I hope this is the last sympathy card I need to make. This is for my daughter in law. I used gold embossing powder over vellum. Then attached it to a light blue card base. My heat gun was really hot but the vellum still warped and it just wouldn't glue down in some places. What do you use to attach vellum to cardstock? I used my connect glue since it dries clear and held it down forever but it still buckled. Thanks for any help on this.

Beautiful card. So sorry you have needed so many sympathy cards. But a sad fact of life at our age. I have that problem with vellum warping too. I use Scrapbook Adhesive clear mounting squares. They are only half size of the regular ones and don't show. I got them at Hobby Lobby
So sorry you needed to make another sympathy card, but that's part of life. This turned out beautiful and shows no sign of warping in the photo. I don't use vellum to be able to give advice, but it really looks beautiful!
Sympathy cards are always hard, I'm sure the recipient will love the thought and the card ♥

Beautiful CAS Brenda. I rarely use vellum, but I have seen cards with a brad in each corner to hold the vellum in place. xx
Such a beautiful CAS sympathy card Brenda x. I steer away from heating vellum but it does look so pretty x.
So sorry you have to make another sympathy card, Brenda. But it is a part of life. Embossing on vellum is a great idea and it looks very elegant. The problems with wrapping by heat embossing on vellum are well known to me. To avoid them and to hide the glue I usualy wrap the card base with vellum and glue it on the back.
Really pretty and elegant sympathy card, Brenda. I'm sure your DIL and family will appreciate the love that went into making it. Vellum is tough to keep from warping. I usually make mine wider than my card front, wrap it around to the back and secure with tape. Doesn't work if you are adding it as a topper to a card base, but if you have a separate card front, it helps. xx
This is such a classy and elegant sympathy card, Brenda! It seems impossible to keep vellum from warping. I like using a frame mounted over the vellum. There's still sometimes some warping, but it holds it down pretty good. I hope you don't need another sympathy card for a long time!

So beautiful, Brenda. I know your daughter in law appreciated it. I have the same problem embossing vellum, so tend not to do big pieces. I've heard you can flatten it by running it through a laminator. Haven't tried it.

When vellum buckles it is so tough to glue down. I usually try to use a frame to cover some of the adhesive. 🤷🏻♀️
