As we come to the close

of this year, I want to wish you all the Blessings of the New Year. Good health, happiness, peace and lots of craftiness. This past year has been a wonderful one with my family and friends. I have great  blogging friends and some wonderful new ones this year too and I couldn't be happier about that. I spend a lot of time at home so I love visiting blogs and seeing such fabulous creations from all of you. The sharing and caring is such a terrific community and I'm so glad I found all of you. For anyone that just pops in from time to time, I hope you will comment so I can visit you. Thank you for blessing my life with your friendship.

Molly got her cozy cave bed for a combination birthday and Christmas present. She's only been in it once. I think it is too hot for her but she will sleep on top of it with her blanket!

Christmas

I hope you all had a Blessed Christmas with your loved ones.  Or a calm, relaxing day off. I'm still coming down from all the festivities and excitement. Thank you for all the beautiful cards you sent. Every one is cherished and looked at over and over, then saved. I'm taking this week to put everything away, clean up the house and trying to eat up the rest of the leftover food! That last part is hard but I think I'm up to the task. I have to compliment Mother Nature for this week. We had five beautiful days with blue skies, warm temps and no rain or snow.. You couldn't ask for more in December here. It is starting to get colder now but that's expected and it is winter!

This was a quick and easy card for one of my exercise buddies. I used the gold script Kaiser Craft paper and a Penny Black sticker. Easy, peasy and simple.

Merry Christmas

Good morning and a very Merry Christmas to all who celebrate the Birth of the Christ. I hope you have a lovely day filled with love of your families, friends and pets. Thank you sincerely for the comments, emails and cards you have sent during this year and also uplifting thoughts when I was sick. We see those thank you's on blogs  but the feelings behind them are so heartfelt by me and those who receive them. It's nice to know others care about our lives like we do theirs. You have all inspired me to try out new things and become better at card making . My family loved their cards last night and I was thrilled. I'm off to get ready for Molly and I to go to my sons today. Have a safe, fun day and a healthy, happy New Year. Here is a card for all of you, my lovely friends.

Santa is almost here

It's here, Christmas Eve and tomorrow is Christmas. What we have been getting ready for and we won't have to wait long now. I am feeling so well and ready for my family this afternoon. I'm excited to see everyone open their gifts but this year I'm just as excited to have the grands open their cards. I think they will get such a kick out of them. We all have the same sense of humor, warped as it is! The boyfriend and girlfriend of the oldest grands are coming too and below are the cards I made them. Not puns though.

This card is pattern paper with snowflakes and a die cut from Poppy Stamps. The house is a die also from IO. I added stickles for snow and yellow card stock for light behind the windows. I added stickles for glow from the windows.

This is the boyfriend card made with a background die from Hero Arts and a die cut from Memory Box. I embossed the reindeer with SU copper e/p, then with Stampendous aged copper embossing enamel. Love how it turned out.

Have a great Christmas Eve.

Update

Thank you for your well wishes. I'm now on a Z pack as well as Cipro and Predisone. I do feel better and am not coughing as much and as hard. I think I've turned the corner on the upside. I don't have a lot to do today so I'm going to take it easy.

The card today is Stampin Up paper, a die and tied with red cord. I love red and kraft together but you could use any c/s and pattern paper. I'm so pleased with how it came out.

No pun today

This is the card I made for my other daughter in law. She is more traditional so this is not a pun. I used Kaiser Kraft pattern paper with a gold script and added an embellishment from Stampin Up. Then cut a gold tree with an older Sizzix steel die, a fat one. I decorated the tree with sequins.  The script says Peace, Hope and Celebrate so I didn't think I needed a sentiment.

The thing about Predisone that I'm taking is it keeps me awake. I am getting lots done but kind of dragging along. I got up this morning at 3:50 am with a croupy cough. The nurse will call me back when the Dr. comes in this morning. I just wanted to know if I should be doing anything else before the holidays and everything is closed. I feel a bit worse today after taking my meds for four days. This happened last year and I ended up in the hospital. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Another pun card

I have a granddaughter who loves llamas and and daughter in law who loves rhinos. This is her Christmas card made with pattern paper from a Mat Stack and a wooden rhino from those bins in Michael's. I typed the sentiment on the computer and added a Lawn Fawn Santa hat colored with Copics and snow added with a Marvy snow marker.  I think she will love it. It is so cloudy here it's hard to get a good picture. The paper is all the same color!

A twofer that's not Darnell's

Good thing I am done with shopping and wrapping as I have bronchitis. Bummer but I started on my meds the minute I knew that's what it was Monday night and I do feel better this morning. That can all change on a dime. Today's cards are a positive and negative. So easy and you get the two cards for one. Stampin Up die and black and white card stock. Can't get much easier. I did add Mary and Joseph on the second card. This was made at SU class.

One card, no stories

This is a very simple card made with a stamp from Lizzie Anne designs called Silent Night. I stamped the image  and then stamped the star in gold ink. The whole card is sprayed with Glitter Dust from JoAnn's.  Very simple and quick but I do like the way it turned out.

Funny story

Since I told you how I shop with Foxy, I'll share a story that's funny now, but not so much then. I got in the car with the strap of my shoulder bag over my left shoulder and the purse on my right side. I knew I was going straight home so I didn't take my purse off my shoulder. I put the seat belt over Foxy's tube which I normally don't do, I put it under so the tube is free but I just wanted to go home. Pulled out of the lot and thought I have so much to do when I get home that I'll go through a drive through and grab a quick meal. I gave my order and she told me how much it was. When I got to the window I was so tangled up with the seat belt, tubing and purse strap I couldn't get to my purse or unzip it. The lady was patiently waiting at the window for me to pay so I had to undo the seat belt, move the tubing and take my purse off my shoulder to get her money. I now always take my purse off my shoulder and put it on the seat, careful not to block the vents. She was laughing but I was not at the time.

Today's card is a spinner made at Stampin Up class. Almost all my Christmas cards were made there. I love my ladies and Laura, the demonstrator, is the sweetest gal you could ever want. These ladies are wonderful and so caring and compassionate and really friends as well. I love going there and visiting with them. This is made by embossing the panel with an e/f. Then just putting the string above and below the opening after attaching it between layers of the snowman. I sent it to my SIL and she loved it.

Recycled

I recycled the front of a card someone sent me. I loved it so much and wanted to keep it going. I just added some Lawn Fawn paper to the front of a card base and added this card front. I would love to visit the Holy City but my travel days are over. It might be fun to ride a camel, but then again, maybe not. I can barely get through "hump day" every week!

A toady Christmas card

I'm almost ready for the holidays. Only four more gifts to wrap and I am done. This is the best I've ever done in getting ready. It's because I ordered everything online this time. Not trying to find a parking space and wandering around looking for the perfect gift is the most wonderful thing ever. To give you a quick idea of what it is like for me to shop - I get in the car with Foxy on the cart. (Foxy is my oxygen concentrator. Foxy is the name I gave her, Foxy oxy). Then I untangle the tubes and put on my seat belt, position my purse so it doesn't block the vents on Foxy and put on my sunglasses. Dig out my keys and open the garage door and I'm ready to roll  Other than the garage door, I reverse the process to get out of the car. Imagine doing that when you are going many different places! I need a nap when I get home. Plus I'm trying to carry packages and my purse as I pull Foxy along. That's why I ordered online.

This card for my younger granddaughter is from an idea I saw on Pinterest with a stamp that I don't have. My toad is an All Night Media stamp. Just a strip of c/s and stickles on the mistletoe from Lawn Fawn Cheery Christmas. I added two strips of the same red c/s along the sentiment strip. The little bow is from Lawn Fawn Snow Day.

Brrrr

Wow is it cold. Twenty degrees and all the windows on the sun porch are frosted over. But I'm thinking of my east coast friends who are snowed in. I hope everyone is snug and warm and didn't lose power.

I finished my gifts to my wonderful Stampin Up ladies. They make the most beautiful gifts and I am so challenged. I made them all taco Chex Mix and tied ribbons and tags around them. Not very exciting but I hope they like them. Below are pictures of the little tags. I wish I had gotten them done in time for the Tag Challenge but, alas, late as usual.

Stars

I received this stunning star from my dear friend and wanted to use it on a card. Then Trina asked for stars on her challenge and I was thrilled.

This is Stampin Up pattern paper and this lovely encrusted star. I am entering it in the

Gnome for the holidays

This card is for my older grandson and it's not as cutesy as he is older but still a fun card. This is a Fun Stampers Journey set of gnomes and the card inspired by their blog. I stamped her on a circle of card stock die cut with a Lil" Inker Designs die and colored her with Copics . I added a pewter gem to her hat. The sentiment is from the same set and embossed with white e/p.

Sharks!

This is a card for my younger grandson. I saw this idea on Pinterest but not this shark image and not this sentiment. My shark is Avery Elle and the waves are using a Simon Says stencil with Distress Oxide Inks. The Santa hat is Lawn Fawn and Flower Soft. I typed the sentiment on the computer. I just cut a strip of sparkle paper to add some bling. Hope he likes it.

I love you guys

You are the most loyal followers. Thanks for the comments on my last post about nothing. I am in negotiations for my own TV show. If it's good enough for Seinfeld, it should be good enough for me!

Seriously, I wanted to post but didn't have a thing to talk about or a new card to show. Today I do. When you ask my granddaughter what she wants for her birthday or Christmas, she always says a llama. I happened across Fun Stampers Journey and they had the cutest llama stamp and I knew it was mine. (They do still have more). Anyway, this is the card I made her for Christmas. I just stamped it and cut it out. Used a gray Copic for a little shading and added a ribbon for a scarf. The paper is SU and I cut a hill with a die from Lawn Fawn and added Stickles. Merry Christmas is SU and the sentiment is FSJ. I can't wait to give it to her.

No card

I've been doing house things this last week. The furnace company came to check my furnace and thermostat I'd like to say before winter got here but that ship has sailed. We've had wind, cold, ice  and snow already. I have some bearings going out in the inducer motor? I think that's what he said but otherwise it is working fine. Thinks a humidifier would help keep it warmer in here. Then our power and light company came and assessed how energy efficient this house is and it passed with flying colors. I had them out because I have to set the thermostat up to be warm in here and he said that was okay. I will get new weather stripping and caulking in the spring. The house is on a slab and I have concrete floors with carpet over them so they are really cold in winter. I am asking Santa for leg warmers and wool socks for Christmas.

My family was here for Thanksgiving on Sunday. Below is a picture of the mess I made in only an hour and  a half of cooking. That's the part I don't like about cooking, it requires dirtying up pots and pans. Where is the kitchen fairy when you need her? My cabinets are oak, I don't know why they look so dark.

My sister in law and I went to Nashville last Friday and the shops are all decorated for Christmas. I took the picture below of the huge polar bear they have in front of one of the shops. You can go and stand by him and have your picture taken and we were already past it when we realized that so we didn't go back.

This was a complete rambling of nothing with no cards. I will do better next time. You could have done without any of this. Sorry, I just felt out of touch!

Cooking today

My family is coming tomorrow so I am spending the day in the kitchen. Ugh. I'd rather be stamping but that's on the back burner (not on the stove) for a few days. Busy week next week with appointments so I'm not sure when I'll get to stamp.

This card was for my other granddaughter. It was inspired by a tag Kara posted in Oct. I loved it so much, the bright happy colors and the design. This is simple with just pattern paper and a MFT mouse stamp fussy cut and popped up. The frame is Penny Black and I added a strip of fall leaves. I'm sorry the picture is fuzzy and the card is mailed so I can't retake the picture.

Six days in a row

Happy Thanksgiving.

This is six days in a row I've posted! A new record and not like me at all. But I wanted to say how thankful I am for my crafting friends online. It is such a wonderful, caring group of people  and I'm thankful to be a part of it. The inspiration is awesome, there is so much talent on line but it is the caring that I love so much. I hope you all have a wonderful day with family, friends or whatever you choose to do. Hugs to all of you and here is a card for you.

Going backward

I had another Thanksgiving card to post before I get caught up in Christmas. I usually do one holiday at a time so I don't get confused! Since I moved my Christmas crafting things to easier access I can make Christmas cards anytime and I got them mixed up this year. This is a card for my granddaughter made with a MFT stamp and colored with Copics. The paper is Lawn Fawn and the die is IO. I just added a few sequins for bling.

Winter

Winter is here now. Where was spring? I'm already tired of the cold weather. It's so much colder already than what is normal for Indy. I don't like it.

I wanted to enter Bonnie's choice in the CAS Mix Up card challenge with an embossing folder. I tried three different panels that currently live in the trash can before I got this card. It is using a Cuttlebug e/f, a PSX stamp and Copics. The coloring on the holly doesn't show up very well.  I added red gems from a package that says Rhinestone Stickers! I wish I had embossed on white card stock but, as you can see, I didn't.
