Winter has returned for a brief visit this weekend. It's been such a strange winter with up and down temps. We even had a teeny little bit of snow yesterday morning. Friday it was 74 degrees! Friday was also my next door neighbors birthday. He is in his 80's and doesn't really do much so I went with a simple birthday card. It was inspired by Kristina Werner's card last week only she added vellum balloons and I didn't do that. I didn't have anything she used so I used a Simon Says balloon stamp and Mama Elephant pigment inks. I drew the strings with a marker.  I used the little star in the set to make confetti and used two colors of Nuvo Drops to add a little glitter. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I added a few turquoise sequins. The card would not lay flat so that is my bone folder holding it closed. Be kind to one another.

We have had some warm days so unusual in February for us. My SIL had to go to Bloomington Monday so I went along. Then we popped over to Nashville and the stamp store. You just can't pass up a chance to go when you're that close! I only bought some new colors of alcohol inks since I had so much fun with the shaving cream technique. I'm hoping to get to use them this week.

The card today is just a fun card. I love the new SU set called Hey, Chick. That's all I used for this card, along with a strip of pattern paper that was a snippet. The embossing folder is called Cricut Cuttlebug and the button is from my button box. The circles were cut with Spellbinders. Be kind to one another.

As any stamper does, I have tons and tons of rubber stamps. I have stamps sets and single wood mounted stamps. I have stamps from almost every stamp company I know of. The first thing my granddaughter wanted to know when she came to make her Valentines was "Do you have a taco stamp?" What? No?  How could I not have a taco stamp. I actually do have one that is about a quarter inch. It goes with the new SU food truck set. Her boyfriend loves tacos and that's what she wanted to make. While she was making her cards I was thinking. We took an oval die and folded it in half. Used some green ink direct to paper and cut it in thin strips. Added a little bit of brown cardstock for hamburger and added the strips of lettuce to make our own taco. The taco is made with cream colored cardstock that doesn't show up in the picture. The lettuce is really green and doesn't look like it either. The card is below along with the inside. She wanted something else on the front so I showed her how to splatter. I have never done splatter and I think she did great.  These are the other two cards she did. Be kind to one another.

I hope you aren't tired of seeing Valentines. This is my final one although I did take pictures of the ones my granddaughter made. I'll share part today and the rest tomorrow. My card was made with an Impression Obsession heart die that I love. and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. I wanted the heart to be showcased since it is so beautiful. Be kind to one another.

Here are two made by my granddaughter -

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. I hope you have a lovely day with your loved one, family, friend, neighbor and/or children. Our family celebrated Sunday and the boys called this morning to wish me a happy day. My granddaughter came yesterday and brought her roommate so she could make some cards too for her family.

Here is another Valentine for a sweet friend. It is a Sizzix heart die cut in red and white and layered on a kraft background. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. Have a wonderful day and be kind to one another.

Wow, two days in a row for me posting! This card is for my grandson in college. He puts them on his bullentin board so I stamped the love you teeny with a DeNami stamp so if the guys saw it they wouldn't tease him. The 14th stamp is Tim Holtz and it's just circles and the little hearts are Autumn Leaves. I thought is would be a good guy card. Be kind to one another.

We are back to 60 degrees today. It's hard to keep up with the temps. My card today is for my oldest granddaughter. I used a Memory Box Starry Night stencil and Cosmic Shimmer sparkle texture paste on navy SU cardstock. The stamp set is Altenew. Be kind to one another.

Tuesday it was 61 and today it is 3 degrees. My feet are frozen. I'm just popping in to share a Valentine for my youngest granddaughter. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp and the row of hearts is Mama Elephant. The bow is red and white twine. Very simple. Be kind to one another.

Wow, what a game! The Pats did it with a remarkable comeback. If you haven't seen the end of the 84 Lumber commercial, you really need to.  Go to Journey84.com and click on complete the journey. If you missed it on tv, go to the journey84.com and click on the journey. It brought me to tears. I can see why they thought the ending was too controversial for tv and didn't show it.

Todays card is for the CAS mix Up card challenge by Bonnie and Loll. It is to use corrugated cardboard, stamping and one other thing. I die cut a heart from cardboard, painted it and smooshed gold inka gold on it. Then mounted it on a Wilson red heart doily and that on pattern paper by Simple Stories.  I stamped the sentiment by Simon Says Stamp and added a few red and gold star sequins. I used a die cut, cardboard, paint and inka gold. Be kind to one another.

I bubbled! I was lucky enough to win a prize from Lee Murphy and it came yesterday. One of the gifts was wrapped in bubble wrap and I immediately thought of Darnell's challenge using bubble wrap. So I got out my alcohol inks and my new Lawn Fawn octopi stamp and got busy. I mixed three colors of AI on my CK glass mat and smooshed the bubble wrap in it, then put it down on white cardstock to make the background. I thought bubbles would be a good b/g for the octopus. The sentiment is stamped on a Simon Says die strip. The c/s and ink is SU. I am entering this is in http://www.djkardkreations.com/2017/01/nbus-challenge-10.html.  Be kind to one another.

I'm working on my Valentines for the family. It seems to be taking me a long time but I'm keeping on. Todays card is a Simon Says Scribble Heart die and the Love and little heart are W plus 9 dies. A few black sequins and snippet of red shiny paper for the little heart.  I am going to pop over to http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com/ and enter this card with it's snippet even though it is tiny. It looks like I won't be making the trip to TN for the funeral but other family is going so we will be well represented. I have a UTI that is kind of keeping me down for a few days but I'm taking my antibotics so will be fine soon. Be kind to one another.
