Nautical Twofer

I don't know if everyone does this, but this is my way of deciding what to make. When I saw nautical as the prompt for the  this month, I knew I had "stuff" to do that one. So I gathered what seemed nautical to me all on my desk. That's what that hodgepodge of stamps are on my desk. By the process of eliminating what I don't want to use I end up with what I do want to use.

The first card is a Stampin' Up sailboat sailing on a Hero Arts wave background stamp. Handmade group of clouds and s sentiment from Love from Lizzie.  The second card is a stamp and sentiment from Lawn Fawn, same waves and a porthole cut from circle Spellbinders dies. Then Cassie got in on the act. Seems she is obsessed with bling and couldn't wait to add the gems around the porthole. They are gray but don't look like it in the picture. Once I knew what I wanted to use the cards went together so quick.

Be kind to one another.

I do that gathering thing to, Brenda, and like you, I discovered that I have a TON of ocean-related schtuffs! But I don't have that cool Hero Arts wave stamp! I love how stylized it is! I swear I actually feel movement of the sailboat and I love the way you did your clouds! Your second design is jawsome with that jumping whale and beautiful sunset through porthole! Cassie did a great job with the bling accents! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #19! Hugs, Darnell

Love how you used the wave stamp to create your twofer, Brenda. Two very different cards and I like the punny sentiment on the second. Cassie, great job with the bling! x

These are both beautiful, Brenda. I tend to lay all kinds of stuff out too. Sometimes so much, there isn't any room to work. lol I really love the water stamp....so cool! Nautical is always fun to do.

What fun and wonderful Twofers Brenda! I love that water stamp you used, it is so cool looking. I also love the sailboat and the shark, the only sharks I like are on cards! lol I love that Cassie got in on the act with the bling, nothing wrong with some bling. Well done on this challenge. I do about the same as you do, get out what I have that fits the theme and then chose from there sometimes. Other times I just know what I want to use. That doesn't happen often though! Hugs, Brenda

These are both so cute, Brenda. What a wonderful job you did masking or fussy cutting! neither one of those is my favorite thing. Love how the while looks like it's jumping out of the water.

Those waves are amazing, Brenda ... it really looks as though that yacht is bobbing about in them ... such a great sense of movement! Puts me in mind of the painting in the Narnia story of the Voyage Of The Dawn Treader! The bling round the 'porthole' on your second card is perfect ... like rivets only much more glitzy! That little shark is adorable frolicking in the waves under the warm sun ... such a sweet scene! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)

That sounds like quite the decision-making process, but well worth it. Wonderful twofers, Brenda. The waves background is perfect for your cards. I remember missing out on that SU! sailboat. And it does appear we were on the same porthole wavelength... the jewels for nails is awesome. xx

Wow--you nailed it, Brenda--so creative! 2 fabulous cards that look completely different from each other! The jewels are perfect around the porthole!

Two brilliant cards. Love the second card with the pothole and the wording. I need a male birthday card for September and was thinking of using a sailing ship. Thanks for the inspiration. Hugs Mrs A.

That's how I roll, too, Brenda! Except I've got all my stamps on Evernote and so all I have to do is type in a key word, scroll through the stamps, and choose. Your cards are wonderful!! Can't decide which I like more, so I'm going with both! LOVE that boat on the open sea. The waves really compliment the boat's style, and those clouds look amazing! I know several of my grandboys would love that shark! That porthole is a great idea, too. Like we're on a cruise ship somewhere...wouldn't that be nice?!! Thanks for joining us at the Twofer Challenge! So happy to see you in the gallery. xoxo Bev

Yep, I do that too! I love how you combined your stamp sets for two very different ocean scenes! The sailboat and sentiment look like they were made to go together. It's so calming to watch sailboats on a lake. That shark is adorable! I am glad to be on this side of that port hole though, and Cassie dressed it up in style! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

It's a great way of starting yourself off Brenda! I love the 'jawsome' sentiment and the porthole with bling, and how calm the sailboat looks, floating off towards that beautiful sky!
