Another thirty days

I love staying home but knowing I'm not supposed to go out is hard. I keep in touch with my family every day and talk to my friends and neighbors too but it's not the same. I'm not motivated to do much and on top of that there was a water main break near here and we have to boil the water for 48 hours. I didn't realize how many times a day I turn on the tap. Can't run the dishwasher or washing machine. If we take showers right now or use hot water we fill up the water heater with tainted water so it would be longer until we use that water up. Thank goodness I have bottled water to drink and brush my teeth. It's actually a good thing I can't go out right now. Between cancelling my hair appointment even before they closed and not being able to wash my hair, it is better if no one sees me!
I am crafting some and catching up on movies that I don't usually watch.

I started my Easter cards and this one is very simple. The yellow paper is Lawn Fawn and the chick is cut from Alexandra Renke paper with a circle die. The sentiment is Stampin' Up and the tiny heart is Doodlebug for a pop of color. I thought this chick is so cute and perfect for Easter.

I am entering this card into https://theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.com/ that Trina gave me a heads up about. Thank you, Trina. The challenge is Yellow Makes Me Happy.

A purrfect card

I decided to make a birthday card for a cat lover and this is the result.  I used a Lawn Fawn set and unidentified die for the frame. I love that tiny mouse, it cracks me up.

I hope you are all sheltering in place and keeping safe.

CAS Mix Up card challenge is celebrating their fourth birthday. I wish you the happiest of birthdays and I was intrigued by the challenge this month. It is using acrylic paints on your card. My acrylic paints were kind of dried up from Deco Art and then I realized I had Tim Holtz Distress Paint. I only have five colors so my choice was limited. I used green, yellow and a teeny bit of blue. This was supposed to be a dirty pour but since I didn't use enough paint it ended up being a dirty smeared around with a paintbrush technique. After it dried I used a Memory Box die called Bursting Berry Vine Border to cut it out. On a white c/s panel I used a LDRS stencil for clouds and die cut two gray bunnies and one tan bunny from Impression Obession dies. I tucked one into the vines and two resting on the grassy part. The sentiment is Verses. You can now hardly see the paint! I used acrylic paints, stamping, die cutting and ink blending.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I want to welcome a new follower, Viv of https://vivsvisuals.blogspot.com/. You will love the gold poinsettia she posted yesterday and enjoy looking at her beautiful creations on her blog.

I also want to thank everyone for their tips on grounding. For some reason that is hard for me and I will be trying each one of these to see what works best for me.

This is not a St. Patrick's Day card but a thank you instead. I sponged the background and used a Simon Says Stamp curvy scalloped die and the hearts are cut from their die too. The paper is Lawn Fawn and the thank you is an Xcut.

I hope you are all being safe and staying in. This is so scary right now and affects all of us, so my wish for everyone is to be well.

Llama luck

This adorable llama stamp set came in my order from Simon Says Stamp and I had to use it to play in the at CAS watercolour challenge. I water colored the llama with Zig watercolor brush markers and a water brush. I love the little shamrocks on his blanket and hat. The embossing folder is Darice. I wanted to ground him but I just mess up the whole card when I try that. If anyone has tips on how to do that I would appreciate it.

Guest Designer for Twofer

I am delighted to be a guest designer this month for the Twofer Challenge.

It is  a design challenge as explained below.

The prompt this month is Spring Animals

I used three Sunny Studio stamp sets for the lamb on both cards, the bunnies, chicks and the Easter eggs. They were all colored with Copics and fussy cut. The grass was cut twice with a Lawn Fawn die and the Easter sentiment is DeNami. A Hero Arts stamp was used for the Missing Ewe.

Stencil fun

A beautiful sunshiney day and I was excited to not see gray clouds. Yesterday was so cold and windy and today it's warm and sunny. It changes every day.

I wanted to play in the CAS Stencil challenge using heat embossing.

I used the bottom of a Tim Holtz stencil and taped off the leaves in the lower corner. Using a sponge I dabbed VersaMark ink in the blossoms then heat embossed with Zing Watermelon powder. Then I taped off the blossoms and sponged VersaMark through the leaves and embossed in Zing Leaf powder. I like how it came out and it was fun to do. The sentiment if Hero Arts.

I made a card

Whew, that was a long stretch of not making cards or doing much of anything. I still miss Molly and will for a long time but I am doing better. The hardest thing is to tell people for the first time that didn't know. I always tear up.

My next door neighbor did a kind thing for me recently and I needed to get a card made for her.
The die I used for the sunflowers has been taken out of it's package so I don't know who made it. The scalloped die is Simon Says Stamp and the paper is Lawn Fawn. It really felt good to get into my craft room again.
