Playing with Perfect Pearls

You know how you buy a product when everyone is using it, use it a few times, then put it away and forget about it. That happened with my Perfect Pearls. I had forgotten how easy they are to use and the beautiful results you get with them. I recently got to do a class with my zoom mates and we made cards using them.

This card is gold PP spritzed with water on my craft mat, then smooshed on black card stock. I used a Simon Says die with gold card stock and left some of the leaves out to be able to show the background. Stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and brushed the gold PP over it.

This card uses a Poppy Stamps Majestic Leaf die. It was covered in Versamark ink then I swiped gold, red and green PP over it very gently. The background is DCVW burlap paper and the bow is Stampin' Up Copper Trim mesh ribbon. I am not sure if this will be a sympathy card yet so I'm not adding the sentiment.

My last card are pumpkin die cuts from Penny Black stamped with Versamark and copper and green PP added. I don't know the name of the pattern paper but the rest of the scene is Lawn Fawn. I stamped the sentiment right on the pumpkins.

This was so much fun and I've since made two more cards using PP. I hope you can visit my zoom mates and see what they created.

Happy Birthday

I'm so happy to be sending the happiest birthday wishes today to Nancy. Loll is hosting a birthday party for her and I hope you can join the party.

 https://www.stampingwithloll.com/2020/09/happy-birthday-nancy.html

I hope your day is wonderful, Nancy, and you enjoy the party. Wish I could be there in person with cake and ice cream. But here is a card instead.

I used Stampin' Up Lotus Blossom two step stamp for Nancy's card. The first stamping was done with Versamark, then dusted with gold Perfect Pearls. The second stamping was in Versamark and that takes away part of the Perfect Pearls and gives more dimension to the blossom. The Happy Birthday is die cut in gold and the navy panel is added to gold cardstock.

Fall is here!

Cool mornings and nights and lovely warm days. Started washing windows yesterday. Not as fun as making a card, but necessary. I did get a chance to make a card and I'm excited to enter it in two challenges.

I am loving this embossing with dies that is the current challenge for CAS Mix Up .  I used several of the dies in the Stampin' Up Forever Flourishing set to emboss a white card stock panel. Then using the stamps from the Forever Fern I stamped them in Aquatini and Juniper Mist inks from Catherine Pooler and layered them over the panel. Die cut the hello in turquoise card stock and layered over two white die cuts.

I also want to visit the Colorhues Challenge using Navy and Turquoise together. What a beautiful combination for us to use.

Christmas Tree

Time is getting close to enter the caschristmascardchallenge.blogspot.com/ this month that Colleen is hosting. She has chosen a Christmas Tree so this is my card.

I used a Hero Arts tree and stamped it in Versamark Ink. Then I brushed copper Perfect Pearls over the tree image and brushed the excess off. The sentiment is Stampin' Up and I used the same technique. Perfect Pearls leaves the prettiest shine.

Joseph's Coat of Many Colors

My first post on the new blogger. So far, so good! This is the above technique but it's not done quite right. I used a Catherine Pooler ink pad and was going to swipe it a bit for color but I stuck it right on the paper so I have bright orange imprints. Also a few green ones. I did get better with the yellow ink. I used Hero Arts wood mounted leaf stamps from 2000 to stamp, then added brown ink all over the panel and buffed off with a paper towel. It is mounted on yellow cardstock then white card base and the sentiment is a Lawn Fawn die cut in the same yellow.

Twofer trees

Before I get to my Twofer I want to thank everyone who commented on my candy corn post. OMG, I laughed so hard at the comments. You are all so great! Candy corn is my serious downfall and it scares me that it will be in the stores for seven more weeks, then on sale after that. I must be strong.

My post today is for the  https://twofercardchallenge.blogspot.com/ and it is trees. My first card is Kaiserkraft paper and my trees are die cut in gold  paper and wrapped in gold thread.  I know where all the products I used for these two cards are from except the tree die. It was out of it's packaging and put on a magnetic sheet in my Art Bin. The second card is a fussy cut squirrel from Papertrey Ink, an acorn from Tim Holtz and leaves and the sentiment from Lawn Fawn, along with the same tree cut in brown card stock. I made the leaves with Brushos and Color Burst with a technique that Viv of https://vivsvisuals.blogspot.com/ did on her blog. My Brushos backgrounds always came out so dark so I tried wetting the paper, then sprinkling on the Brushos. I had more control but left some white space so I sponged over it with yellow ink.  This is maybe too many leaves but I was so happy with them!
Oh dear, I am losing it! That tree die is from Stampin' Up framelits called In The Woods.  Duh!

Finally

I'm watching the NFL on CBS. Sorry, I'm just so happy to have football back. No card today.
Opened a bag of candy corn, put some in a custard cup and clipped bag shut, left in kitchen. Later, opened bag, took a few, clipped bag up, left in kitchen. Went in later, took clip off bag, carried into craft room. I'm doomed. Seven weeks until Halloween, oh dear.

Whoa, chilly

Taking Daisy out this morning was a chilly start to wake us up today. Very overcast and dreary and made me rethink my choice of clothes for today since it will be like this all day. Great cardmaking day!

This is a quick and simple birthday card . I am rooting around in my craft supplies and trying to  use things I bought for no reason and need to give some love to. These are Penny Black stickers from a sticker sheet. Just added to a card panel and stamped Happy Birthday and white embossed it. It may be an easy card but I bought the sticker sheet because I loved the flower, butterfly and the gorgeous colors so, of course, I love the way the card turned out.

Happy Labor Day

I hope you are all spending time with family today and still staying safe. I hope the cases don't start to rise again after this holiday.

Todays' card will be entered into CAS Mix Up calling for us to emboss with dies. I used a Gina K. leaf die and dry embossed a leaf on either side of a rust panel. Then using Impression Obession dies called Wheat I die cut two brown and one cream wheat stalk and glued them in the middle of the embossed leaves. This is a great way to stretch your dies a bit more. I added a sentiment from Penny Black in brown ink and embossed with clear powder and an orange and white twine bow. I used dry embossing, embossing with powder, die cuts and stamping on this card.

Playing in a new challenge

I don't play in a lot of challenges but I wanted to make a card for the new Color Hues challenge by Nancy. I am delighted to add this card today. I made it for my Daughter in Law's birthday using a Thinlits Sizzix Intricate Lace die in yellow and die cutting the green leaves with a die from Memory Box called Fresh Foliage.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up embossed in Butter Zing embossing powder. A great challenge and it's fun to combine colors.

Same paper pack

While I had the Ciao Bella paper out I found a page of cut a parts and really wanted to use all of them. The frame is a NBUS from Lawn Fawn and I just added all the different pictures from the paper. Fall is such a beautiful time of year with stunning colors and I think this card speaks for itself and needs nothing else. Very simple. I will share this at NBUS.
