I wish I could share our low temps with those in the west experiencing such high heat. It has been in the mid to high 40's in the morning and highs in the 60's during the day. I feel so terrible for those in the fires and hurricanes. This is an awful time for the U.S. right now.

I made this card at a SU class. My next door neighbor hauls my empty trash can up my driveway every week and I used this card to enclose a gift card for him. He is in his 80's and lost his wife last year and is at such loose ends. It seems to be harder for men to lose their wives first as some are so helpless. He doesn't cook or clean and can't drive any longer and depends on his son in law to take him to Dr. and grocery. He is such a nice person with a big family but only one daughter lives here and works full time. One of his grandsons is in a sit-com in California. I'm so lucky to have my sons here in town.  Well, did I ramble or what! Be kind to one another.

Perfect man card, Brenda! What a sweetheart he is! We keep saying if only they could figure out how to funnel the rain from the east to the west! Feeling so sad for all the people displaced & feeling lucky we just have smoke without flames too close. Hard to imagine your cool temps! Big hugs, Greta

Very sweet card. My mom has a neighbor who brings her trash cans down to the street and then back up when empty. How nice that people help each other. I'm sure he will appreciate your wonderful card.

What a lovely thing to do for your helpful neighbor, Brenda! He will cherish your awesome thank you card and even though your sons are close by, I'm so glad he is there to help you! It is sadder somehow to see widowers than widows, now that you mention it. Now don't go offering to do his cooking and cleaning in exchange for his help with the trash can!

I, too, wish we could have some of your cool temps! I noticed it will be warmer than that next week in Iowa so I assume you will warm up again, too. When is Indian Summer anyway? I've forgotten after all these years. Are you surprised to hear me say that I don't mind when you ramble?! Hugs, Darnell
