It actually happened. My home helper came yesterday. She got hubby to wash and dress, she washed his clothes and cleaned the hall bathroom. Mostly we sat and got acquainted and made a plan for hubby's care and the housecleaning. I've never had a housecleaner so I didn't really know what to tell them to do. We have worked out a schedule but she can only come on Mon. and Wed. A new lady will come tomorrow and she will be our Friday lady. I hope she is as nice as Faye was yesterday. She has taken care of her mom and another lady who both had dementia so she knew what to do and how to speak to him. He went right along with her and was very docile. I really thought that's what would happen. When he was in the hospital and just the two of us in the room, he kept saying he was leaving, they couldn't keep him there and on and on. When the nurse came in to look at his head, he was so sweet and nice to her!

I made today's card for my daughter in law. She is so sweet and makes my son so happy and is so wonderful with his kids and puts up with the ex. That takes a saint! It shows what a difference a simple little card can make. She said when she got home from work the day the card came, she had had such a hard day and was so tired. She said she cried when she got the card and it lifted her spirits so much. So you never know when you pop a card in the mail how happy it makes someone. Be kind to one another.

Oh Brenda! I'm so very happy for you that at last you have some help. Here's hoping it all goes well - and don't you be running round doing housework before the ladies arrive for their stint either.

Hugs

Di xx

Glad to hear that you now have a home helper and she is knowledgeable and likeable!
Sending a card shows you care, and when the card is one that you made it makes it even more special.

How happy reading this post tonight has made me. I'm so thankful and relieved that you've got the home helper situation sorted and that it's going to work out for both of you. You need the relief from all the caretaking. I'm also pleased that Mr. is going along & being sweet. He will enjoy having some one new to listen to his stories too, and if the person knows just how to work well with him, that's all to the good! Loved your sweet card. It's wonderful that you can appreciate how good your DIL is for your son & his children. You are a good MIL to recognize this, and let your DIL know how much you care. TFS & Hugs.

You are truly an angel, Brenda. With all you have going on, you take the time to send a card to your DIL and make her cry with happiness! You are always thinking of others! Your card for her is beautiful and I'll bet your words were beautiful, too!

I'm so tickled to read that you got home help! WHAT?! The power of prayer! I am crossing my fingers and continuing to pray that today's lady worked out as well as Faye did! Continued blessings to you, my friend! And thank you for your lovely comment today about seeing my smile on the boys' faces. That was a neat way to put it and it made me happy!! Big Hugs, Darnell

Brought tears to my eyes reading this post, Brenda. It's so true that just knowing someone appreciates us can make us able to cope with a difficult time & no better way than a handmade card. This one is beautiful & so perfect for your DIL--I know she treasures it! I am overjoyed that the lady was good with your hubby & can provide what you need! Enjoy it & take care of yourself!

I am so happy that you are getting the help you so desperately needed Brenda!! I'm glad Faye knows how to work with hubby and how to talk to him. I'm really glad that he is liking her as well, that is a big load off one's mind! I hope your Friday lady is just as lovely. I love too that they will do some housework and even cooking. What a load off your mind my friend. My hubby is the same way when it comes to saying one thing, but doing another when the people he is fussy about is in the room. And he doesn't have any dementia! lol I'm so glad you could life your DIL's spirits with this beautiful card Brenda. I know first hand it isn't easy dealing with an Ex! And I know first hand how it is raising another woman's children, even though you love them like they are your own. It can be tough, and it sounds like your DIL is a saint! It was so sweet of you, and so you, to send her this beautiful card. You are such a great MIL! Hugs, Brenda
