Still Fall

This is a card we did in SU class. We were to color each leaf a different color but I used several different markers to color on the same leaf. I thought it made them look more like changing colors for fall. It looked kind of bland so my friend, Audrey, said it should be sprayed with Glitter Dust. That gave it a shine and added a bit of pizazz. It doesn't show up that well in the picture but it does shine.

Then back to fall cards

I seem to be going back and forth from fall to Christmas. I always finish one holiday before I start another but this year I'm doing both at once. This panel was embossed with a We R Memory Keepers embossing folder. The little red birds are a die cut and the leaves are cut in gold with a  Gina K. die.  I added dots to the bird eyes with enamel accents.

Two Christmas cards for Twofer

This month we get to make two cards for the same occasion in the  https://twofercardchallenge using holiday greenery. I used a die from Stampin' Up for my greenery. The first card uses handmade paper that reminded me of snow and pine cone dies from SU. I stamped them on brown c/s then went over them with gold paint to show the ridges on the pine cones, then used a SU die to cut them out. Tucked under the greenery and added a green bow.

The second card is an Elizabeth Craft die gifted to me by my friend, Mary. The same greenery is used and also a flower from the same EC die set. It didn't show up against the candle so I added Stickles to it so it could shine too.

I ate those donuts!

A good thing, a bad thing and a strange thing

The good thing is the card I made and am entering  for the https://casmixup.blogspot.com/ challenge this month called oxidized metal. I used copper mirror c/s and added silver, then gold embossing powder over it one at a time and drying in between. The embossing folder is from Darice.

We have a new bakery and I stopped there when I was out yesterday. I got three different kinds of donuts and sat the bag on the seat next to me. When I backed up the bag flew off the seat and landed on the floor, throwing all three donuts on the floor. I said a very unladylike word and picked them back up. That was the bad thing.

I went to my next errand and when I came out a large black truck was parked facing me in the lane in front of me. The second picture is the strange thing I saw inside. Very interesting day and now I know why I stay home a lot!

Great crafting weather

We are having the best stamping weather ever here! Even Molly is ready to stamp instead of going outside. I'm finished with the few fall cards I've made and ready to move on to Christmas now. I did make some to take to the retreat but still need more.

This cute card was made at Stampin' Up this past week. I had missed several classes and I really missed the gals so I was so happy to be back and glad I didn't miss this cute card.

Brrr!

The cold front is moving across the midwest this week and it is so cold everywhere. The only good thing that comes of that is the water is so nice and cold right out of the tap. No ice cubes needed.

This was one of the techniques I shared at the retreat last month. Very simple to do and a fun result. I used a Stampin' Up embossing folder and ink, then with gold embossing powder. The thankful die is Reverse Confetti and the embellishment is a Bo Bunny laser chipboard. This is called Faux Patina and you can see a video by mynnette kitchen on You Tube.

A sparkly snowflake

Despite the clean and very concise explanation I had with Molly Saturday night about the time change she still got up at 6:20 am Sunday morning. I clearly explained it would be an hour earlier and she didn't need to get up so early but it fell on deaf ears. Sunday seemed like it went on forever. I was in bed at 10:30 and read until 11:15 and we got up this morning at 6:20. It is like having an alarm clock that doesn't buzz. I'm not a big fan of getting up that early since I retired but having never worked, Molly doesn't care.

This is another card I made at the retreat using Colleen's technique of scribbling Copic markers in ombre colors, then using Nuvo glitter paste over the top of it. The colors look darker in person and I borrowed the snowflake die.
