Yesterday was the anniversary of hubby's passing two years ago. It's hard to believe it has been two years. You think you won't be able to go on with your life but you do. You always love and miss your loved one but I have wonderful memories and fun stories that the boys and I share with the grands. I truly believe that crafting helped me through some of those dark days. It gave me something to do and the support from my blogging friends helped so very much. It made me realize that sometimes when I just make a card for my stash, that card will be so uplifting to someone who is sick or going through a really sad or bad time in their lives. Never, ever underestimate what you do.
This card today was such a fun one to make. I have had this paper with the words to Deck the Halls for a long time and can't tell you anything about it. When I saw the falalalala die from Lawn Fawn I knew exactly why I needed it. I die cut several and layered them together. I intended to cover it with Glossy Accents but my bottle is almost empty. Hard to believe but I haven't had a craft order or been out to the stores all month so I couldn't do that. It is just plain ole, plain ole cardstock. Still, I love this card. Be kind to one another.

Oh I love that die cut too and it is a perfect sentiment for that background paper! I hope you are getting emails because I wrote you a long on the other day...heart hugs friend, and you know my prayers are with you to bring you comfort when remembering all those memories from years past with your husband!
It's a lovely CAS card, and the diecut sentiment is perfect with the DP too. I know it's been a difficult 2 yr for you, and expect the anniversary day was a tough one. You've been so strong, and I'm glad if the online buddies have been a good support for you. I liked your thought about the stash cards brightening the day just when somebody might need it. I know this past year, that's been the case for us, receiving a card just at a low spot, and it uplifted us to know folks were thinking of us. I hope the holidays will be joyful for you & your family. And that you stay healthy! TFS & Hugs.
That sentiment looks so right against that cardstock. It really doesn't need anything else. hugs Mrs A.
Sometimes the simple cards make the best cards. Like the die cut too.
It doesn't seem like it's been two years, Brenda. Sending hugs to you, my friend. Your card is beautiful!! I love the falalalala die!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

I can't believe it's been 2 years, Brenda. I'm so glad you & your family can find comfort sharing your wonderful memories. Of course you had to get that die--now you just have to find more of that fun paper--haha! I sometimes think clear embossing a word die cut is easier than covering with GA, but plain white is always good in my book! Sending hugs, Greta
Brilliant card, Brenda, such a simple design, but so effective.
I'm glad crafting has been a comfort to you over the last two years, as well as being able to share your memories with your boys and grandchildren. xx
Love your card, it shows it doesn't have to be complicated, life is complicated enough! I also love how blog land connects us to amazing people like you. You have shown such strength through such sad times, and been a great inspiration xxx
Love this card Brenda, sometimes the simple things are best! Big hugs :) Cathy xx
Beautiful card design and I love the elegant simplicity of it. I am glad that the card making has helped you through this difficult time too. Take care and sending a hug your way too.
I love it, too, Brenda! What a great way to use our pretty pp and that fun diagonally-placed die is just perfect! I'm sorry I forgot to acknowledge the anniversary when we talked yesterday, Brenda. I had actually thought of it before I called and then, of course, it flew away. I agree with you about the restorative powers of making beautiful cards for others at a time when we need them the most. It follows the philosophy of what you give out to others comes back to you tenfold! Sending big hugs and lots of love, Darnell
It must be a very difficult time for you but I'm glad card making and the bloggy Friends helped somewhat.
I love that classic Christmas card of yours!
Sending big Hugs~
