Smooshing with cling wrap

This months Group of Seven Card Makers are smooshing with cling wrap. I invite you to visit and check out all the beautiful cards they have shown.

For my cards I chose to use acrylic paints applied with a paint brush. The paper used is Strathmore Mixed Media and the paint went on so smoothly. Then using a piece of cling wrap larger than the cardstock, I smooshed it and crumpled it up in the wet paint to add the texture. Let it dry completely, then remove the cling wrap. The cardstock did curl a bit when it dried. The snowflake is from a friend that I cut in silver mirror cardstock. The tag is from Lexi-Design. I did add ribbon from Stampin' Up and glossy accents to the flame.  The sentiments on both cards are from Penny Black.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

Be kind to one another.

gorgeous soft effect using the acrylic paints and love that tag- it's so pretty.
There are so many products you can use with this technique, I now have to pull out my acrylic paints :)

I have not tried acrylic paints with this technique and I see that I need to after seeing your lovely creations Brenda! Such pretty colors used as well - love your snowflake, candle image and lovely sentiments too! Julia xx

Two beautiful cards, Brenda. I love your colors choices on both cards and especially how you used the pretty Christmas tag on your 2nd card. Your backgrounds for your cards turned out beautifully, my friend. TFS Love and Hugs...Nancy

These are dreamy results, Brenda, and your designs fit them perfectly. You have the best sediments! I love the candle with the pretty ribbon the best! It makes the background look like parchment paper. Great joke! Hugs, Darnell

Beautiful cards Brenda. I don't think I've tried cling wrap and smooshing using acrylic paints. I love how your backgrounds turned out, so I'm looking forward to giving it a try. We learn so much from each other. :) Love, Loll

That looks like a fun technique to try and both cards turned out quite lovely in different colors. That sparkly snowflake really catches your eye and the candle on the 2nd card looks so peaceful too!

Pretty cards. That smooshing technique makes lovely background. I especially like the candle one. It looks like the candle is lit and making the pattern.

I haven't tried the cling wrap technique with acrylic paints but I will do after seeing your results, Brenda. I especially love the soft colours of the second card - the background goes so perfectly with the image!
