I'm thinking about all those in the blizzard and floods on the east coast and hope you are all safe and warm inside. We had some strong wind on Friday but that is all so I am grateful we didn't have snow again. My plan for cards this year is to use pattern paper. I have so much of it in 6 x 6 pads and 12 x 12 sheets that I need to use it. It's so hard to cut into it for a strip or to make an embellishment but I AM going to do it. You have my word. So to start I made my SIL's birthday card by using some. It isn't a lot but I had to use enough to cut a frame and the base of the butterfly. It wasn't too painful. The strip that I stamped the happy birthday on was a punchout in the back of the 6 x 6 pack. So, look at me go!! The black background is also a sheet from a 6 x 6 pad. It is very shiny. I think I said this last year too so I'm a little slow but I am going to use it up. Be kind to one another.

You know me by now to know that I love butterflies so I absolutely adore this card. Was watching the news last night showing all the blizzards and snow in America. glad to hear that you have escaped it. Stay safe. Hugs Mrs A.

This is just gorgeous, Brenda! You should make the picture a bit bigger in your post because when I clicked on it I could really see how wonderful it is! Gotta say, it felt wonderful to use my pp a few cards ago. I don't mind cutting it if I just know what to do with it so it doesn't end up in the trash. Using the one for the frame & butterfly is fabulous & the background one is really a wowzer! Glad you didn't get more snow. So pretty in pictures but not to get around in! Hugs, Greta
This is such a pretty card, love the dp Brenda. Glad to hear you didn't get more snow. It does look so pretty, on our news they showed a panda at a zoo having a ball in the snow, but it said millions of people were badly affected and had to stay indoors. I hope the weather improves for them, Cathy x
Glad that you only got the winds. We DID get some snow, but nothing like our Northern friends. To South Carolina, it was just an Exciting Big Deal. Fortunately we could stay inside & warm. I chuckled over the cutting into dp. (sounds like me as well). I admire your courage in this resolution, and it looks like you're off to a fine start. This is a very pretty card, love the butterfly, the framing and that wonderful blue of the DP. You go girl! This will be a year of challenge for you, and looks like you have met & conquered the first one!!! Well done You! TFS & Big hugs. Stay warm.
Good for you using up that paper. I need to do that too. I keep buying and not using. It's about to bury me! This turned out really pretty! Not painful at all.
Beautiful card Brenda!
I'm thinking of you!!
xx
Wow, when you click on the picture you really do get to see the beautiful color and shine! Gorgeous card, Brenda, so glad you are back at creating! And so glad that your weather is a little more tolerable (at the moment). Hope all is well and you are doing okay! Heart Hugs, Colleen
Gorgeous card Brenda! Like you I have lots of paper to use but doubt I'll ever get to the bottom of the pile!
Oh Brenda, this is a gorgeous card! I love the papers you have used, great job of cutting into them! The background paper is shiny and oh so beautiful, love it! I also love the soft colors in the frame and sentiment strip. Well done my friend and a fabulous birthday card. Hugs, Brenda
