Sheldon

Yvonne is my next door neighbor and Sheldon was one of her dogs. Yvonne just lost her husband in December and she told me Thursday she had to let Sheldon go. He had a tumor and couldn't be operated on.  It is heartbreaking to lose him so soon after her husband. Sheldon was also Daisy's buddy. The outstanding thing about Sheldon is that he watched TV. He had his own TV set up on the floor right inside the front door. The front door was open and the storm door is just glass so when I went over last Wednesday he saw me come on the porch and gave me a glance and a woof, but went right back to his program. Then another glance and woof and right back to his program. It cracked me up. He wanted to bark at me but didn't want to miss anything. I made the card below for Yvonne. Sheldon was a labradoodle and I don't have a labradoodle stamp so I used this one from Tim Holtz. The TV is from Flourishes. I had to find something small to put on the TV so I used a chick from MFT and a mouse from SSS. The remote is also Flourishes. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  This is the memory I have of Sheldon watching TV. I forgot to say I put Fun Flock on Sheldon to make him furry.

No joke with this sad post today.

Be kind to one another.

Hi Brenda,
oh my that is so sad for her to have lost her wonderful doggie companion so quick after her hubby she must be devasted.
That dog sounded like a delight to have around and so much good company.
I have never heard of a dog with his own TV.

I love your card to cheer her up it's brilliant and the sentiment is just right also.
Lots of crafty love and hugs for you both. Jenny L.

You know how sad I am to hear about Sheldon. I feel so blessed to have seen Sheldon watch his TV myself and I laugh every time I remember how he would run about behind the TV when one of the cartoon characters went off the screen!! I am so in awe of this wonderful tribute card you made for Yvonne, Brenda. It's one of the most personalized cards I've ever seen and she will cherish it. Big hugs, my friend. Love, Darnell

Oh goodness, how sad this news is Brenda! I feel for Yvonne, our sweet pets are such good companions after we lose husbands, wives, etc...It's such a shame Yvonne had to lose Sheldon so soon after her husband. The curve balls of life, sure hard to handle sometimes! I've never had a dog who watched TV, but I know of other dogs that did. Sheldon sounds like he really enjoyed TV! My neighbor's German Shepherd will watch football but Savannah doesn't give TV a second look, neither does Bret's dogs. I think your card is a beautiful tribute to Sheldon and I'm sure it will bring Yvonne comfort. I love how you placed a TV with a "film" running on it and made your dog furry like Sheldon would be. Daisy will miss her buddy I'm sure and wonder where he is. My thoughts and prayers will be with Yvonne as well. Big hugs, Brenda

I feel so sad for your neighbor, but hopefully this card will lift her spirits and she'll always have that memory of her precious companion watching tv. Your thoughtfulness in making this card is loud and clear, and I'm sorry you're all going to have to deal with Sheldon no longer being there. Heartfelt hugs to you all.

Oh no--so not fair! I remember our Keesha was having problems when I lost my dad. I told hubby we had to try to save her as I couldn't loose her, too. She actually improved & we had her a few more years. I've known of dogs that watched TV briefly at times, but nothing like Sheldon! That is so funny. I know your neighbor appreciated this very special card.
