CAS Mix Up challenge.

My goal this year
2021 will be the year I learn to water color. I see cards that are water colored and they are beautiful. Water color is forgiving, not like markers. You can go outside the lines and it looks lovely. Markers, not so much. This card is done by a suggestion from my friend, Darnell. I colored the stamp and spritzed with water, then stamped. It has a watercolor look and I do like it. I also have more tips from Darnell and also another sweet friend, Kara. So this is my goal. I will be working on this in the coming days and we'll see how it goes.

Lovely, lovely. Did you use water color paper? I have been thinking of doing this, even bought a water color set with lots of colors. As soon as things settle down here, I shall try it also. Husband has been in the hospital 7 days...no not covid.

Inking your stamp then spritzing with water gives a lovely artsy look to your cards. You'll be hooked in no time!

Well you are certainly getting tips from two awesome teachers! Your card is so very pretty, that technique is forgiving, but it looks marvelous, so I don't think there is much to forgive. Your card is gorgeous, Brenda. The technique you've used is very effective. I tend to keep away from watercolouring, I'm not sure why it scares me! LOL! Perhaps I should put it on my list of things to master in 2021. xx

Beautiful Brenda. I'm like you I love watercolour and would love to do a watercolour class to learn some techniques. Your card is so pretty (you just haven't realized you can watercolour), I love that loose effect when you spritz the stamp.

I’ve had this same goal for years, but haven’t focussed on it. I keep buying watercolor supplies π thinking that will force me to learn and practice. π Well, we all know what happens to our NBUS pile! π

Beautiful flower. I keep forgetting about the coloring on the stamp and spritizing. I love the softness of that technique.
Oh, how lovely! Beautiful flower for your wonderful card! Great tips I’m sure from two sweet teachers! I, too, wish to do more water coloring and use my alcohol inks more. I have to write notes to myself to use neglected supplies, lol!
That sounds like a great goal and it seems you are off to a great start. This is a beautiful card you made with the spritzing on a direct to stamp coloring.
You picked the perfect artsy tulip stamp for this technique and I think it worked like gangbusters, Brenda! Other stamps that work beautifully for this technique are any solid Penny Black flower stamps. I especially love the brushstroke series. And, getting back to your pretty Hello card, great job on the schplatters! (Two days without anxiety and I don't know what to do with myself!!) Love, Darnell
Your flower does look beautifully watercolored, Brenda:-) I finally became comfortable with watercoloring images when I got a set of 48 Zigs, 3 or 4 years ago. They have a paint brush type end unlike markers and work great with a water brush to move the paint around if you want a lighter image. Dolly's tips are great too. TFS your beauty.
