Twofers

I spent the day in my craft room and was able to make my twofercardchallenge  #24 for this month. The prompt is fruit and I had a great stamp set to use and cannot find it. So I improvised.

The first card is using a stamp set and paper  from Lawn Fawn. I colored the watermelon with Copics, glued one down and popped up the other one.

The second card is unconventional using the same watermelon stamp to stamp two and connect at the point and calling it a  ladybug! I colored the whole bug with Copics and added a small circle for it's head. Then I drew in antenna and legs. I added a Die Namic circle frame and sponged around the edges of the panel. The sentiment is a red rubber one I picked up at a Craft Fair so I don't know it's name. This is one BIG ladybug!

Be kind to one another.

This is a great Twofer, Brenda! That watermelon (or waterlemon as my great-niece calls it), looks fantastic. That LF paper on your first card is perfect for a 'happy summer' card, and boy, with snow coming down again, I'm really looking forward to it, too! I really like the little ants going after your sweet treat, too. But...how darn brilliant to turn the watermelon into a chubby lady bug! That is such a great idea, and I love this idea!! A pair of fabulous cards!! Thanks so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge!! xo Bev

Second choices can often bring great results. How clever to make a ladybug out of your watermelon stamp. I love the little trail of ants going after the watermelon. That ladybug is just cute and appropriate for that sentiment. I think you nailed this one. Rooting for you to win.

Well I am glad you used these stamps as these cards are so well designed and clever. I am trying to limit taking out supplies so most of the cards I am making at this time are ones I already had in the works. I don't want to have so much to clean up again. So I don't know if I will get this Twofer challenge in or not.

Your watermelon looks so juicy and fresh that it makes my mouth water, Brenda! Making the slices into a ladybug was so creative and fun! A perfect sentiment too! Well done, my friend!

I don't know what possessed you to think of using those sweet little watermelon slices as ladybug wings, Brenda, but I am mega impressed and pickled tink over your designs! Love, love, love them both! It's a good thing you couldn't find your fruit set or these delightful designs wouldn't have been made and it's a good thing you put that bug inside a pen so she couldn't get out and terrorize the world!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #24! Hugs, Darnell

Brenda, you are one clever gal! I am loving both your cards, the traditional watermelon scene is adorable-loving those ants. But the ladybug card just blows my mind! What a fun way to use a watermelon slice! I never in a million years, would have thought to do this! I wish I could think out of the box better, but I just don't have the brain for it. lol But you do my friend, wonderful and creative cards! Hugs, Brenda

Oh my goodness, Brenda! What fun, fantastic cards! I love seeing that sunshine beam down on those little ants going after the watermelon! You get an A+ for creativity and execution of that lovely ladybug! I love the die cut ring around her too! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

Wow, Brenda, these are fabulous! How did you come up with the idea of using the melon halves as a ladybird, so creative. x

How funny that we used the same stamp. What was bad for me was that I had to play around with those watermelons and thought of a ladybug only to see that you had the idea too. So, off to plan B for me. I started to make a butterfly but ended up with the flower. Lovely job on both of your cards. [Bunny]

Such a great idea, and your execution of the ladybug card kept it nice and on-trend! I love the gentle background of tone-on-tone sunrays behind the stark antlings - very effective. Great job on both! :o) Blessings! Nancy
