Happy, happy new year to all. I hope your 2017 is filled with love, health, happiness and craftiness. I hope we can all be kind and forgiving. This is a card I made that was on my camera card and had not been loaded in the computer. It is Kaisercraft paper, a SU ornament punch and silver cord and sparkle paper.  Be kind and be safe tonight.

I'll be back with a card soon but I wanted to share what was in my craft room last night. This is the biggest spider I have ever seen in my life and I was stunned. I just stood there and so did he. I had my phone in my hand and snapped a picture. Then he got away. I am moving. Be kind to one another.

Merry Christmas everyone. May your day be filled with love, joy, fun and loved ones as we remember the reason for the season. Everone was here yesterday and, oh my, we had so much fun. Molly and I are getting ready to go to my sons for the day but I wanted to share my last card. This is a Lawn Fawn stamp and sentiment that is inside and says "Merry Christmouse".  Be kind to one another.

I ran to the store this morning to get the cheese for the crack bread that I forgot to get. Oh my, everyone in the city must have been there! All 28 cashiers were open and the lines were so long. I've made five of the dishes we are having today and will finish up the rest tomorrow. Todays card  is more of KaiserCraft paper, a star die cut from gold paper I embossed to match the angels and an angel stamp embossed in gold embossing powder. It was sent to someone who is an angel to me. The picture didn't come out very well.  Be kind to one another and don't stress out about getting everything done.

Thursday, December 22, 2016

Other than cooking, which I will start tomorrow, I am ready to have the family come Christmas Eve. All my running is done, gifts are wrapped and today I will finish the cleaning. The card today is done by letting the paper take center stage. This is from the KaiserCraft paper pad and the punchout in the back of the pack. I love the shine of the paper. I did punch out a scallop circle from glitter paper for the reindeer. It has warmed up to the 30's and 40's so it feels much better here. Be kind to one another.

Cold weekend and I stayed in! Today I wrapped all the presents and now the tree looks happy with the company. I'm hoping the driveway thaws out by Wednesday so I can go to the grocery store and get food in for Christmas. Today's card is sent to another dog lover and dear blogging friend. It is a Lawn Fawn stamp, sentiment and paper.  Be kind to one another.

Saturday, December 17, 2016

Turns out the snow was not the big issue. Last night we had freezing rain and cars were stranded on the interstate for nine hours because they could not move. Now it is raining and the temps are up a little bit but more freezing rain is expected tonight. We have four Indiana Big Ten basketball teams playing downtown at the fieldhouse this afternoon and people are going to be out in this weather so I hope everyone is safe. I doubt anyone will stay home since IN is such a huge basketball state and we take it very seriously.

This is a card I made for my two besties. One dressed in red and one in green. It is a My Favorite Things stamp and sentiment and I had to have it. The tree is a Sizzix die with Snow Tex applied. My friend Colleen, http://onesmileliftsaspirit.blogspot.com/, made a card with Distress Grit Paste that is like this. Be kind to one another and patient if you are out shopping.

Thursday, December 15, 2016

We ended up with 3.9 inches of snow and now we have bitter cold. It is a minus 12 wind chill factor with a high of 23 today. The driveway is plowed but it leaves ice and it is sloped so I'm not going down to take out the trash or get the mail. All my Christmas deliveries have been made to the door so I am ready to wrap (or is that rap?). Rapping while wrapping will be fun! My craft room is so messy, worse than it's ever been with stuff all over. You know what they say - Craftings messy, clean it up!

Today's card is a Memory Box Drop Ornament inlaid with a Memory Box LaRue Ornament die. It is a pretty big die so that is pretty much the card front. It is cut from silver glitter paper and I used silver thread for the hanger. The paper is Kaiser Craft. Be kind to one another.

Tuesday, December 13, 2016

Just a quick post to show you what is going on right now. We are getting big, fat, fluffy snowflakes and the ground is covered in just an hour! Molly loves it. She just goes out and stands in it. I was trying to capture how big the flakes are on camera. Also a picture of Molly guarding my Christmas bins of supplies. I feel much better today. Be kind to one another.

Monday, December 12, 2016

Kind of a subdued weekend. Friday was the first anniversary of hubbys passing and today is the anniversary of the funeral. I don't know why the word funeral starts with fun. That should not be.  I worked on my cards all weekend and I am making progress. It was a perfect time to stay in and craft as it was cold and dreary. This is an older stamp set called Lizzie Anne designs Little Bits rubber stamp sets.  I am entering this card in http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/.

Please display our banner. The challenge is a one layer card with outlines. Be kind to one another.

Friday, December 9, 2016

Finally, I am starting my Christmas cards. I'm so glad I got everything done as we did get some snow last night. Not much compared to the rest of the country but it is on the ground. It is the cold that is really the issue. And the wind, oh my. This card is made with Impression Obsession Patchwork Tree die and KaiserCraft paper. I used a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder as a background for the tree. The sentiment is embossed with Queens Gold embossing powder and I took the stamp set out of the packaging so I don't know what company it is. I am going to enter this at the http://mitrafriant.typepad.com/impression_obsession_news/2016/12/new-challenge-quick-christmas-cards.html that is Quick Christmas cards.    Be kind to one another.

Wednesday, December 7, 2016

I hooked my oxy tank up to the portable cart and off I went to the mall. I actually went to four different places in and out of the car and did just fine. The oxy tubing got hung up on some women's pants that were hanging up and jerked me back when I tried to walk away and once I turned the wrong way and the tubing pulled me back. Other than that it was a great experience. I walked slow and didn't have any problems. Truthfully,  I have been afraid to go out with it because I have visions of tripping someone or trapping a kid with the tubing. I am getting much better with it and this was a boost since it went well.  I did all of my shopping except for my oldest grandson and I will probably get his online. The tree is up and I am getting into the spirit. Now I have to do my cards. It is going to be much colder by the end of this week so I'm trying to get my running done early.

This is the last card we made in the Christmas class. We used a brick pattern paper for background and snowflake punch to make the wreath in two different greens. Decorated it with red gems and ribbon. I hope you are all getting everything done and not stressing. Jesus is the reason and things that don't get done are okay. Be kind to one another, especially when out and about shopping and in the parking lots.

Sunday, December 4, 2016

Whoa, winter has arrived here. We may get a dusting of snow this morning. I love looking out at pristine snow and seeing it fall. That's it. I don't want to shovel it, drive in it or trudge through it.  This card today is another from the class I took and it is a doozy. The front of the trees are one paper and the other side is a different pattern. I love how the inside looks too. I don't know that I will make another one but I do love how this came out. Be kind to one another.

I'm sorry, I meant to turn the middle picture but forgot. It is to show you the other side of the front trees. The card ties in front to close it.

Thursday, December 1, 2016

I'm back. I don't know if that is a threat or promise but I'm here. It has taken several days to get back to normal. We had a great time at a great place. The cabin was plenty big enough for all of our family. They have remodeled the kitchen so we had enough room to make our Thanksgiving meal. We were up late every night and this old body isn't used to that. We got home Sunday afternoon, I unpacked the leftover food and Molly and I slept most of Sunday afternoon and nine hours Sunday night! She was so good and got so much attention from the grands. I have caught up on the laundry and did all my errands yesterday. I got some Christmas shopping done on cyber Monday.

My heart goes out to all those in Tennessee with the fires. That is where our family stayed several years ago on our family trip. Also to those in the path of the tornados in the south. Our weather has been all over the place, warm and cozy one day and cold the next.

Here is a Christmas card I made in a class this year. It is an easel card and I'm not sure what happened to its bottom where it got wavy. I have to get myself back in the groove of cardmaking. I made so many for Halloween and Thanksgiving and then just stopped to get ready for the trip. I'm hoping my mojo comes back into town today. Not that much time left. Be kind to one another.

Saturday, November 19, 2016

I'm sorry I've been gone so long. I took advantage of the high 60's and low 70's weather we have been having. It has come to an abrupt end today as it is in the 30's with high winds and rain. I am also getting some cards ready to donate to the nursing home for Christmas and need to finish them up today. I had a wicked migraine last week that really laid me low so I lost a day there but it is over. Our family is renting a house over Thanksgiving and cooking our dinner there. I have lists everywhere and will be making my third trip to the grocery store on Monday. Tuesday I will be making some of the dishes here at home and Wednesday we leave. It will really be fun and we have games and movies and lots of snacks. Molly is going too and it is in the country so she will be so excited with all these new smells. I am not taking my computer as there is no WiFi. I will sure have lots to catch up on when I get home.

I did have one more card to share before Christmas cards. This is an Obession Impression owl stamp  and I think the sentiment is Lawn Fawn. This is a card for all of you. I am so thankful to have you all in my life and so glad I discovered stamping. Big hugs and be kind to one another.

Saturday, November 12, 2016

Frost is here and temps are dropping. BUT we are suppose to have 70's later in the week. How strange is that! Can't put away the tee's but have to have the sweatshirts out. I'm doing well and I have a new overnight unit that is much quieter. I did slam the car door on the tubing yesterday but that's been my only snafu lately. My sons, sil and bil and I went to the cementery yesterday for Veteran's Day and told stories and laughed. That was theraputic and we still miss him so much. I took my granddaughter to lunch afterward and had a great time with her.

This is my last fall card. It is a stamp and pumpkin dies from Impression Obsession. I sponged with DI and mounted on an embossed leaf panel. Now it's on to Christmas cards. I feel guilty because I make all the same card but have so many, many Christmas stamps and dies and don't use them. I'm afraid I will send the same card to someone the next year if I make them all different. Be kind to one another.

Monday, November 7, 2016

We are going to have a high temp. of 68 today. I am so happy for such lovely weather this late in the year. I hope it continues.  I have gone out once with my new adornments. I went into the grocery store with my little unit and it was fine. The problem is the tube from the machine to me is 7 ft. long. That's so I can move around a room without carrying the unit. But it's easy to trip over it (or roll over it with my desk chair) when walking unless you coil it up. I'm getting there. I've mastered the bed by throwing the tubing over the end of the mattress at the head of the bed. Keeps it out of the way.

This card was made with a snippet of left over paper for the plaid leaves, an emobssing folder for background, some dew drops and a bit of twine for a bow. I clear embossed the sentiment and will enter this at https://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com/. Be kind to one another.

Friday, November 4, 2016

A new me! A while back I mentioned I was having some health issues. I was very short of breath and having a hard time of it. That is now fixed. I got my oxygen yesterday after being evaluated Monday. What a big to do it is. I now have a concentrator that is portable and a huge machine that is continuous at night. Also a backup tank in case of emergency. I don't have to have it all day long but I do have to try it at night for awhile and see if I need it. So far I have managed to roll over the tubing at my desk and cut off the air flow and I got all tangled up in the tubing during the night and almost tore my face off. The night machine is so noisy. I had him put it in the bedroom since it was a night thing. Last night I turned it on and oh my, I think the walls were shaking. I had to get up and haul the thing into the hall and close the bedroom door. Of course Molly is terrified of it. She's not crazy about the portable unit and has sniffed it but she hugged the wall in the hallway last night passing it to get back into bed! I haven't ventured out yet. I need to learn to control the tubing first so I don't hurt myself or someone else. I also need to remember not to cook with it on as I have a gas stove. Breathe or cook, what to do. Not a hard choice! Bought a new Crock Pot. I'll keep you updated. One would hope that sucking all this air in might lift and tighten up my face. Be kind to one another.

Monday, October 31, 2016

Happy Halloween to all. I hope you have lovely little trick or treaters and everyone is safe. We are having upper 50's and dry weather for them. I don't get any that come here and I miss that.

Oh my gosh, it seems like forever since I posted. The roof is fixed with a new boot and caulking around the chimney.  It was a busy week for me. Bingo for my SIL's sorority, a trip to Nashville, IN to the stamp stores, we had exceptional 75 degree weather for our tailgate and baseball and football on Sunday. Plus I am a serious reader and since I've been making cards and visiting blogs I don't read until bedtime. I had five books all come in at once at the library so I have been reading like mad. Harlan Coben - Home, Preston & Child - The Obsidian Chamber, Janet Evanovic - Curious Minds, Debbie Macomber - Sweet Tommorrows and Elin Hilderbrand - Winter Storms. I know, it's a strange assortment but I read everything! I also have two more in but I don't have to pick them up until 11/3. That's what I've been up to instead of making cards this past week.

This card is the last one from the class I took and it is different. It has a pocket on the front with a tag. Then the fold is unusual as it opens kind of sideways and is a easel card. It is also a bigger card than usual. Be kind to one another.

Tuesday, October 25, 2016

Chilly nights and warm days, perfect fall weather. Haven't got the leak fixed yet, no one came on Monday. Today I am hoping they come as rain is predicted for Thursday. In that spirit, I am going out today to look for a raincoat type garment. That is something I don't have and this is the kind of weather you need something to keep you dry. With the winds an umbrella doesn't help much.

This card is simple with mostly coloring. I love Halloween colors and this is a card where you can use a lot of color! Have a great day and be kind to one another.

Saturday, October 22, 2016

No one ever called me back out of three companies I called! I called my insurance company and they gave me two names to call. I reached the first one and he came out yesterday morning and can fix the leak. He said it's not too bad, only two places it could be coming in and he thinks he can get me on the schedule Monday. It won't be very much to fix. Who knew it would be so hard to find someone!

I was inspired by Darnell of http://www.djkardkreations.com/ to use brushos. I watched the video by Loll of  http://www.stampingwithloll.com/ and put the stencil on the paper, sprinkled the brushos on and spritzed with water and lifted the stencil. Then blot with paper towel. I wanted to make a Halloween card and this is the only stencil I have for Halloween. Don't ask me why I stuck those pumpkins on. I forgot less is more. I'm posting this card to show I tried the technique. Please disregard the pumpkins. Be kind to one another. I'm off to tailgate with family.

Thursday, October 20, 2016

Plink, plink, plink is not a good sound at 2:15 am. It has been raining since last night and my roof is leaking. I couldn't place that sound so I got up and turned on the light and low and behold, there is water dripping over my bedroom door onto the carpet. I found a 24 hour company online and called at 2:30 am. She said she would give my number to the oncall person and they would call me back. That was eight hours ago and no call yet. I called another company at 7:30 am, same thing - no call yet. Called another one at 9 and no call yet. It continues to rain. I have folded towels under the drip and keep putting them in the dryer. The ceiling is starting to pouch out where the drip is. So far it is just a drip. I don't like being a single homeowner with no clue what to do.

SO, I will post a card. This is another fall card made in the class I took. I love the bright shiny colors of the leaves and fall paper. Be kind to one another.

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

My girlfriend Nancy is on spring break from the college and came and took me to lunch yesterday. It was so nice to just sit and visit with her. I am so thankful for all my girlfriends. I think women need their girlfriends to be able to just chat with and support each other. Your husband is always there for you but your gals just listen and don't try to fix everything.

Todays card was made in the class I took. The colors aren't coming through very bright in the picture. The little strip of paper at the bottom of the front just makes me laugh. Be kind to one another.

Saturday, October 15, 2016

I had a little time today to pop in my craft room and try ghosting. This is my third attempt and I'm still not real pleased with the card but I'm going to post it. I used a ghost stamp by Judith and a sentiment by Poppy Stamps. I used Wow glow in the dark embossing powder on the white ghost and will give this card to my grandson. He will like that extra little touch.  The sentiment is clear embossed so it is shiny.  I am entering this card at http://casmixup.blogspot.ca/ for the ghosting technique.  I stamped the ghost and embossed. Be kind to one another.

Wednesday, October 12, 2016

I get to have the younger grands for a few days today. They are on fall break and will be here soon. Todays card is one I made at a card class at my local scrapbook/stamp store. It is Bo Bunny paper with a vellum window. The other products were from the teacher so I don't know what company they are from.  There is a battery operated tealight behind the window. Be kind to one another.

Sunday, October 9, 2016

Yesterday turned out to be a perfect day. It started in the 40's but by three it was beautiful. We tailgated at my granddaughters house and there must have been 50 people come through during the afternoon. We had plenty of food and got to meet a lot of her and her room mates friends. Her room mate's mother and male friend came down so we were able to meet them and they are so nice. Our whole family was there except for my oldest grandson, who is in New Orleans for fall break. My oldest son and his wife left this morning for Florida. My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by Matthew. It was a very destructive storm with loss of life and property. I am watching the airlifts in Pinetops, North Carolina on TV and my heart goes out to all those people.

This is an easy card today made with a sheet of Memory Box paper, a die from Poppy Stamps and a few sequins. The paper is several years old. I am trying to use up my stash but I have gotten some new dies. Be kind to one another.

Friday, October 7, 2016

I want to thank you all for the wonderful birthday cards and birthday wishes. I received some lovely cards and have them all displayed so I can enjoy them. I need to get a pork roast cooking for our tailgate tomorrow but I wanted to share another Halloween card I made inspired by http://www.frenchiestamps.com/. I didn't have any of the same things she used but I did improvise and I'm happy the way it turned out. I used Memory Box Tall birch tree die and Poppy Stamps grass die. The black trees are from October Afternoon stamps and the ghosts are Poppy Stamps dies. The background is Distress Ink and the eyes are white enamel accents. There is WOS on the ghosts. Be kind to one another.

Thursday, October 6, 2016

My computer was blocked by some outside source but I was able to shut it down. I waited all evening and thought I would have to take it in to be unlocked. Low and behold, I was able to log back on the next day. I don't know if it got infected so I hold my breath everytime I turn it on. We'll see.  This is a fun little card today that is bright and cheerful. Lawn Fawn plaid paper and an EK leaf punch in glitter paper for the turquoise and orange leaves. I didn't have any gold glitter paper to match the plaid and no yellow embossing powder that matched so I just added stickles to the yellow leaf.

I hope no one is in the path of Matthew. I hope you have moved to a safer place if it is near you. Everyone be safe. This appears to be a nasty hurricane. Be kind to one another.

Monday, October 3, 2016

I have been having some health issues and laying low this week. I hope to have it taken care of by the end of the month. I wanted to enter the http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com /this week so I made this card. It is Lawn Fawn stamps and a Memory Box tree die. Background is Distress Inks. Be kind to one another.

Tuesday, September 27, 2016

My Big Shot came today so I'm back in business!  I was gone most of the day but I did make a quick Halloween card, very simple. This is Doodlebug paper, a Prickley Pear stamp, Homer the Raven, and Impression Obession pumpkin die.  The Happy Halloween sentiment is DeNami. Be kind to one another.

Saturday, September 24, 2016

I marbled! Oh my gosh, it was so much fun and I love the results. I did that for the challenge at http://casmixup.blogspot.ca/. It seemed like it would be a messy technique but it wasn't and so easy to wipe up when you are done.  I die cut the frame and sentiment, punched the leaf  and used sequins. Sequins weren't on the list but etc. was so that's what I used. I need to hurry and enter this card because this is the last day! Be kind to one another.

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

A little snafu. On the same day my Cuttlebug and Big Kick both died. How could that happen? I have had them both for as long as I can remember and different things happened to them. The Cuttlebug handle will only make two revolutions and stops. The Big Kick groans and crackles and does not want to move forward. I am so sad as I have been in a cardmaking frenzy. I have ordered a new big shot and it should come within the week. I will be fussy cutting for a while but that is so hard on my arthritic fingers. I hate that because I was really on a roll.

Here's the thing. I can't read and comment on blogs and make cards. It takes me a long time to make a card and it takes me a long time to read through the blogs I love. If I haven't commented on your blog in a while that is why. Don't give up on me. I'll catch up soon.

This is the last card that I was able to make using the big kick.  The witch die is Impression Obsession, the background was sponged with Distress ink and the sentiment is Waltzing Mouse. Black stickles was used on the sentiment bat. The little bats are a Hero Arts stamp and the purple grass is Grassland Border by Poppy stamps. They say things come in threes so I'm hoping the stabbing incident and the two deaths of cutting machines are my three. Be kind to one another.

Wednesday, September 14, 2016

I ran around with my SIL yesterday and didn't finish a card I had started or come back to the blog.
I had a great time with Greta. She is just as sweet as can be and is so lovely in person. We had a delicious lunch (and dessert) and got to visit for several hours. Her cousin suggested a terrific little place to eat and she was so right about that. Now to get back in my craft room and get busy. Be kind to one another.

Monday, September 12, 2016

Today is a very special day! I am having lunch with Greta http://ggnursecreations.blogspot.com/ and I can't wait. I have recovered from my vicious attack and went to a craft garage sale at a stamp store here in town. Oh my, so many things for sale at such reasonable prices. I only spent $7 and got a few things I needed! Also tailgated with the family before the football game at my granddaughters college. Lots of good food and so much fun.

This card was not so successful. I can't get the hang of making flower soft stick. I had this idea in my head about falling leaves. So I mixed about five colors of flower soft to look fall ish, made the scene (Darnell was right, I do have a few more scenes in me) and glued it on. It looks okay but if you pick up the card the stuff falls off. I have the glue that comes with it but I just can't make it work. I'm afraid if I mailed the card it would come out of the envelope bare and all the flower soft would be inside the envelope! Oh well, you don't know unless you try. The cats are an Impression Obession die and the tree is Memory Box. Be kind to one another.

Friday, September 9, 2016

Several days ago I had my first crafting attack. Fortunately my life is not in danger. This is an amazing tool that I use to punch bits out of die cuts. Looks so innocent doesn't it?

I was in my craft room minding my own business running a die through the Big Kick and punching out the little unnecessary unwanted bits. Out of nowhere and with no provocation whatsoever this little handy tool leaped  rolled off my craft island and attacked stabbed me in the foot. Of course the little plastic protector cap was off and I immediately sustained blood loss from an open wound requiring 300 no stitches . It really did swell up quite a bit and was red around the wound for several days. It was actually painful up to the middle part of my leg. .The redness has subsided and the swelling is down so it is on the mend. Who knew crafting could be hazardous to your health. Be kind to one another and to your craft tools.

Wednesday, September 7, 2016

Lots of heat and humidity today. What can you do but stay inside and make cards! I made this card this morning and love how it came out. Just like I pictured, which doesn't always happen. I used the cornucopia and greeting from Lawn Fawn and also the background paper. The cart wheels are Poppy Stamps Rustic Cart and texture is Magic Mesh for the cart. I am entering this card in http://naughtyornicechallenge.blogspot.com/ whose challenge is food or drink. Also in http://addictedtocas.blogspot.com/ for their challenge word harvest. I've never entered three at one time but I'm also entering http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com/ for texture using the Magic Mesh.  Be kind to one another.
