This is the first card I've made from Online Card Class Stretch Your Stamps 2. It was shown by Sheri Carroll at http://shari-design.blogspot.com/ on the first day and I loved it. I have to admit it took a long time. She didn't show how she lined up the little squares so that took me a long time. I do love the technique and would do the background again. Lining up the little squares I would have to think about. There is probably a trick to it that I don't know that makes it easier but I got it done. Be kind to one another.
I forgot to say I am linking this up for http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com/ since I used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch again on piece of scrap paper and also to Mrs. A's butterfly challenge at http://butterflyspotchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/.

Your card looks fantastic, I like those squares and the butterfly in the center!! I am glad that you had a good day out shopping (previous post!) and it looks like you made a good haul!
Such a pretty background you've made. If you find an easy way to line up the squares - do share!
Hi Brenda, This is great! I don't know any little tricks either, maybe write to Shari & ask! Probably has a blog. I didn't take this class, and from the looks of this card, I should have. The colors & textures on the inchies is wonderful and I like the design layout. You should check out Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge. Well done, you!!! Like this one lots. TFS & Hugs
I love your inky squares as the background on your card. Maybe drawing faint lines in pencil first where the squares need to go would help line them up for you.
Thankyou for fluttering by my challenge. (Hugs Mrs A. Butterfly challenge).
That is fabulous! Wonderful use of snippets. When you say you are struggling with lining them up do you mean before or after? I know when I did something similar I used masking tape on the back of my pre cut squares to hold them together before stamping. I also used masking tape to line up the position of them on my mat. I put the tape at the bottom and worked my way across adding marks to the gaps in between. I've also used a blob of wet glue that takes time to dry so that I have time to tweak. I hope that is helpful for you Brenda but if it's all stuff you know please accept my apologies.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment on my blog Karen x
Oh I am loving this card Brenda! You did a great job lining up your squares and I really love the colors in this one. Hugs, Brenda
Gorgeous card Brenda! i think the lining up was fine - the advice given by others is all good stuff though. When I'm lining up three across and three down I always do the outside corners first - that gives me room to work in the middle if I'm just eyeballing. If that makes sense!
I found your link took me to Flickr again - have changed it so that folk will come to your blog.
Hugs, Di xx
Your homework is fantastic, Brenda! I know you were chomping at the bit to get a card made from the class. It looks like it's a great class from what I'm seeing around Blogland. Enjoy it and thanks for sharing and inspiring us!! (I'm embarrassed that I still haven't finished half the Watercolor class! Shame! This weekend ... I keep saying that!)
I struggle with lining up multiple squares, too. If there are nine, I usually start smack in the middle and go out for the middle row and then up and down, but sometimes I start at the corners, so I'm no help, lol!!
I thought of you yesterday. There was a small article in our tiny local paper about an underground blast that shook Indianapolis! It said no one was injured, thank God. That must have been unnerving!
Have a great weekend! Hugs, Darnell
I absolutely love this card, Brenda!
Brenda, thanks for your visit & sweet comment. Hope all is going well and that you had a great time at Stampaway! Hugs
