My stencil card

Thank you for the sweet comments about my klutzy fall. I'm much more careful as I walk into the garage now and the first thing I do is raise the overhead door. If I had really gotten hurt no one would know. Surely someone would see me if the door was open. It takes something like that to learn from it.

I wanted to join the stencil challenge this month so this is my card. I used Tim Holtz water color paper and a Penny Black stencil. I used Color Burst Lime Green and Tangerine powder and put it on my craft mat. Then using a slanted paintbrush I tapped it into the spaces of the stencil. Then I spritzed it with water and removed the stencil. It came out pretty well.

Be kind to one another.

What a wonderful artsy effect you've achieved with this fun technique. Fabulous colours and one fabulous card. Sounds a good idea to leave the garage overhead door up and as you say we all learn from mishaps x

Lovely card Brenda...looks like a store boughten card. I should try that someday, once I get past the doldrums. Hope you are feeling better. We are getting dumped with 6-12 inches today. Yikes, schools closed and since JP cleans a school he is off work too, which means no pay and not much time to play with cards. (doldrums +!!)

Your stenciled flowers have such an artsy watercolored look, Brenda. What a good idea to add your powdered color burst colors with a dry brush and then spritz with water. TFS your beauty and glad to hear you are feeling better. Hugs..Nancy

It came out "pretty well?" Brenda, this is stunning! You got awesome results with this technique! I love the stencil and the way you added a strip on the side. Great idea to open the garage door when you go out there, just to be safe. You're always using your noggin and I'm glad that sense didn't get kanocked out of you! Someone here seems to have a lack of it, ahem! Hugs, Darnell xxoo

Beautiful stenciled technique and card! Love those vivid flowers! So glad you learned something good from that nasty fall - we all learn every day don't we? Take care!

That stenciled design is so gorgeous. And, yes we do learn from our mishaps. I know one time I fell and was not hurt but had difficulty getting up so I shimmied my way over to the basement steps and then sat at the top and was able to just stand up on a couple lower steps. I then turned around, went up the steps and was fine. I happened to be pretty close to the steps so that helped.

Good idea to raise the door so someone could see you if you would fall again, which I pray you don't!!! Bret and Corey are always telling me to keep my cell phone in my pocket when I go out, but do you think I ever remember?!! Anyway, just be careful and go slower. It makes a difference. Now onto this gorgeous, stunning card! I'm in awe of it! You are getting right up there with Loll and Bonnie with your watercoloring my friend! I just can't believe how beautiful this is and that you did it with a stencil. I love it! Hugs, Brenda
