Gosh, Tuesday was 51 degrees here and yesterday it was a wind chill of 24 with high winds and snow off and on all day, some really heavy. I guess winter has returned. We have been lucky with warm weather for the holidays. This weekend it is possible to have 3-6 " of snow. Perfect card making weather.
I have started my Valentines but I don't make very many since I don't have much Valentine "stuff". . I am going to pull out stamps that can be used and improvise. I want to keep myself on a stamping budget this year and not buy something just because I like it. To make this card I used red pepper ink from Adirondack sponged through a Memory Box stencil called Smash. I die cut it with a Spellbinders die and mounted it on a white panel, then a kraft one and added it to my card base. The white heart is die cut from paper that is hand made and textured. The metal arrow is Tim Holtz and the sentiment is Hero Arts. I used a Copic marker to color in the tiny little hearts in the sentiment in krafty looking ink. I am entering this is the brand new CAS Stencil Challenge. The first challenge is sponging. I sponged, stamped, used die cuts and embellishment.
Be kind to one another.

Your stencilling looks amazing, Brenda, very eye-catching and the metal arrow is a lovely touch. A beautiful Valentine's card.
The snow is lightly falling and it's 14 degrees - Brrr! Your stenciling looks great behind your die cut heart. I looks like it's radiating love and gives movement to your card.
Love this card, Brenda. The stencilling is beautiful. xx
Great card, Brenda. Love this stencil. Kisses, my friend.
Fantastic card Brenda, and thankyou for your kind words,as always! Love the stencil you've used, (I have this one too) but would never thought to have paired it with a heart, it looks perfect as the focal point. Love the font on the sentiment too. Cathy x
Beautiful Valentines day card Brenda, love your stenciled background and that perfect arrow :)
What a pretty stencil & I love the beautiful font of the sentiment! Stay warm & safe, my friend!
Your stencil is so pretty sponged in red, Brenda. Love the beautiful texture heart made from handmade paper. And the metal arrow is just perfect to finish the design. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Stencil! xx
Oh, my! What a lovely card, Brenda! Awesome effect with the stenciling. Love the heart and arrow! And, great design for your wonderful card. I think we will be getting some snow this weekend, too. Take care and stay warm!
Winter is back here too Brenda. It always kills me when it is 50 degrees one day and the next we are in the 20's with wind chills in the teens! We aren't supposed to get much snow though as long as it stays to the south of us like they think it will. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will! Wow Brenda, good for you for sticking with your stash and not buying just because you like something! I love how this card came out and I love that you used what you had! The sponging looks great and I loved your heart with that arrow. Your sentiment is really fun too. Glad you played along with the new challenge. I need to see what I have to play along as well. I don't do many Valentine's either, always made a Valentine/Anniversary card for Dwayne, and sent to the grands. That is about it. I usually baked the guys goodies instead of a card. lol Hugs, Brenda
Beautiful stencil design and that heart looks so great against that background too. Yes, we had really cold weather for New Years and then we went to a January thaw. Now we too are back to winter. It is no wonder people get sick so easily this time of year. Hope you stay well now.
Wow, this is stunning, Brenda!! The sponging looks amazing!! I love the stencil you used!! It's so gorgeous!! I'm not ready for the snow. I hope the forecasters are wrong!! Have a great weekend!! Big hugs :)

That stencil looks perfect behind that throbbing heart for Valentine's Day, Brenda! Very clever! I have that old wooden sediment, too! Good for you for using the schtuffs you already have. I'm going to try and do the same here ... lots of NBUS and product that's been used but hasn't been loved for years. What shall we call that? BUBNFY. LBF. LOAF ... aha, that's it! Loved Once And Forgotten! I've got dibs on that, lol! Hugs, Darnell xxoo
What a lovely lacy looking stencil radiating out of your pretty die cut heart Brenda - so pretty with the metal arrow and script sentiment! thanks so much for joining us in the 1st CAS Stencil challenge! xx
