Creative Heat Embossing

I am so happy to be in the launch of groupofsevencardmakers today. I hope you enjoy visiting and using some of the techniques we have tried. Loll has listed them on the sidebar and I'm sure you have most of the things we have used right in your craft rooms.

These are the cards I made for Creative Heat Embossing this month. On the first card I swiped my Versamark pad randomly along the sides of a panel, then embossed with WOW Primary Sherbert embossing powder. The tulips are die cut from gold cardstock with a Penny Black die. I saw this technique on a card but cannot find it now. If it is yours, please let me know so I can give you credit.

The second card background was made by plastic wrap all crumpled up and smooshed in Versamark, then I pounced around randomly first not covering the entire panel and embossed with Zing Grapefruit e/p. Then pounced again in some of the bare spots and embossed with Wow Primary Sherbert e/p. I cut a heart with a Die-Namics die and stamped a greeting with a Lawn Fawn stamp.

For my neighbor

My neighbor had a bad car accident and is rehab recovering from broken ribs, bad headaches and back issues. The neighborhood is making her a Sunshine Basket for anyone who wants to contribute something. I made her this card and I'm adding some books, as she is an avid reader.

I used Distress Inks for the background color and a Simon Says embossing folder, Lumen, along with the Paper Hugs die from them. We don't know how long she will be there.

If you see a toilet in your dreams, do not use it.

All new

I'm sending this card to a dear friend that just had surgery. This is a flower die from Die-Namics and a swoosh from Alexandra Renke. The sentiment is from Papertrey. All have never been used and I cut the dies with my Empress that I got for Christmas so I'm sending this to mynbus.

I might wake up and go running tomorrow. I also might win the lottery. The odds are about the same.

More gold

My sister in laws birthday is coming up and this is the card I made for her. I used an Alexandra Renke
die for the flowers and a Poppy Stamps Grand Stick Frame cut from the panel. It took me hours to make this card and everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I am not fully back yet and kept doing weird things. Pickup up the Misty and put the paper in, then realized I meant to get the paper trimmer. I knocked over the tub with Distress Inks twice and had them all over. Cut the gold c/s when I meant to cut the white and vice versa Messed up when I gold embossed the sentiment from Hero Arts. I'm glad this card is done. I can't seem to think and figure things out anymore. I hope that comes back to me.

Cleaning is just putting stuff in less obvious places.

Hiking

I would like to welcome a new follower to my blog. She is Donna Ellis and I'm sure many of you know her. If not, you can visit her at creativesmiles and say hello. I'm so happy you're here, Donna.

Now, to hiking. Oh, so not me but my grandson in Boot Camp! They have started the serious long
hikes so I made this card for him by using the dog from Gerta Steiner Designs. I think he will relate and like it and that's how I look at the end of the day lately. I cut a window in a card panel and added pattern paper behind it. Stamped the dog, colored him with Copics and fussy cut him. Popped him up and added him in the window. Then added the panel to a card base.

Sweet dreams are made of cheese. Who am I to diss a brie?

A week swooshed by

Candy, cookies and cake - someone stop me!

Gosh, this year is going fast. A week has passed and I didn't post a thing. Covid has kicked my rear end and zapped my energy. I get tired so easy and have to nap. That's where I've been all week and hope to keep getting stronger.

I wanted to play at the colorhuesthecolorchallenge with these colors.  I love the combination of pink and gold. I think it's so perfect for Valentines so that's what I made. I used a Frantic Stamper Double Diamond die for the panel and a Die-Namic heart die. The sentiment is a Simon Stamp die. All were cut with the new Empress I got from my son and daughter in law for Christmas. I love it so much already.

What do you call a lazy kangaroo? A pouch potato.

Happy 2023 Everyone

I wish everyone good health, love, time with family and lots of crafty time for the new year. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are ready to start all over again.

I've spent a lot to time on Facebook since my grandson went to Boot Camp. They are really great at keeping you informed about what your recruit is doing each week and posting pictures. I've only seen one picture of him so far. A lot of the pictures are taken from far away to get the whole group in so it's hard to tell who's who. I've been sending him letters via Sandboxx but, of course, I send cards too. This is the latest. He's starting his sixth week and it is pretty hard. This is a Whipper Snapper image and a Honey Bee sentiment. We want him to have lots of mail so mom, dad, sister, me and friends are all writing and sending cards. They don't have much free time but he has sent three letters that I cherish.

Turning vegan could be a misteak.

Edit: I want to play at NBUS
