Happy New Year!! I hope this year brings you excellent health, lots of love and peace. I took an unintentional blog break this past week. My family got me a Smart TV and I have been working with it. It is not something I would have gotten myself but I do love it. I'm not a big movie watcher but with all these to choose from I will be watching some. The facebook and youtube videos are so much fun to watch on a big screen. I'm not sure about Amazon Prime though. If you have it, can you watch their movies for free? Does anyone know? Most of the sites you have to pay for. The kids gave me NetFlix so I'm good with that. This TV came at a good time with all this freezing weather so I'm staying in.
I'm sad to say I haven't made a card for several weeks now. Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween burn out, I think. I had a request for my Crock Pot Apple Butter so I am posting that today. Be kind to one another.
2 quarts apple sauce
3 1/3 cups sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 and 2/3 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 and 2/3 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon cinamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Cook with lid on crock pot for 2-3 hours on low. Remove lid and cook till liquid cooks away.
The whole process takes about 5-8 hours. Stir every so often.

Hi Brenda, your Apple butter recipe must make a large amount. Thanks for sharing it. Good luck with the new t.v.... wishing you a Happy, healthy and crafty New Year... have a wonderful week... Megan
Happy New Year Brenda! Your new tv sounds like it will be perfect for staying indoors in your cold weather. We've had heat waves here and lots of rain so I've been staying in too with the air conditioner on lol! Cathy x
Happy New Year to you. That sounds like a great TV you got. I am afraid that a smart TV might outsmart me in every way as I have issues with technical things. Hubby is even worse. LOL And, I too, have not made a card in a long time either. This week I am concentrating more on cooking special meals for hubby who has a special diet for a week. So I don't know how soon I will get to making cards again.
Happy New Year, Brenda! I've been thinking of you with those frigid temperatures. It's inhuman and I can't even think about the poor animals that have to go wee in those temps! Have you seen any more of the coyotes? I worry about all my friends and my sisters falling. I'm a mass of nervousness for all of you and I want it to warm up so I can calm the hell down!!
I think your TV was a cool gift idea! We have all that and I think we do get Amazon Prime movies free with our Prime membership. We have plenty to watch with Netflix so we haven't tried watching anything through Amazon.
Thank you for the recipe! I love apple butter and only get it when I go back to Iowa! Yay! Now I can have it any time!! Love and hugs, Darnell
Wish you & Molly were here--much warmer & we could craft together while the puppy dogs nap--haha! Hope you soon feel like making cards, Brenda--Valentine's Day will be here before you know it--haha! We have a smart TV, but we don't have it connected to the internet. I'm just too paranoid. Sending big hugs, Greta
This recipe sounds delicious, Brenda! Thanks for sharing it! I haven't mastered the remote control yet so I think I'd be hopeless with a smart TV! LOL! I hope you have a healthy, happy 2018. Thank you for beautiful Christmas card!
Happy New Years Brenda! How fun that you got a Smart TV. Bret gave me one for Mother's Day and my birthday combined. I love mine too, although he got it for my bedroom and I'm not in my bedroom all that much. lol But I will watch a movie sometimes late in the evening or will watch You Tube. We have Netflix and Hulu as well as Amazon Prime movies. I think you have to be a Prime member to watch the movies for free, but don't take my word for it. Do you have Amazon Prime??? If so, then I know for sure you can watch for free. They have good movies, I watch in my craft room as well. Isn't it fun watching crafty tutorials on the big screen?!! I love that too. I hear you about being burned out, I think we all get there at some point and time. Take care my sweet friend. Hugs, Brenda
Forgot to say, thanks for the recipe! My elder lady that passed made apple butter this way too and I got her recipe, glad to have yours too. Can't wait to try it! Hugs, Brenda
