Another gorgeous day here after the tail end of Alberto came through. Just a rain storm that we really needed. When I saw the challenge at http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/ week #442 using sunflowers I wanted to play but didn't think I would have time. The rain kept me indoors so I was able to make my card. It is a Gina Marie sunflower die and a Stampin Up sentiment. I cut the leaves with a Spellbinder die and added a few sequins. I sponged color on the die and cut a circle of brown card stock under the center. Be kind to one another.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone. It is hot and humid here but I was out and about. THEN, I did my first Brusho card that I liked. It is courtesy of Loll. She posted a video  here by Leonie Schroder that shows an easy technique for using them. I told Loll that all my Brusho cards look like blobs. I really like this card. It uses Brushos sprinkled in an embossing folder. I used sea green and lemon. Thank you Loll and Leonie for sharing this. I used an Anna Griffin embossing folder and the tulips are Penny Black.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle. I think I am too heavy handed when I sprinkle Brushos on and then use too much water. I will keep trying as practice makes perf  better.

My thoughts are with the people in Ellicott, MD and all those in the path of Alberto. I hope he fizzles out before he does any damage. Also for residents of Hawaii in the path of the volcano. So much destruction. Be kind to one another.

Thank you for your comments on our school shooting. The brave teacher is out of the hospital but the little girl shot is still in the hospital. What a terrible thing and I hope there is a solution soon.

The people are streaming into the Indpls. Motor Speedway this morning. It really is an exciting time in our city. No matter where you are you run into people who are here for the race and they are so friendly. It is suppose to be the hottest race we have ever had. That's hard on the drivers, cars and the fans. They have stations all around the track for everyone that are just mini hospitals and also cooling stations. I hope it is a safe race.

This card is just one I made for no reason. The sentiment is Technique Tuesday stamped in black and embossed with clear embossing powder and I don't know where the background die came from. It has an oval in the center that I covered up with the universe. It was made by using Gansai Tambi Starry Colors blue gold and white gold. I mixed them with water and used a paintbrush to put them on a block, then splattered on black card stock. Then I used a scalloped Spellbinders die to cut it out and add to the die cut. The little black star was in a plastic bottle with no label. I managed to smear the sentiment before I got it embossed. Just one of the hazards of cardmaking!  Be kind to one another.

We have had a school shooting at a school in the county just north of us. One teacher and one student as we know now. My heart is in my throat as I listen to the news and tears as you hear from scared parents on the way to pick up their children. Pray for them please.

It has been another busy week for me. I've gone from staying in to doing two things a day! Now that it has warmed up I'm ready to do things. My friend and I went to see Book Club yesterday and there were only the first two rows of seats available so we didn't stay. Now that you can reserve seats online and the recliners have gone in it is hard to just go to the movies. If it is held over we will reserve seats next week.

This is a fun card with such bright colors I'm sharing today. It was made in a SU class. I love the happy colors together. Be kind to one another.

Okay, I teared up and outright cried several times during the Royal Wedding. What love in their eyes for each other and how sweet the wedding was.  I can't believe I wasn't invited. Oh yeah, I don't have a fascinator. Thanks to Liz at  http://crafty-lizc.blogspot.com/ for the correct spelling.

Here is another birthday card. This is created by measuring and making a template for the squares and sponging in DI. Then I stamped the flowers and stems from Clearly Besotted and added a sentiment from PTI.  I added a few seqins and that was that. Be kind to one another and keep love alive.

I hope you had a wonderful Sunday with your loved ones. I got to spend time with my sons and we had a great time. They have such a good sense of humor and we laugh and laugh when we are together.

While I'm on an orange kick I thought I would show you this card. It is an older stamp from Endless Creations. They come to the Heirloom Craft Show every year but I didn't go this year. I love their stamps and they offer them in so many sizes. I just added some ribbon and sequins. The sentiment is from Wplus9, also an older set. I'm trying to spread the love around. Be kind to one another.

This was a busy week and I ate out four of the last five days! I also returned to rehab to work out two days a week. I feel like it helped me so much that I need to continue the exercise so I started back Thursday.

I finally got to make my cards for the 5th Twofer Card Challenge cards today. The butterflies are from a sheet of pattern paper and a die from Dare 2B Artzy . I love the pattern on them. The first card has just a slit for the butterfly to slide through as you open the card. I also added vellum under the butterfly to give movement. The second card is the same butterfly mounted inside my new Tattered Lace doily edge essential squares die that came yesterday. The sentiment is from a PTI  set called Script Sentiments. I sponged some Distress Inks for a sky background. Be kind to one another.

We have a beautiful day today and I am so happy. It has been warmer for the last week and I'm loving it. Finally. My granddaughter came last night and took me out to dinner since she can't be here on Mother's Day. I am so lucky to have such a great family.

I have a new stamp set from Stampin Up that I made this butterfly with. It is called Watercolor Wings and is so pretty. Having the Misti or one of the stamping positioner tools really helps get this in the right place since it is a layered set.  Be kind to one another.

Another birthday card for May. SU tree and ribbon. The color is so fresh and pretty and it reminds me of spring so it's perfect for this time of year. This is a very simple card and quick to make. I love those kind! Be kind to one another.

Happy May Day. This year is flying by so fast! Thank you all for the nice comments about my family. They are pretty cool. My card today is from a SU set that we made in class. I love the colors and how the inside was finished off. It was a set that was used for Easter cards but I am using it as a birthday card. Be kind to one another.
