I truly love sunflowers and thought I might enter another card in the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge. Usually I make blobs when I do a stencil monoprint. A while back when I tried it before Loll gave me some advice so I'm doing this again. My first card is with Brushos and Color Burst through a stencil. It blobbed a bit in the center but otherwise I like it. The second card was done twice as the first one did blob. It is done with the same powders with green added. The third card is the blob! Persistance pays off.  I'm also going to enter the first card in the CAS Watercolor Card Challenge.   The stencil used on the first card is Stencil Girl and the second card uses a Plaid stencil. Be kind to one another.

Perseverance really did pay off. You look like you have been having fun with this technique Brenda? Such a unique and glorious effect on your first fabulous card...great colours too. Thank you again for joining in the fun at The CAS Mix UP Challenge x.

One trick I have discovered with the Stencil Monoprint technique and Brushos is to be very careful and not add too much of the pigment powder. Spritzing liberally with water can help prevent blobs too and then if water pools in some areas dab carefully with a paper towel and if you want the colors lighter roll a roll of paper towel lightly over the piece. Practice does help. I have also discovered that I like using mixed media watercolor paper the best. Especially Strathmore mixed media. It handles a lot of spritzing with water and the inks seem to blend the best. Your sunflower was definitely a keeper, Brenda. So pleased you joined us at CAS Mix Up. Hugs...Nancy

Go you for trying this fun technique, Brenda! Until this last one I tried, even my first ones looked like your last one, so it does pay to keep trying! I have to say my fave is that first one! I think you should do it again without the sediment and frame it!! Hugs, Darnell

My hats off to you for even trying Brenda! I haven't not tried this technique yet but want too. I love how your top sunflower came out, so beautiful are the colors-so fall looking! I also love the second one as well-you got a good print on that sunflower and really came far from the last one. Well done my friend! Hugs, Brenda

Good for you at trying this monoprinting technique. I keep hoping for time and inspiration to strike, as I like sunflowers too (and have a sunflower stencil I think!). Your 1st effort looks like some I've done, but #2 really showed a lot of improvement. Good for you at perservering. And I absolutely love #3 with that blaze of color. You've done such great strides at conquering all these techniques! Catch up soon. Have a great weekend, TFS & Hugs

Great job on these sunflowers, Brenda! Love the first card with the Brushos through the stencil! A beautiful example! The second sunflower monoprint is so crisp and perfect! The third card looks like most of my tries at stenciling. LOL! It's not a perfect science but it sure it fun! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up and CAS Watercolour!

Hi Brenda. I LOVE your first card. That brushos sunflower is GORGEOUS and very artsy. The second turned out well, but the colours did get muted quite a bit ... maybe too much water?? The third ... well, it happens. Nancy gave some good advice above. I hope it hasn't turned you off this technique. It's a great technique for making beautiful background and main images. Thanks for sharing your cards with us at CAS Mix Up and CAS Watercolour! xx
