Still another week!

This week was worst than the previous week and I am pooped. Yesterday I got back in my craft room and almost ended up in tears. I spent the morning thinking, designing, coloring, stenciling and fussy cutting for a new card. I was so pleased at how it was going. I stopped for lunch and came back to finish it. I stamped the greeting and colored in the heart with red Copics.  Then decided to add wink of stella and that's when disaster hit. The very last step! WOS blobbed on the red heart, which of course smeared the red Copic coloring. I tried to soak up the WOS blob, then rubbed it a bit. You do not want to do that. That was the near tears part. I chopped off the top part of the card and walked away. This morning I looked at it with fresh eyes and no anger and started again. That was too much work to give up. I mounted the bottom half on a card front and re-stamped the greeting and colored with a red  Distress Marker. Then added the rick rack to cover the seam. It will do. The second picture is what the top looked like before. ACK! I will catch up with all of you as soon as I can.

Be kind to one another.

Ugh it's always the finishing touches isn't it! You made a great job of rescuing it though, and it's well worth all that work. Hope you have a better week xxx

I always say there are no mistakes in cardmaking - as long as you have embellishments or are able to crop out the boo-boos, you end up with a great card! What a wonderful save on this project, and I feel your pain, but walking away was the right thing to do! Whenever you come back, you come back with a new perspective and I love how this card turned out! Saved by the ric-rac indeed :) Good job!

Oh, dear! I feel your pain as I know all to often how that can happen. But with the addition of the rick rack I think you have made it even more wonderful! I love the end result. So glad you walked away and looked at it fresh again. Sometimes that is the best thing to do! And in your case it was a blessing that in doing that you created an even better design.

Oh how I hate it when that happens and I’ve been there many times. But so good you walked away and didn’t give up. Great save and card... would have never known had I not read your post.

Great save for your boo-boo. Had you not told us this story, we would never known. So glad you didn't discard that bottom half. With the rickrack added, it looks like that is what you intended after all.

I can sure sympathize with you, Brenda! I've done the same thing and it's so disheartening. BUT, you recovered beautifully and the rick rack adds a fun addition! Love the image and the sentiment! Great save, my friend!

You would be in TOP 3 if there were a challenge how to rescue the card. :-) Perfectly done. There is no damage to see on the finished card. I can understand your near-to-tears feeling. :-)
The design of your card is awesome. And also the coloring.
Have a great week!
Hugs, Sonja
