Llama luck

This adorable llama stamp set came in my order from Simon Says Stamp and I had to use it to play in the at CAS watercolour challenge. I water colored the llama with Zig watercolor brush markers and a water brush. I love the little shamrocks on his blanket and hat. The embossing folder is Darice. I wanted to ground him but I just mess up the whole card when I try that. If anyone has tips on how to do that I would appreciate it.

Be kind to one another.

Too cute & I love the embossing folder! I'm not one to ask about grounding, but I did make an attempt with the little strokes of green at the base of my cherry tree. For some images I think it works to just tie on twine, but not for an animal. Anyway, I know the recipient will love getting this card, Brenda!

this Llama is adorable and I love that he has so many shamrocks! Maybe just scribble a bit of light gray under his feet, that way you really can't mess it up because it is like a shadow and doesn't stand out like green grass would! But I know what you mean about messing it up when I apply a grounding color...I often wish I hadn't done that! But try a light gray at first and then if you like it you could go a little darker...or NOT!! Heart Hugs, friend!

How about putting the shadow down first and then stamping your image on top and then colouring in. Your Llama is very cute btw. Hope you are keeping well in these worrying times. Hugs

This really is a cute llama and I love that he's all decked out for the St. Patrick's day festivities - even if he will be out to pasture on the farm this year and not in any parade! Hope you are well in the midst of this madness and continue to stay well too!

What a cute St. Patrick's Day card, Brenda! Love that llama! I like to use a watercolor pencil for grounding. I have more control and can just scribble a little bit and blend out with my waterbrush.

Cute card and so fun! He sure looks ready to celebrate! As to grounding I start with less and if I don't like it one can always add more. But even a little gray below will give that illusion.

Oh my gosh ... this is so adorable, Brenda!! What a fun stamp and sentiment! No wonder you had to play with him right away. The shamrock embossing in the background is fantastic too. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx

How sweet is this lama! You've colored it very nice. I don't think it is necessary to ground it. In the beautiful land of card making, lama don't need to stay on the ground. :-))
Stay safe! Hugs, Sonja

Hi Brenda,
that is one sweet Lama and you have coloured that stamp beautifully.
Great embossing also.
That is the second Lama I have seen today so perhaps we are going to have a lot of Lamas over the coming weeks.
Makes a change from Flamingos.
I do hope you are okay now and feeling much better.
Lots of crafty love and germ free hugs from my house to yours. Jenny L.

So cute with your llama wearing an Irish hat and having shamrocks on his blanket! Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Christmas!

OMG, how stinking cute is your Irish llama, Brenda! This is so fun!! I love how proud he is of his Irish heritage ... all the way down to his shamrock e/f!! You have some great tips on grounding and an image like this is great for practicing because the feet are so tiny. I usually just use a pencil to draw a tiny line off to the left even with the bottom of the feet. Then stop and look at it from afar. Sometimes all you need is just a light line. I hope you're doing well and settled in for the duration. Please take care of yourself!! Hugs and love, Darnell xxoo

What a cute card Brenda, I can see why you needed to use this little cutie! He is looking pretty proud in his Irish getup and pretty snazzy looking to boot. I love that embossing folder, I don't think I own any clover embossing folders. I hope you are staying in Brenda and taking care of yourself! You already have breathing issues so you don't need this virus to attack your lungs! So please take good care of yourself and stay away from people. Hugs, Brenda

Oh, my! I do LOVE the Irish llama, Brenda! Wonderful embossed background with the shamrocks, too! For grounding, I would say a few little lines with a copic underneath the llama. Or, at times I just make a strip of paper across the panel. Take good care, hugs!!

Llama tell you how adorable this is! I’ve never seen a lucky llama, but love it.

Hi Brenda - thanks for your lovely comments on my cards lately - your llama is adorable and perfect for the challenge - I usually sponge some light color under my object to ground - a longer thin line right underneath and then graduating downward.

What a darling llama and a great pun! The shamrock ef is wonderful with it! One easy way to ground an image is to get a thin oval stamp. I found a stamp set from Paper Smooches called "shadows" years ago, but you might find one in a set you already own. You can stamp it on the card and add your die cut image or, if the image is stamped on the card, just use a light gray ink for the oval and color the feet right over the ink.
