I could not enter my encrusted jewel leaf card to the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge because I did not stamp on that card. The sentiment was a cut-a-part from Kaiser Craft. I still wanted to try the technique again and what I did is one of those "Don't try this at home" things. It rained last night so the glitter on my patio is washed away so I was ready to try again. If a griddle would work, why not a skillet? It's kind of like a griddle. I used my new Penny Black bodacious die stamped with Versamark and put it on parchment paper in a skillet. I covered it with Zing apricot e/p then sprinkled Ranger gold tinsel e/p lightly over that. I turned my gas burner on low and waited. It took a bit but it all melted. Where there was e/p between the flowers it melted that right into the flower so I waited till it was cool, then sort of peeled it off. It didn't all come off the stem but it was so delicate I was afraid to try anymore. I used a Darice embossing folder and stamped the greeting with a SU stamp. I love how it turned out and will do this again. So I will enter this in the challenge since I used a die cut, embossing layered powders and stamped. Be kind to one another.

Brenda this is stunning...the colors on the flowers are so very pretty! Even if it couldn't be entered into the challenge at least you have another card for the stash because it is just as beautiful! Have a happy day!! Heart Hugs, col

Gorgeous card Brenda. Love that apricot embossing powder on the poppies ... it's so pretty! You did a great job using your skillet! I find that if I have extra embossing powder that's melted and pooled off the die-cut, I sort of slide the die-cut to one side of the parchment paper (using a stick or skewer or something like that). When you slide it in the opposite direction of where the excess eb is, it tends to separate. Hope that helps. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous card with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

Your card is beautiful. I love that flower. What with you using a skillet and another blogging friend her pancake maker I feel a bit left out. Can I just bring the jam and cream along!! lol.
Thank you for the super joke for my grandson. I will be including it in his next card.
Hugs Mrs A.

You are amazing me with all these nifty new techniques you're trying out and scoring such big hits with. This is a new one to me, (and I don't have a skillet I can use to melt stuff either!) What a lovely look with the delicate lacey oval behind it. You rocked this, and I'm scrolling down to see the leaves! I'm so proud of you!TFS & Hugs

Eep, you did it again! This is sensational, Brenda! And go you for trying it on the stove like we talked about! I thought from your "don't do this at home" comment that it didn't work, but it worked fantastically and the sediment and doily are perfect choices!! Hugs, Darnell

Beautiful poppies and so glad it was a qualifying entry for you this time. I just hate when you put lots of work into something and then manage to forget some little detail. LOL But it has happened to me more then once. I think we are having so much fun we forget everything else.

Not heard of that technique.
Hope all is well with you.

Such a unique effect with the technique and what a stunning and beautiful card. Sometimes I get carried away and with the fun technique that I have forgotten to stamp too x. Great advice from Loll and how to loose the molten embossing powders, especially off the delicate parts. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful card with us at The CAS Mix Up Challenge x

So beautiful, Brenda! I still have an electric skillet I got over 15 yrs ago to use for UTEE, but haven't gotten it out in ages. You've inspired me!

This is a beautiful and stunning card Brenda! I love how your encrusted image turned out, so pretty! I am totally crushing on that embossing folder you used too. Who is that by??? Love it! I too, used a skillet. I used one of those copper skillets because nothing is supposed to stick to it, right?! lol Any way the difference I did was I had a TH craft sheet, had cut it up into manageable pieces a while back. So used one of those to lay in my skillet, turned on the burner, then took my heat gun and heated it up then held it high above my image and let the heat from the bottom and top melt my powders. Worked perfectly and my skillet is still good to use. It also pealed off the TH craft mat without any issues. I guess we think alike my friend! Hugs, Brenda
