind blows it onto the windows. You vacuum, that's where the dust goes. There is no point in doing any of that. You make a card - it stays like that forever. You decide.
