I hope everyone had a relaxing three day holiday in the US. We had three beautiful days and got the parade and the race in. Thank goodness Scott Dixon was not injured in that horrific accident. All the family went to the cementery to visit Bill then went to my sons for the day. We did have a hailstorm come through on Saturday night but that was all.

I found this cool adhesive stencil at JoAnn's a while back. There are two doilies and two hearts on it and there were others as well. This was a quickie card just sponged with DI and a Hero Arts sentiment. I added a few sequins and it was done. I just wanted to show you the stencil. It sticks then you just wash it off and you're good to go again. Be kind to one another.

As promised, or threatened depending on how you look at it, I am back with a card. This is my first attempt at a technique Jennifer McGuire did the other day. Raised letters in a scene. I think if I hadn't layered so many letters together it would have matched a little better but I'm happy for my first try. She has really been posting some cool things to do but I don't think I can afford to watch her very much longer! I can't imagine how she thinks up all these things to do. This card is going to my girlfriend's granddaughter graduating from high school. A Stampin Up scene, Avery Elle congratulations and Lawn Fawn letters and little star. WOS on stars and red gown and shoes. Taking my granddaughter out tonight for her birthday dinner and hoping the storms hold off until we get home. Hard to believe there is rain forecast for each day this weekend. Hope the parade and race gets in. Our family is getting together on Monday for our Memorial Day. Be kind to one another and be safe if you are traveling.

Mourning for Manchester. What a tragedy and I'm so very sad for everyone affected by it. I don't  have a card today. I'm pleased with the garage sale as I got a lot of things sold and out of here. The second day pretty much got rained out at noon and it was so cold and dreary. One couple got trapped in the garage while it just poured down. When they left I closed up. I was so happy to go inside and get warm! Since then I have been going through closets and really cleaning things out. Last week the trash can was so heavy I couldn't tilt it up enough to roll it to the curb. I had to take three bags out, roll it down and then come back up and get the bags to put back in the trash! That may be the case this week too. My grandson graduated from middle school last night so I went to that. Drove there and back in the rain. Will spend my sale money on a canoe. I'll be back soon. Be kind to one another.

I've got to open up the garage shortly for the sale but I wanted to show you the other card I made with the tulle. It is the same design only with different colors. I don't have a picture of it by itself and you have already seen the pink one. I wanted to hurry and get it in the mail for a dear friend of mine.  Be kind to one another.

One last card I got to make from the online card class. I wish I had more time this week because there are several more things I want to do, especially the new marbling technique from Laura Bassen. But, life does interfere so I will try them hopefully next week.

This card was my first attempt to use gilding flakes. I used a scalloped stamp and added sticky powder then mashed on flakes. Then took a stencil brush and brushed it off. More flaked off than I wanted but I do love the effect. I should have used a smaller stamp so I could add this sentiment but I didn't know what sentiment I was going to use before I flaked so Duh. I will make another card with gilding flakes and get better at it. Go to go to the garage. I hope that I can work out there because the wind today is blowing so hard here. Will have to work with the garage door closed. Be kind to one another.

I'm thrilled to have a card chosen for Honorable Mention on the http://casology.blogspot.com/.
That was a lovely surprise this morning.

I also want to post a card I made from Sparkle and Shine online class. This is a background made with Gansai Tambi pearl watercolors. I painted the color on acetate and smooshed it on the black card stock. I let it dry naturally and it gives such a soft shine. The balloons are a Simon Says Stamp die as is the happy birthday die. Gold thread is used for strings and SU sparkle paper in green and blue for the balloons. I think the gold is Tim Holtz. This is for my grandsons upcoming birthday. Be kind to one another.  Oh, I just posted this and it is not as beautiful as it is IRL. The balloons are so shiny and really stand out against the shine on the background. I wish you were here!

I'm wishing all the mothers here a very happy mothers day. It's a hard job with a wonderful result. Sometimes with several results!  My family all came yesterday and spent the day working in the garage. They took things they wanted (or I forced on them) and helped me move things around and set up tables. Then they took me out to dinner. We had a great time in spite of working. A good friend of ours dropped by and several neighbors stopped in so I can't say we actually worked all day but we got things done.

I recently watched a video on Jennifer McGuire's blog where she used tulle on her card. I was estastic because I bought several rolls for my sons wedding to make some sort of table decorations. Then she found something she really liked and I have lots of tulle. This is a birthday card for my friend Sharon. We have always celebrated our anniversaries and her birthday together. Our 50th anniversary was Saturday so I was glad the family came. It made it easier.  I used a flower from Simon Says Stamp and tulle between the layers. Added some sequins and a sentiment. I love the card and will use tulle again. Be kind to one another.

A wonderful blogging friend did a great thing for me and I wanted to make a card to thank her. I got my inspiration from day two of the Online card class Sparkle and Shine. Day two is all about foiling and I have lots of foil that I've never used so I was ready to go.  The tulips are a Penny Black die that I watercolored with Inka Gold put on my craft sheet, spritzed with water and smooshed the paper in. I used an Avery Elle oval die to make the black embossed insert and gold glitter frame. Then using a Zig 2 way glue pen to cardstock I added gold foil to the cardstock and burnished with my bone folder. I cut out the thanks with a Clearly Besotted die and here it is. This is a great class for me since I love sparkle and shine on cards. It has clean and easy and quick techniques. I'm playing in the Chttp://caswatercolour.blogspot.ca/ challenge this month.  Be kind to one another.

My grandson is graduating from 8th grade and I needed a card for him. A boy card with no bling, flowers, ribbons BUT sparkle. I am taking the Sparkle and Shine online class and this is what I learned the first day. I used a piece of white glitter paper from DCWV and used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to colors stripes on it. Then I used that paper to cut out the Yipee word from Waffle Flower. I stamped the hat from SU and the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  I clear embossed the sentiment and went over it with a Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen. I love how it came out, simple for a boy but the glitter colored paper gives it a boost. I will enter this into thehttp://casology.blogspot.com/ that my friend http://suescardcraft.blogspot.com/ gave me a heads up to/ Be kind to one another.

The rain and cold is back again. Hard to believe it is May by how it feels outside. I did work in the garage yesterday and got so much done but you couldn't tell if you just peeked in. Baby steps between the rain and wind. Should warm up this afternoon.

This is a card I sent to one of my wonderful blogging friends. I'm so happy to be sending birthday rather than sympathy cards but there has be a combination of both. This is an Altenew stamp and inspired by my shower curtain. It was colored with Copics. I wish I had the dies because I fussy cut both flowers and leaves. Many dies leave a white border and I'd rather have the image trimmed along the ink line. Unfortunately, my hands can't cut that well because of arthritis so I try to ink up the edges after I cut.  The happy birthday is Simon Says Stamp. Be kind to one another.

The rain has stopped after 33 hours. It is trying to come again this morning but it won't be like it has been. I am going the the funeral of my next door neighbor today. The lady two doors down is very ill and just moved to her daughters and the man two doors the other way just passed two weeks ago. Many of my neighbors are elderly but this has been a real blow.

My girlfriend Sharon is having a birthday on the 14th and this is the card I made for her. It is kraft c/s and a PTI die from a set called Make it Market Mini: Garden Gild. The butterflies are stitched dies from a set I won from Poppy Stamps and the sentiment is from Mint Owl. I added a few gems from Hero Arts. Be kind to one another.

I am so behind in introducing my newest follower. She is Verna from South Dakota and her blog is https://vangerhofer23.blogspot.com/. She is a very versatile cardmaker and I think you would enjoy dropping by to say hi.

I finally got a new mattress and frame that raises and lowers the head and feet. I am so sorry I waited so long to do that. Reading has always been my way to relax and I always read at night in bed. What a difference this makes in my life. You wouldn't think it would be such a big thing but it is. I am warm and comfy and could almost purr! Speaking of purring -

On to my second favorite thing - cardmaking. This is actually the first card I made with my new Laurel Burch stamp set. I just love those cats. I colored them with Copics and fussy cut them. The green and orange kitties are popped up. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. Be kind to one another.
