Seeing stars

Today's cards are what not to do. I wanted to get my Twofer cards made to play in the challenge and to get my Christmas cards really started. I've made a few for challenges but not really started and they need to be mailed early this year. Duh! When I finished them I realized I made the same design on both. That is a no-no for Twofer. Darnell will give me thirty lashes for sure. I intended to turn the stars on the first card and put them at the bottom left with the sentiment at the top. The red star on the second card framed the sentiment I wanted to use so it had to be there. I was so intent on placing the red star perfectly inside the green star that I just plumb forgot to change it up. Anyway, here they are. Maybe Darnell won't notice if she doesn't have her glasses on!

Be kind to one another.

Hi Brenda,
I do believe that you can have 2 of the same types of cards this time around I seem to remember reading that on her blogg.
So all is saved and no lashes for you.
Your cards are really super and wonderful designs.
Love the card or paper used on the second one that is sich a super design.
So bright and cheerful too.

Son sorted out the shower hose for me naughty I know but I couldn't manage without it so it was sort of an emergancy.
Lots of crafty love and hugs from my house to yours. Jenny L.

I think you are okay with this one--both can be holiday cards this time. I love the patterned paper. The star centers right over that sentiment: have a holly jolly Christmas.

Brenda, thank you for this post and the laugh reading it. I needed something funny to read about today. :-) Cards are wonderful. On the first card stars are placed perfectly. On the second card you've use fantastic patterned paper for the background.
Stay safe! Hugs, Sonja

Two super cards Brenda, I love the contrast on the first one and pretty papers on the second.
I hope Darnell will be lenient!

(I won't tell...)Your post cracked me up this morning! Pretty sure that you wouldn't get the full thirty anyway, lol! They are still awesome cards, Brenda. Being a 'paperaholic,' I'm fully smitten with the ones you've used on both cards; both the cardstock and that patterned paper. And those stars are grand and glorious! They deserve to be front and center, too. Hope all is well with you. Thank you so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge! Stay safe and healthy. xo Bev

Pauline hopes I'll be lenient. Hahahahaha. We know better, don't we, Brenda?! While my lashes are warming in the oven, I have to say that if the brief was to use the same design on both cards (no! no!), these would be winners! You've really done a great job of making the stars the stars of the card! I especially love your simple second card with that fabulous pp. I have quite a bit of (ahem) mature Christmas pp and all it needs is a giant star in the middle and bam, done! Thank you for the inspiration and thank you so much for playing in TCC #33! I appreciate your support and actually I'm glad you entered anyway. I can't tell you how many times I've done the same thing! I feel all proud, put the cards across the room, turn to look at them and realize the design is the same or nearly the same. It happens. Onward to 2021!! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell

Obviously you love the design so much you used it on both! That may be a no-no for twofers challenge, but it’s a yes-yes from me. You nailed the star theme perfectly with these wonderful Christmas twofers.

Oh, I do love those stars even if they are the same design! I just read Darnell's comment, lol! Maybe she'll be lenient. I mean after all it nearly is the Christmas season, right? A gift to you?!:-) I do love the cards for you made those stars shine, so pretty!

What wonderful starry cards, Brenda! Love the stacked stars of different colors! It would make a good birthday or congratulations card too! Great use of patterned paper! I have quite a bit of that and star dies, hmmm! Thanks for the inspiration, my friend! (Good thing Dolly doesn't live close.)

Awesome Star cards, Brenda! I admit to getting carried away with different kinds of cards (one a Christmas and one a baby card) that I totally forgot about changing up the design of the card, until I was taking the pictures of them together and it hit me like a ton of bricks... so back to square one to come up with a design. I kept it simple though, so pretty easy peasy. Love the baby card though! (I knew I would get disqualified, because that Darnell will have her magnifying glasses on to catch us not playing by the rules! *wink *wink...we do love her so, though don't we? Oh wait, I just read Darnell's comment...even SHE makes the same mistake...we are all human after all!! Let's move on to a better 2021! Heart Hugs, friend!

2 great Christmas makes, and I especially like how you centered the sentiment in the 2nd card! Great CAS set of cards using stars!

Beautiful star cards Brenda. Glad you are working on your Christmas cards ... time is running out! :) Anyways, I thought Darnell wouldn't let the same design go. But on the upside, two wonderful Christmas cards for your stash! YAY! xx

We've all been there, Brenda (which is a bit of an issue for a DT member!)though knowing Darnell, I believe those 30 lashes might well turn into 30 splashes (of wodka or similar)! This is a great design ... whether with the star in bold colours ... or set against that fabulous pp background ... perfect for quick Christmas cards! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)

Your star dies look like the same ones I used & I do love them! Great design--no wonder you used it for both! I love the clean, fresh look of the first card & the neat printed paper for the 2nd!
