Wow, have we had the storms roll through again. We had standing water in our sun porch. It soaked right through the concrete! Lots of close thunder and lightning. I'm showing you some pictures I took last night. The clouds went from the sky all the way to the ground in thickness, two side by side. They are dark so I don't know if you can see the clouds or not but they were scary.

My card today is for hubbys cousin. She fell carrying laundry down the stairs and broke her elbow. It will require having surgery several times and physical therapy. This will be a long painful process for her. I knew housework was hazardous to our health. I sponged some more Inka Gold on a Sizzix brick embossing folder. Added some flowers I had in my stash and some sequins. E/F and flowers are NBUS. I'm trying not to buy new things until I used all my other supplies. Hah. Of course, that won't happen because I would never in this lifetime be able to buy anything else. That would lead to depression so I will continue to try my best to keep stamp companies in business. Be kind to one another.

  1. Amazing and scary photos Brenda! I do so hope that your hubby's sweet cousin recovers fine from that dreadful fall - and I hate to say that you made me giggle about the 'housework being bad for us' crack :)

Fabulous card you made there - I owe you an email, life got a bit busy here but will be in touch ASAP. Keep smiling :)

  4. Hi Brenda, thanks, I will try not to worry about the eye surgery, I know you went through it too. Nope, never will use all the stamping stuff I have accumulated....whoever cleans up my mess will surely say I was a hoarder!!! Cute card too...I must try and case it for Hospice. Scary storms when they roll through.

  5. The biggest thunder & lightening storm I've ever been in was during a summer I spent in Indy at my grandma's--will never forget it! Glad you're safe & hope you get some decent weather soon! Beautiful card--I know she'll love it! You gave me a big laugh, Brenda! I'm not supposed to buy stuff either, but you're right--we have to stave off depression & keep those stamp companies going!

  6. I love your brick wall effect background. Have just been reading back on your posts so very pleased to hear that your getting some home help care at last for hubby. Feeling down today as had a phone call this morning to say a very dear family friend died yesterday form that very nasty motor nuron disease. She was 2 years younger than me and didn't quite make it to the 2nd Aug when it would have been their 40th wedding anniversary. So sad. Can't stop crying. Hugs Mrs A.

  7. Those dark skies & fearsome clouds did look so scary. I'm glad you didn't get anything but wet floors from it. Think this is one of the best cards you've done! (and that's saying something!). Love the effect of the colored & gilded brick texture with that brilliantly toned leaf flourish behind the pretty flower. THis is just beautiful. Well done!!! TFS & Happy Sunday. Hugs
