I'm concerned about my health. I believe I am straight challenged. I'm not talking about my lifestyle, I'm talking about my eyes. Today, when I went to the grocery store, I noticed that I was not in my parking space straight. This is not the first time. It looks right to me and when I come back to the car it is crooked in the space. Now, either someone is moving my car or it could possibly be me. I've mentioned before how hard I try to get things on my cards straight and have all kinds of tools to do that.

I had a hard time with the cards from yesterday's online card class. The first card had teeny tiny little spaces to color in and I couldn't seem to stay in those little spaces. So I stopped coloring.

I believe it was my eyes causing the problem.  It wasn't suppose to be all colored, but I think more would have been good. The second card didn't work out well either. I didn't really have a good image to work with. I did get the embossing paste on okay. But on both cards the sentiment is crooked!!  The third card was a disaster. You stamped a solid image, embossed with sticky powder, then added distress glitter and embossed with clear embossing powder. OMG. When I stamped on the glitter to put down the versamark the glitter stuck to the stamp and made a huge mess. I just threw the whole thing away.

If there's one thing I've learned from this class it's I need a sink in my craft room! I don't think I'm a good follower. It's better if I think up a card. The class is wonderful and the gals teaching the techniques are great stampers. I love them and their work. I have learned so much from them. I just can't follow directions.

Back to my health. I think I have a disease called straight challenged. When I finish here I am going online or calling Dr. Oz to see what can be done and how bad this is. Is it life threatening, is it treatable, is there medicine or surgery involved? I need to find out. Why can't I get things right. Is this catching and am I contagious. Should I be quarantined. Oh my. Is this where that expression "Let's get something straight" comes from, from this disease? Maybe I'll be famous and written up in the annals of medicine. I'll keep on it and let you know. If you don't hear from me you will know I have been hospitalized. I'm going to go ahead and show you the 2 cards I made. I'm always surprised how much better they look on the blog! Be kind to one another.

Hope you get things straight, but fear not it's all in a day, when making cards. (if I had a smiley face, it would go here) Have a great day anyways.

Nope, I don't think you're ready to be quarantined! and if You are, then so am I! At least you did the homework (and truly, it's not all that bad LOL!). I watched the videos - thinking - I doubt I can do that. I did like Julie's embossing technique though. I'm enjoying watching the videos. I'll give you an A+ for attempting the homework. Go to the head of the class! I have the same problems with getting things straight. When I took the yellow PB flower series, I noticed in the photo, that the yellow ribbon trim has a 'rumpled' look. Now I didn't see that until I saw it in the photo. (looks worse in the photo I think!). So give yourself a well deserved pat on the back for your cards! See ya in the classroom. Hugs & TFS

Oh dear--you made me laugh & I needed that! I do like the cards with the tiny colored areas. I, too, sometimes just have to do what comes to me rather than what someone else is saying to do.

Nonsense Brenda - you are perfect in every way and it's everyone else that's all wonk! (No wait - that's men isn't it?!) Vicky x

Hey Brenda, I tried this technique, and my die slipped, even though I thought I had it taped down fairly well. It would have made a great look if the die had been straight. Yours looks even better after I tried it myself! (I used my boo-boo as the back piece on the butterfly & paste card). Google is driving me nuts, & I think it's something to do with being on the Google + thing. (Which I didn't know I was, but I think I am!) Don't think Blogger help is any help at all. Have tried Firefox & Google chrome, not any better. So just doing the best I can to try to follow new folks...and comment as I can! Have a good week, and thanks for visiting. Sorry it's a PITA though!!!

Well Brenda, if you have the disease "straight challenged" I have it too!! I can't get anything straight to save my life. lol A stamp liner upper thingy for the lack of the proper name will help you line up your sentiments straight. Now for your cards, I love them both!!! You are coloring on embossed areas and that in itself can be hard to see-but it looks like you were doing well. Just color in a few more and you will be good to go with the first card. I really like this idea and may have to try it myself. I also love the 2 second card, that butterfly is gorgeous and I love the colorful dots. Well done my friend. We got some snow today if you can believe that. But it didn't lay on the roads and it was only a little bit in the grass, so all is good. But not getting out of the teens tomorrow with high winds which will make it close to 0 I guess. This is not spring temps!! lol But I know it is right around the corner so I will wait a little more longer. I hope it is feeling more spring in your neck of the woods. Hugs

It's hard for anyone to stay inside those little embossed spaces! And you are too hard on yourself! And anyway, you really karacked me up with this post!! Love, love, love your attitude about things! (P.S. Do let us know which hospital, so we can send flowers.) Hugs, Darnell

Cool techniques, Brenda!! You are braver than I am--I'd have given up after the first two steps. But you persevered and ended up with two lovely cards!! And really, if everything is perfectly straight, how would your card recipients know that they've received something handmade???? Wear your "straight-challengedness" as a badge of honor!!!
