Another sympathy card

This is a card we made at SU camp and I now have it in my stash. I usually make cards for the person as I need them and my stash just kind of sits. It is nice to have a card already made when an unexpected need arises though. This is a beautiful flower stamp and the shading is already there for you.

I hope you all have a nice Labor Day weekend!

Sympathy card

A good friend of mine recently lost her mother and this is the sympathy card I made for her. I cased this card from Loll here Faux stained glass. I used a Darice embossing folder and Nuvo crystal glaze.

Sprayed

The https://casstencil.blogspot.com/ this month is using spray with a stencil. I've tried that in the past and could never get it right. Maybe I used the wrong type of stencil before, but this time it worked! At first there were kind of clumpy drips that I didn't like but I left it to dry and when I came back, it looked so much better.  This is a small stencil I got at a stamp convention in a little plastic bag so I don't know the name of it. I used a TH Distress Spray Wild Honey and a Sizzix die cut flower. I cut an opening in the panel and glued the sprayed stenciled piece behind it. I used a DCWV little circle stencil over the flower and the same spray to give the flower a bit of color then popped it up over the sprayed stencil. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp. Stamped, used two stencils and Distress Stain Spray along with two die cuts.

Time for glitter

Today I'm sharing a card for the caschristmascardchallenge with the prompt glitter. This is all Stampin' Up. A stamp set and matching dies from last year that I just had to have. I think it is timeless and perfect to glitter. Navy blue cardstock is stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with Ranger snowflake glitter embossing powder. Then I die cut the star from silver glitter paper and stamped the sentiment in Hero Arts white ink.

The paper towel technique

Today I'm sharing a card I made for https://casmixup.blogspot.com/ using a paper towel. This is a fun way to create a background . You can't see the pattern to well all over the background but I like the colors so I used it. Just wet it and laid it over cardstock and pushed on it with my fingers.  The leaves are cut in two matching ink colors of yellow and lavender from Concord and 9th. The sentiment is Penny Black.  Paper towel, die cuts and stamping.

Nautical Twofer

I don't know if everyone does this, but this is my way of deciding what to make. When I saw nautical as the prompt for the  this month, I knew I had "stuff" to do that one. So I gathered what seemed nautical to me all on my desk. That's what that hodgepodge of stamps are on my desk. By the process of eliminating what I don't want to use I end up with what I do want to use.

The first card is a Stampin' Up sailboat sailing on a Hero Arts wave background stamp. Handmade group of clouds and s sentiment from Love from Lizzie.  The second card is a stamp and sentiment from Lawn Fawn, same waves and a porthole cut from circle Spellbinders dies. Then Cassie got in on the act. Seems she is obsessed with bling and couldn't wait to add the gems around the porthole. They are gray but don't look like it in the picture. Once I knew what I wanted to use the cards went together so quick.

Another birthday card

This is a birthday card for my girlfriend and a fun one to make. I used a Darkroom Door flower and Penny Black frames. Used the swiping across the card stock for the colors and found Stampin' Up paper to match the lavender. Added a gem to the flower center and popped up the frame around it. It's been an unexpected busy week and I haven't been in my craft room all week. I'm having withdrawal!

Things don't always turn out

Sometimes they go awry. What seemed like such a great idea in my head did not translate to my card. I stamped this Penny Black stamp in Versafine black and embossed in clear embossing powder.  So far, so good. Then the magic didn't happen. The intent was to color in the flowers and leaves with metallic pencils, which I did. It didn't come out vibrant like I pictured and you can barely see the color. It looks a bit better in person but I was disappointed. Sometimes that happens but that's how we learn. I learned not to do that again.

I've found if I type too long my wrists will bother me, so I am trying to comment and visit, but I'm keeping my comments shorter for now. Thanks for understanding.

Friday already?

I truly don't know where this week went. I was running every day and I'm looking forward to the weekend to rest. I'm sharing another card today we made at a Stamp Camp.  All Stampin' Up products and colored with alcohol markers from SU. I haven't made a card all week and I need to get busy with lots of birthdays for our family coming up. Cassie kitty is anxious for me to get started so she can help. Have a great weekend everyone.
