Happy Race Day

Indy is the place to be today if you're a race fan. All the excitement, hoopla and people are amazing. and you can't help but be caught up in it. Listening to the race on the radio is what we do here in town because of the blackout and it is so cool. The announcers get so excited and so do we. Then we can watch it on TV and even though you know who won it's still exciting to see them cross that finish line.

My granddaughter was in town last week and last Sunday we had lunch and she brought me flowers. I was so surprised and I made this card for her. The flowers were pink with dark pink centers and this was as close as I could come. The frame is Waffle Flower mounted on a Simon Says embossed Vine Canopy panel. The paper is Alexandra Renke. I embossed a white thank you on black c/s but I didn't want to cover up the flowers so I'll just stamp thank you inside.

New die

I haven't been making cards lately but I wanted to use my new Spellbinders die Elegant Edges Lace. Using squeezed lemonade and salty ocean DOX inks and blending brushes I inked a panel to use under the die cut panel. Using the same squeezed lemonade I inked a bit of c/s with ink then die cut the Penny Black Winter Branch and adhered it to the front of the card. The sentiment is Gerda Steiner.

Granddaughter's birthday

I'm still working with my computer and it's getting there. Some things will never be back and that's okay.  It's just like when you move - you get rid of things you no longer want. I just didn't know I didn't want them!

This card is for my granddaughter's birthday. She is such a dog lover and has two, along with a cat and two birds. I used blending brushes to make the background, then embossed it with a Darice e/f of puppy prints. The panel was die cut with a die from Gina Marie. The puppy is Simon Says stamp and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession cut in black glossy Tonic cardstock.

Thank you for your patience

I'm back! You can't get rid of me that easy! I have been getting things back and some I've just lost. If that wasn't enough, my cell phone had to be replaced six days after my computer and, of course, I lost some things from it too.  You would think in this day and age you could press a button and the whole thing would transfer intact. Nope.

I am showing you a card I made before all this happened and I haven't made one since. I do plan on getting back in the groove this week. This card used DOX inks with blending brushes for the background. The acetate leaves are from 49 and Market and the die is a Memory Box Chloe Stem cut in yellow cardstock. I used the same cardstock for the greeting from Your Next Stamp.

My favorite flavor of cake is More.

No card today

I'm making a quick post today for an update. Last week my computer conked out and I now have a new one. My old one had windows 10 and this has windows 11. It does not, more the most part, recognize me no matter where I go. The store "transferred" my information to the new computer but it is not there. I lost my people, places, FB and Instagram. I've made four trips back to the store for help. The tech guy worked so hard to get things back for me but all the information is very old. If anyone knows how to get Instagram back or who to call or where to go for help,  I would be thrilled if you let me know. I am slowly rebuilding it but it is hard to remember everything. I haven't been making any cards either. I'll be back to visit as soon as I find you.

This joke seemed appropriate for me right now. We can't lose our sense of humor even though I would like to scream. (I did at one point).

This card should be delivered by now to my blogging friend for her birthday. I used a different image from my Concord & 9 die set for this card. I added patterned paper to the edges and also for the tiny heart on the boot. I am in love with the little flowers that came in this set. The panel is embossed with a die from Pinkfresh called Slim Stitches.

I heard the government is putting chips in people. I hope I get tortilla chips.

A gift

I have a quick story to share. We got the robo vacuum running. Daisy's dishes are metal. She was in the living room with us and the robo was sweeping. It went in the kitchen and ran into her bowls and they clanged. She took off like a shot to the kitchen!  I don't know if she thought robo was eating her food or giving her some but she hurried to check it out.

One of my dearest friends sent this paintbrush die from Spellbinders to me. This card describes my feelings for her as she does color my world. I smooshed three colors on my palette and flicked it on the panel and the bristles. I used a scrap pattern paper to choose the colors. The frame die is Penny Black and the sentiment from Lawn Fawn  is stamped in the same three colors. I will add this card to mynbus.

Edited to add: I am also playing at die-cut-divas.
