For now the cling wrap has fled to the kitchen. I tried again after helpful hints from bloggers. I looked in the mirror and said "there are just some things you cannot do well" and moved on. Thank you all for your suggestions. I say "for now" as I will try this again. I will use different paper, spray starch and gesso or all three at once! I just can't let a piece of plastic defeat me. Never give up - just give it a rest.
In the meantime I did another tissue paper card. That I like. I smooshed distress ink on the tissue, used die cuts from Concord & 9th and stamped a sentiment from Impression Obsession. I am skidding in on the last day to enter this at http://casmixup.blogspot.ca/. I used tissue paper, die cuts and stamped. I am closing now as I was watching the race at the Brickyard that just started and they pulled the cars off the track because of a storm that is moving this way. Be kind to one another.

Good idea to leave the cling wrap technique until later, Brenda. I'm sure it will work out better when you decide to come back to it.
Love your tissue card. The background is so pretty. xx
The tissue paper looks beautiful, Brenda! Still haven't watched the video, but will eventually--so many techniques I can't keep up! Those leaves are some of my favorites which will probably end up at my house eventually. Hope the storms aren't too bad where you are. Just too darn hot here! Big hugs, Greta
What a gorgeous card!! the tissue paper background looks amazing!! There are many techniques I've given up on because I just can't get the right look!! I hope they are able to get the entire race in...it's halfway over now so hopefully the rain will hold off!! Have a great evening!! Big hugs :)

The plastic wrap may have given you pause, but you've mastered tissue paper, Brenda! Love these soft colors and die cut leaves! Thanks for sharing with us again at CAS Mix Up!
Fantastic CAS design Brenda. LOVE the colours of your watercoloured tissue paper background. Glad you had fun making your card. Sorry to hear about your trials with cling wrap. Hopefully you'll figure it out after you take a break from it. Thanks for sharing your card with us at CAS Mix Up!
It is a beautiful card, Brenda. I love the tissue paper background!
I am glad you found one of your tissue paper cards that appealed to you. I think it is wonderful too. And, some times we need to leave a project that does not work for us until a later time and try again. And, sometimes might even have to say to ourselves that it is not for us to do this type.
You certainly rocked the tissue paper technique, Brenda! This is really pretty with the die cut leaves! I know when you are ready you will rock the cling wrap, too!! Hugs, Darnell
Your die cut feathers look lovely against your pretty tissue background Brenda! thanks for joining us in the CAS Mix Up Challenge! Julia xx
