I want to wish Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there. I hope you get to spend a fantastic day with your children and family. I am going to my son's along with the family for the day. It is only 54 degrees now with a high of 63 and possible thunderstorms later. Very gray and overcast. We always sit outside on the deck or patio so that may be impossible today. Oh well, we'll get to play games and just hang out instead.
My heart goes out to Canada right now with the fires they are having. Such an immense fire and doing so much damage. It is not even started to be contained and that is scary.
Today's card is for one of the birthdays I have coming up. I used some pattern paper again. That makes me so happy. I did go about it backwards though. I colored the flowers first then had to go hunt some paper that would go with it. I have so much pattern paper and I've given so much of it away. I think it multiplies in the closet. I believe that's how plaid is made. It starts out with just one color, then gets together with other papers in the stack and next thing you know - plaid! But, I digress. The point is I'm trying to integrate pattern paper into my very plain cards. So I'm happy with this card today. I've finished the Clear and Sheer online class and the wrap up day had a couple of things I want to try. It will be at least Tuesday before I can get going so that is something to look forward to. Be kind to one another.

I'm so glad you explained how plaid is made as I can never find any. I wil just throw all the plains in together and see what happens., lol. I must admit that is how I do my cards . Design the image first and then go in search of papers to match. I do like your colour combo here. Enjoy Your Mother's Day. We had ours back in March hugs Mrs A.
This is so gorgeous!! I love the beautiful flowers and the paper!! LOL - plaid ;) I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day with your family!! Big hugs :)

Very pretty card, Brenda! You gave me a laugh with the explanation of plaid--you may just be right! Hope your family day was filled with joy & that the weather wasn't too bad. We cooled down 20 degrees today--lots of clouds & lovely fresh air with only a few sprinkles. Hoping to work through some of the classes this week.
Oh, so that is how the pattern paper multiplies..good explanation! Well, now it is nearly 8 PM here, so I assume you are home for the night! I had a busy weekend. I had a mother's day luncheon and my younger daughter and granddaughter came to it, I sold some cards there. then Sunday I got up at 5:30 and my husband and I drove a little more than an hour south for my granddaughters last day of her last tournament for the season! We stopped at Red Robin on the way home and had my other daughter and her family meet us so we could all share the Mother's day together (without me cooking!!). Needless to say I have not had any more time to watch the videos for the Online class, Linda and I watched a couple days but that was all the time we had...no time to play. Looking forward to doing some of that this week. but now that the weather is nice there is yard work to do...and I get guilty when I am inside on nice days!! I like your card and the plaid you used behind it...perfect match! will talk to you later...have a good week!
Heart Hugs, Colleen
What a beautiful card Brenda! I love the soft colors, love that stamp as well. Your pattern paper is perfect to go with these flowers, I wouldn't have found the perfect piece of paper if I had colored first, so I'm amazed and in awe that you did. Thanks for explaining how plaid paper comes to be!!! lol I think you are right about the papers getting together and multiplying!
I'm glad you had a good day out and was with your kids for Mother's Day. It was nice and sunny here, but the wind was awful, blowing so hard that we couldn't be outside either. It was cool too, but think it would have felt warmer had the wind not been blowing so hard. I too, feel so bad for the people of Canada, some have lost so much because of those fires, which are so scary. I sure hope that something changes and they can get it under control soon. Hugs, Brenda
Great choice with the plaid patterned paper. Love your focal image...so pretty! So happy we were able to do lunch today!
I think you've hit on a theory about our pattern paper multiplying (not that I go out and buy it!). I do my coloring the same way. I don't pick card stock, then color. Your image is colored beautifully, and the stripe pattern behind the image is just perfect. Very pretty card. Hope you got to enjoy the Mom's Day and whatever you all were doing, I'm sure it was lovely for all of you. Hugs
What a lovely card Brenda! Those flowers are so pretty with the paper making a perfect frame. I did giggle at how plaid is created :-)

I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day despite the temps and weather.

This is lovely, Brenda! You did a fantastic job with your coloring and with going backwards and finding the right pp! I had a good snortle imagining your story of how plaid is made! You karack me up! I hope you're having a good week and feeling more chipper!! Love and hugs, Darnell
What pretty flowers! I know what you mean about paper multiplying. I'm sure I didn't buy that much. Wish it would make some pretty plaids though. I might use that!
