Winter has returned for a brief visit this weekend. It's been such a strange winter with up and down temps. We even had a teeny little bit of snow yesterday morning. Friday it was 74 degrees! Friday was also my next door neighbors birthday. He is in his 80's and doesn't really do much so I went with a simple birthday card. It was inspired by Kristina Werner's card last week only she added vellum balloons and I didn't do that. I didn't have anything she used so I used a Simon Says balloon stamp and Mama Elephant pigment inks. I drew the strings with a marker. I used the little star in the set to make confetti and used two colors of Nuvo Drops to add a little glitter. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I added a few turquoise sequins. The card would not lay flat so that is my bone folder holding it closed. Be kind to one another.

Wonderful card, Brenda--great use of Kristina's inspiration! I noticed your crazy weather! We got a few little snowflakes Friday & might get some Monday--not enough to matter, but sure feels cool & damp! Today we're on the look out for a thunderstorm, so good day to stay inside & make cards!
That is a really pretty card Brenda, I'm sure your neighbour will love it. It seems to be getting more springlike here, the daffodils are coming out, always a good sign, but today has been damp and drizzly.
This is so beautiful, Brenda!! The balloons are fabulous!! I love the star confetti!! It has been strange weather...the 70's totally spoiled me. I was not happy at Mother Nature yesterday with the snow and frigid temps!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

I love how you stamped the balloons and used the little star to make confetti, very effective and colourful!
Beautiful card Brenda, bet your neighbor loved this, love the balloons and colours.
We have crazy weather here in the UK too.

Weather has been horrible here in the UK too over the past few days. Love your balloon card. The colours are really pretty. Hugs Mrs A.
I think the weather has been crazy all over the world Brenda. But I will say I prefer the warmer temps! lol Brrr, a 30 degree difference is hard to take isn't it?! Love, love, love this festive card Brenda! Those balloons are fabulous-love the shape of these balloon stamps, need to see if I can find them. Was the confetti stars a die or stamp? I just love them and I bet your neighbor loved this card too! I can't remember if I watched that video by KW, will have to go look now. Stay warm my friend! Hugs, Brenda
We're having spring weather most days, but you get used to the warm, then it gets a bit chilly again. Love the transparency on the balloon coloring...really good work there. Love the simple design, yet lots of color & sparkle. He will love it! Stay cozy. TFS & Hugs
This is such a fun and happy card! Love your beautiful balloons and all of the confetti!
A clever card Brenda, isn't it grand that you can take an idea you've seen and make it your own wiht your own stash used. Happy card and am sure it made the gentleman smile on his birthday.
I want to say a big thank you dear Brenda, for popping over to my DT post too, your kindness is really appreciated!
Thanks for sharing your inspiration!
