I'll be the first to admit this is a petty post and has nothing to do with card making but it is kind of making me sad. When I brought new toilet paper home from the store I set the package down next to the two rolls we had left. I kept looking at the new package and knew there was something different about the new ones. The cardboard roll seemed wider to me. So I actually measured. The results are below. The old roll had an opening 3/4" smaller than the new one. There is 1/2" more paper on the old roll. Doesn't that seem wrong? In the scheme of daily living that is not a big thing, but when you know how much money you spend at the grocery store it seems like a rip off. I know about cereal companies putting less cereal in smaller boxes for the same or a little more money and even my favorite Dial soap made an indentation in their soap rather than a full bar. I guess it is the way of the world now but it does make me sad. I seems like I have too much time on my hands but that is not the case. It just struck me wrong and I had to see for sure. I am reserving time this afternoon to make cards. Thanks for hanging in there with me.

I would like to thank all the tips I received about lining up the little squares. All of you ladies are so talented and know so much. So thanks to all of you.  Quilted Northern is not kind to me.

Yeah...that's the name of the game....less product and more money!!! Have you seen the new toilet paper coming our that has NO cardboard roll inside?? Company is saving money there too, so when the roll runs out the paper will fall on the floor????? Not sure I like that idea.
Have a great day......Louise

Well, that's a new one on me. Although I did see an ad yesterday for a "roll-less" toilet paper to "save the earth," because there is no longer a cardboard roll. I think the company just realized how much money they could save by not providing us with the cardboard rolls any longer! Can you imagine how squished and hard to unroll those are going to be?! You know the rest will follow suit now. I'm sad like you about it all, Brenda, and think we are all being taken to the cleaners. The young people are so busy with all the social media stuff, they don't pay attention to consumer things like this so I think it's only going to get worse down the road.

I wish I lived closer. I'd come over to the new patio and we could be two old biddies together sharing our outrage! It always feels better just to get things off your chest with someone who understands!! And it's not because we don't have a life, it's because we are observant!! Hugs, Darnell

You know, if they'd just be honest about it wouldn't that be refreshing?

Brenda, I think you'll find that all of us feel the same as you do! It's happening with everything. Check the ice cream containers! More $$$ less product. It's a very sad commentary on our society. Makes it very difficult for seniors & especially young families with children too. Thanks for pointing this out. We can all fuss about it together! Hugs

I feel the same way you do Brenda, we are constantly getting ripped off with product. Plastic jars that have a caved in bottom so you don't get as much peanut butter, ice cream in smaller containers, cereal-well don't even get me started on cereal but it is the "cleaning" supplies that really get my goat. They are way to high in my opinion and really put the grocery bill up. That's why I started making some of my cleaning products. I wish I could make my own toilet paper and roll it up nice and neat. lol I'm afraid though that this is the new normal in this day and age sad as it makes me. So I try to off set the price of these things by making what I can. I guess we can all fuss about it together. lol Hugs, Brenda

It is happening everywhere. Do they think we are stupid and don't notice the difference? I would rather pay more and get a full half gallon of ice cream and 8 ounces of yogurt than pay the same and get less & less. Where will it end?
