Thank you all for your uplifting comments last week. I had lots of phone calls all day Friday and that was so nice. I didn't go to my sons after all. I just couldn't go. This anniversary was harder than Thanksgiving and Christmas. Maybe because we were all together as a family for both occasions and this was me alone. Also, lots of hustle and bustle on both previous holidays.  I did shed some tears but I was okay and am okay now. It was just a hard first.

I'm posting pictures of my granddaughter before the dance. The first one is her and her brother and the next is her. I'm thinking that with that pose she is watching too much America's Next Top Model! I can't show you the others because of all the kids in the pictures and I don't have permission to post their pictures. She had a good time, danced some and they went out to eat afterwards. So, first dance a success.

I'm also posting a picture of what happens when you drop an ink pad on your leg. Molly was very interested in it but I think she thought it was food. Here she is sniffing both legs to be sure.

Be kind to one another.

  1. One day at a time is all you can do. I know it must have been such a difficult day & I'm glad you're doing OK. Your grandkids are darling, Brenda. Glad to see your stamping helper is on the job--haha!

  2. Sorry I've been a bit remiss in commenting Brenda but I have been reading blog posts. Just seem to have been a bit busy lately. Your anniversary must have been difficult for you, so pleased you got through it ok with just a few tears, sending you big hugs! So glad your granddaughter enjoyed her dance too. I bet your little helper didn't get the ink out of your trousers though, however much she licked them!

  5. Oh I hate when that happens...good thing you weren't wearing WHITE!! I am wondering what "flavor" the ink was, Molly sure is interested in your new stain!! Glad you got through another milestone...each one is hard and that is normal...glad you have Molly, your kids and of course cards to keep you busy!! Have a fun weekend!! My granddaughter is getting confirmed on Sunday and we have three birthdays we are celebrating with all the family on Sunday afternoon!! Heart Hugs!

  6. LOvely pictures, and what a beautiful young lady you have to watch grow up. I'm glad that you made it through the 'day' pretty well. I know it must have been difficult for you, but now you know you CAN manage. Tears are ok, they are healing. YOu were a team for a long, long time. Yuck on the ink stains too. On the bright side, at least you didn't drop it on your card!!! (LOL, I've done that!). Hugs.

  7. Oh my goodness, what beautiful grandchildren you have Brenda! Your granddaughter is just delightful and so beautiful. The boys will be after her! And her brother is just as handsome as they come! What a heart breaker he is! You are a lucky grandma Brenda. Oh goodness, you really got ink on your jeans and Molly is very curious about it. lol She must have thought it was something yummy. I'm glad you got through your anniversary Brenda, I had a really hard time with mine too. I agree with you about it being harder than Christmas. It was for me too, I think it is because it is a personal (just you and your spouse) thing that is just between you and your sweetheart. sigh, It is just hard going on with life when you don't have the love of your life with you anymore. Life goes on, but...it is harder. I feel lost a lot of the time. Who am I know that I'm not a wife anymore, you know? I guess one day I will figure it out but for now, I'm still feeling somewhat lost. I think of you often Brenda. Keeping you in my prayers my friend. Hugs, Brenda
