I truly did not give you a good picture of what happened with the tornado that touched down in Kokomo. There were 1,002 houses with structural damage, 81 homes completely destroyed and 173 homes with major damage that need serious repair. If that weren't enough yesterday morning a severe storm came through the north side of town and ripped up trees and took down power lines. Many are still without power. Then last night another storm came through and caused major flooding with waist high water and people trapped in cars.  Right now as I type there have been two more serious rain storms go through. I am so over storms. As I am also so over scenes.

I agonized over this card for several days. I knew what I wanted to do. This is not how I saw it in my mind but you will get the gist of it. The cat was supposed to be sitting on a shelf overlooking the fish bowl on the table. This is for my granddaughters birthday and she has a soft yellow cat. I don't know to make a table so I just cut paper from a 6x6 pad of MME pad for the table and shelf. The shelf is cut with a poppy stamp die. The cat is from Tim Holtz mini cats and dogs. I had to make the fishbowl and inked it in DI inks and added the fish from Simon Says Stamp. Added WOS to the large fish and a googly eye to the cat.  Those things to the left of the cat are books in case you didn't recognize them! The shelf looked so bare. The sentiment is SSS also. This is the end of the birthday cards I needed so I'm ready to get all the Halloween stuff out and get started. I am entering this card in Darnell's NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) http://www.djkardkreations.com/. The mini cats and dog set is new as is the SSS fishes set. Even the googly eye is from a new package. Be kind to one another.

I just realized http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/  has a "fish" theme this week so I am entering this card there.

Love this fun card, Brenda. I don't think that big fish knows what the cat is thinking - he's got a smile on his face!

Your weather sounds horrendous - stay safe. xx

Such scary weather--glad you're OK. I'm checking in with my family--hopefully no serious damage for any of them. Hopefully you're getting all the bad weather over with before I come--haha! You may be over doing scenes, but I think this is adorable & very clever! Wishing you calmer times, Brenda!

Oh, it's absolutely adorable, Brenda!! I love the scene you've created!! The table is fabulous!! The fish bowl is so fun!! And that cat is too cute!! Love this!!

It makes me sad to see the devastation in and around Kokomo. We had more rain today, but now it's sunny and blue skies. I hope the storms are over. Have a wonderful evening my friend!! Big hugs :)

You're right, I had no idea the weather was that severe and damaging right now in IN. I haven't heard that it is bad in Iowa and I check in with the weather channel now and then, but I haven't seen a thing. I wonder why. They covered the MI weather last week. Anyway, I'm very sorry for all the damage and have said a prayer that the upcoming storms are minor.

Now, about your card. You are WAY too hard on yourself, Brenda, my friend! Of course, the books look like books! The table looks like a table, and your cat, fishbowl, and fishie couldn't make a better scene!! Your granddaughter will love it!! Are you sure you're over scenes? I'll bet you've got a witchy/ghostly/punkiney scene or two up your sleeve!

Thank you so much for the shoutout and for playing in my NBUS Challenge #7!! You and Molly lay low and take care! Lots of hugs, Darnell

Hah Hah! The crazy cat is perfect for the fishbowl and the expression on his face is priceless! Do you live right in Kokomo? I have a friend who lives there (she's fine) and my son and his family live a heartbeat away in Fairmount - they're fine too. That twister was a scary sight, and I'm glad you're OK!

I think this is adorable. Love the cat and the fishbowl. You are right about the storms. I am over them too. We weren't hit as hard as the northside of Indianapolis. My husband works north and has spent part of three days in the tornado shelter. They lost all power at work and didn't get it back until the next morning. Hoping for some calmer weather! Prayers for all in the Kokomo area.

Great card, love the crazy cat looking into the bowl. Such a cute card that I am sure your granddaughter will love. And I totally recognised the books :). So sorry to hear of all the storms, we do get coverage of some of them over here in the Uk, and they truly look awful, but they don't report them all. Hoping the upcoming storms are less damaging.

Hi Brenda. You were so kind to drop by my blog and leave a comment on my NBUS card, so I finally got the chance to return the gesture. I am so glad I did because your birthday card for your granddaughter is so cute and well thought out. She is one lucky girl. Great use of all those NBUS.
