Oh my stars!

Cold, cold cold. That's what it is here and so many places.

These are my cards for Twofer featuring stars this month. My first card is a sympathy card. I sponged the background with Distress Oxide inks in tumbled glass, stormy sky, faded jeans, weathered wood and black soot. Then I glued all the stars that were punched out of the Simon Says Stamp die I used around the poem from River City Rubber Works from 2002. I popped it up so I could put a few stars behind it. My second card uses the outline of the SSS die called Stacked Stars The panel is die cut from a Gina Marie die and the big star is an old Sizzix die calls Stars. It's one that you use in the Big Shot with only the plates, not using the platform. The sentiments are Lawn Fawn and I added a few silver stars. The yellow was inspired by Bonnie since she has been making happy yellow cards.

Edited to add: Oh my gosh. I just went to add my cards to the challenge and it's the first time I've looked at the challenge and found that https://catluvspaper.blogspot.com used the same die. Her cards are so cute.

Be kind to one another.

That night sky and star background are perfect for the poem. Also love the open stars background on the yellow card.

Great star cards Brenda, that Eskimo folklore is a wonderful stamp to take front and centre on a card :)

Hi Brenda,
2 very gorgeous cards for very different occasions.
Love both your fab designs and your inking looks amazing.
The poem on the sympathy one is so beautiful, and would cheer one up so who ever receives it.
The 2nd one is so bright and cheerful and anyone receiving this would be so elated with it.
Great Twofer for this wonderful challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

I love that you and Cat used the same die, Brenda, because your designs are very different! It just shows that it's possible to not only get twofer designs from one product, you can get fourfer designs! Both your designs are sensational! I love that quote on your first card, surrounded by stars, and why not believe that? And all your elements go together so well on your bright and cheerful birthday card!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #13! I hope it warms up soon! Hugs, Darnell

Beautiful words really touch my heart, and the folklore sentiment does just that. What a lovely thought on a lovely card. An entirely different look and feel to your birthday card and I absolutely love it! Yellow is such a cheerful color (we painted our house yellow). Both cards are brilliant for our Twofer challenge and I'm so glad you played along!

I love that sunny yellow background with the white star, Brenda. It's so cheerful! Thanks for the shout out. The sentiment on the sympathy card is perfect with the stars. I love how you've tucked some behind the sentiment!

Two beautiful cards. I love that sympathy one with that wonderful verse. And, the other card is so bright and cheery. How nice that you could use both the negative and positive stars for two great cards.

That fancy star die is just beautiful, Brenda and I love that you made use of the stars that were die cut from it. Wonderful cards and wonderful sentiment on the other one.

Wonderful cards with stars. As an opposite to the elegant sympathy card, the yellow birthday card is jolly and bright. :-)

Two fantastic star cards Brenda. Love the beautiful poem that goes with your sympathy cards. Great use of the stars left from the stacked stars die that you used for your birthday card. The bright yellow is so cheerful. Wonderful designs for both. Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge! xx

Beautiful cards Brenda and clever! I love the sympathy one, it is very calming and serene. I love that sentiment as well. It was a great way to use those "negative" stars from your die cut. I am loving that die cut too! It looks great on your second card, a great birthday card for anyone! Love, love, love! Today and yesterday were pretty warm, but I think some rain today and of course a mixed bag come Sunday....spring is right around the corner or so I keep telling myself. lol Hugs, Brenda

That's a fantastic star die, I can see why it's popular. You knew just what to do with it for both of your cards! Wonderful starry night sky on your sympathy card, and I love the white and yellow color combination on your birthday card! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

Brenda I love that we used the same die for our cards. I had such a hard time thinking of what to make. Your sympathy card with the folklore sentiment is perfection. I love that sentiment, so peaceful and encouraging. Yellow happens to be my favorite color so you really hit that birthday card out of the park for me. The big star on top of the stencil is such a smart design choice. Fabulous cards for the twofer!

What a lovely poem, Brenda ... a perfect choice for that night sky background scattered with those tiny stars! The warm buttery-ness of your birthday card is a delight ... and the outline die cut stars are complemented beautifully by the delicate border ... so dreamy! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
