Back on track

My freak out is over. I believe I got so scared is because I'm not used to thinking like what we need to think of now when we go out. Wear mask, use hand sanitizer and stay six feet away. The first time out is traumatizing. I've only been to the grocery to pick up groceries I've ordered online and that's all. Now that I know what to do, I'm okay. Still not going out, though. Thanks for helping me through it, my sweet friends.

To those who ask about the toilet paper card, I cut a plastic straw into 1/2 inch segments , then cut strips of napkins the same width. I put glue on the straw and ends of napkins and glued them and rolled them on the straw. Then a bit of glue on the back of the rolled napkin and attached to card base. They are more for hand delivered cards since they are hard to mail. Edited to add: I found where I saw that card made and hers are so cool. http://buildingyourworld.blogspot.com/2020/04/toilet-paper-quarantine-card.html.

The card today is one I will share at CASstencil.blogspot.com/. I used Distress Ink through a Neat and Tangled two piece balloon stencil. Then I used a Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts stencil over the balloons and a blender pen with Catherine Pooler Fiesta Blue ink to make the little hearts.  The sentiment is Hero Arts. Turns out I'm not good making the streamers and I'm sure there is a stamp for that that I don't have. Or maybe I do, I'll go look.

This challenge is having changes made to it. I love this stencil challenge and it has been fun to play along. The new on will be just as fun so check it out.

Be kind to one another.

Fantastic card Brenda and I love the little hearts inside the balloons. Precious!

Texas has pretty much opened up everything except bars now I think - and yet my kids still say I'm not going anywhere. I really think I'd be like you were and just scared to risk it. A terrible way to be but that's how it is right now. I just wonder what the new normal will even be now.

Love how you have layered and blended those balloons and what a neat idea to add the little hearts. I think your balloon strings are great. Sorry this virus thing has been getting to you, it is very unsettling. Thanks for joining us again at CAS Stencil xx

Your two-stenciled balloon birthday card is very colorful and festive, Brenda! I love that you chose tiny hearts for your added texture ~ shows the love that comes with the card! I'm so glad you are no longer freaking out! I think it's my turn now. I understand everyone being antsy, but what if the science is right? Isn't it going to be doubly depressing if everything has to close up AGAIN? Worrying days ahead, but thankfully we have our distracting and positive hobby and all our friends.

Happy Mother's Day! I'm so glad we are here to enjoy it, even if we can't be with our kids! Love and miss you! Darnell

Thanks for the info on how to make the toilet paper roll. I made some of the masks and they are too bulky to mail too. Fortunately the ones I made will be hand delivered to the ER staff. And you have done a fantastic job on the stenciled balloons! Such a festive card! Hope to see you at the new and improved CAS challenges. Take care and staying home as much as possible is still the best bet, I think.

Adorable card Brenda! I love your multi-coloured, overlapping balloons. The light touch with the inks makes them looks translucent. And those sweet little hearts are just adorable. Great birthday card!

So happy to hear that you are out and about (just a little), but it is with a lot less stress. Always good to have a plan in place. Take care my sweeet friend! Love, Loll

Glad you thought things through & are feeling better now, Brenda. I hadn't been in a building with people in 8 weeks as we didn't feel it was worth the risk at our age. We now have some surgical masks, so I ventured out to COSTCO during senior hrs after they changed to have everyone wear a mask. So glad we're in a small area. No lines, no crowds, 6 ft apart except for a couple seconds when I passed someone in an aisle & kept my head turned the other way. I hear if you go to stores not during senior hours you'll see a lot of people acting like everything is normal. We're not letting up our guard. This isn't over & we don't even know how bad it is yet--despite what bigshots may try to tell us. Stay safe, my friend! I do love your balloon card with all the pretty colors! Your strings look cute to me!

Oh, your layered stencil balloons are very pretty, Brenda!! Happy to hear that you are feeling better about things. It is a confusing time. One just has to do their best. I'm happy that we can pass the time with our card making and have fun in that way! Take care and Happy Mother's Day to you, hugs!!

Your balloons are so bright and your streamer stings are perfect! I read through your posts and I love your quarantine-influenced humor! That toilet paper roll and sentiment are hilarious! I'm glad you are feeling better about dealing with the situation. The first time I went out, I felt like I was cast in a poorly directed post-apocalypse movie. It's so good to get out of the house and just drive around. We have been taking Sunday drives to little unfamiliar towns. We usually find a pretty park and eat lunch there - usually just in the car with the windows rolled down. I think porch visits are also a great idea! I wish I could have that kind of visit with you right now! Take care, my dear friend, and happy Mother's Day!

Balloons just scream birthday to me! Love this fun card of layered stenciled balloons Brenda - so bright and colorful! Sorry you were so traumatized about going out - It is really easy - just keep your distance and face covered when you're out at a store - they say it is best to just stay in if you can. You can always just go for a drive in your car to get some air and new scenery - we are allowed to do that! The first time out is the scariest - glad you are over your fear! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Stencil! xx

Love your translucent beautiful balloons, Brenda. Stenciling them with tiny hearts was a brilliant idea. BTW...I thought your strings looked great! TFS your TP craft description too. I think staying home and safe as much as possible is still the safest for all of us. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful loving creative craft to share with others. So happy to hear you are feeling less worried, yet are still being safe. Take care my sweet and talented friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
