Sad announcement today

I have tried to read everyone's blog and get caught up this morning. If I missed you, I'm sorry. I am having severe carpal tunnel symptoms in both hands and arms. I have exercises to do every hour, along with ice packs and splints at night. The exercises are helping but I have to limit my computer time. Ack! It's either scroll through all my blog friends and comment or make cards. Doing dishes and housework were the first things I gave up for the good of my health! Priorities, right?  I hope to be able to do both soon (cards and comments, not housework) but right now I am focusing on making a card,  maybe one every other day. I've known this for quite a while now but kept thinking it really wouldn't happen. Ha. Making cards isn't too bad since I'm not doing the same thing over and over. Hopefully with rest and exercises this will improve. It needs to hurry as I have things to do! In the meantime, I have a few cards I haven't posted yet so I won't be completely gone. Hugs to all of you and I'll be back!

Be kind to one another.

Sending gentle hugs and love as you rest and ice and recuperate so you can avoid surgery. I was just wondering this the other day: don't they have voice to text capability? I have seen my DIL talk into her phone and the phone makes a note for her. So how do we get our laptops and PCs to do this for us? Right? Alexa, tell Brenda I think her card is utterly gorgeous. Of course, with our luck, this is what would be typed: Brenda, your cow is utterly engorged.

There now, you see? You haven't lost your sense of humor so this little bump in the road will just be temporary and we'll see you back here soon!! Mwah! Hugs, Darnell

Hi Brenda, sorry to hear of your illness. Rest up and do whatever it takes to get better. I hope laughing doesn't pain you as Darnell's comment above had me nearly rolling on the floor! Which would not be good as I probably would struggle to get back up again. Take care, Cathy x

So sorry to hear this, Brenda! Take care of yourself and get better. I for one don't want you to comment on my posts and hurt yourself further. Just look and enjoy! xoxo

Please just take care of your hands and don't worry about commenting. Do what you're able to do and don't worry about the rest. I'll stop by as often as possible. The thumb, index and middle finger on my right hand have been numb for several months now, and they tell me it's carpal tunnel but I haven't decided what to do to fix it yet. The last time I had it, my chiropractor fixed it in one 15 minute visit, but he's retired now........sigh. Good luck!

Oh Brenda--if it isn't one thing it's another! So sorry it's gotten to this point, but good decision on giving up the housework--haha! You're right--making cards is much better as it isn't the repetitive action & it makes us happy! Hoping the non-surgical treatment works!

So sorry you are having problems with the carpal tunnel and I hope it clears up for you soon. I will miss you but I fully understand. And, yes, your priorities would be the ones I choose too. LOL And, making cards is a therapeutic thing so go for it girl !

Hi Brenda,
sending lots of sympathy and gentle hugs your way.
I understand what you are going through as I have had the op in one hand but still have the problem in the other won't go into details why I can't have the other one done.
I found over the years that sleeping with my hand resting on my waist height helped with the pain at night.
Not sure if this is something that you have tried or not but I found it helps a lot with me.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Oh, my! I feel for ya since I had carpal tunnel many years ago. My thumb gives me trouble at times and I have to rest it. I hope things improve for you very soon. I know it must be frustrating when one loves to craft. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery! Take care!!

Oh Brenda, I am so sorry you're going through this! I've been trying to intermittently rest my right wrist too, trying to deny there's a problem. You are an inspiration, maybe I'll learn from you! Frankly, there are times when I have gone off the grid for a few months, usually in summer. People always understand and we pick right back up, so no worries!

You are doing all the right things to get over your carpal tunnel. The trick is after it all settles down and the pain in gone to not get right back to what caused the problem. Take care...Hugs...

Sorry to hear Brenda. I hope the break from computer work will help. I would have done the same thing, housework would be the first off the list. :) The cards should be your priority as it brings you joy to create. Take care and hope things ease soon for you. xx
