Help Me Dog Lovers

You know that phrase "When things get back to normal"? I keep saying it but things aren't back to normal. We have a new normal. The latest news is from our dog, Molly. Tuesday it rained here. She came in from outside and had wet feet. She was running and hit the plastic mat in the stamp room and flew across the room. I don't know what she ran into because it was so fast but she started screaming or yelping. I knew she was hurt. We went immediately to the vet and he said she has torn her patella ligament. After it happened she was right back to normal with a little limp. By evening that was gone and she is now running, scratching and jumping on the couch. She is to go Tuesday to the emergency vet to see if she needs surgery. For all you dog lovers out there - help me. Does she need surgery? I don't want her to be in pain (which doesn't seem to be the case) or to be crippled. So far she is acting like she always has and doesn't yelp or cry or seem to favor her leg. I just don't want to put her through that if it's not necessary. Thanks for your help.

This card was a quickie so I could get it in the mail for grandson. This is one of the new Darice embossing folders I got at the Heirloom show along with the stamp set from Sweet Stamps. I thought it was good for a guy. The greens all look so wonky in the picture, but they do look good together IRL. Be kind to one another.

Love your card - the embossing folder is gorgeous! The green pops out against the white background.

We've never had a dog, so can't offer any advice. Hope you get the right advice and Molly gets the best treatment. xx

Poor Molly....if you have an appointment with the emergency vet to see if she needs surgery...maybe by now she may not need it. She sounds back to normal....whatever that may be. If you know where the soreness is maybe lay warm rag or heating pad there. Give her half a baby asprin if she is in pain. Sounds to me she is okay...but then some dogs have a high tolerance for pain. Maybe the emergency doctor will see no need for surgery, that can be pretty expensive. Don't know if I was any help. I tend to wait and see.

Cute card, I like that shamrock folder. :)

Oh, poor Molly. I'm not sure what I would do. I guess I would see what the vet has to say. If she doesn't act like she is in pain, maybe it's just a sprain.

What a cute card!! I love the shamrock embossing!! The sentiment is fabulous!! Have a great evening :)

What a neat embossing folder & great card, Brenda! We went through the doggie equivalent of torn ACL surgery for Keesha. However, a friend decided not to do it & from what I can tell their dog has adjusted & done just fine. A few years after Keesha's surgery she still occasionally held up the one leg so we had a consult with a different surgeon. He was honest enough to say it might not make any difference & we didn't have it done. We were so glad we hadn't put her through that surgery. I don't know how old Molly is, but if we faced it again the age would be a big part of our decision. They told us Keesha would develop arthritis if we didn't do the surgery, but dogs are so adaptable I'd have to think long & hard before I'd go through it again with a dog older than 5, unless my dog was obviously in pain or unable to function--then, of course, I'd be signing up for surgery! Might be worth asking your vet if you really need the consult or could you wait & see if she continues to have no disability or obvious pain. Good luck. I hold my breath every time hubby & Fritz play "racetrack" through the house--LOL!

Oh, goodness, Brenda, I'm sorry to hear about the latest escapade there! Poor Molly! It sure sounds like she is none the worse and everything has healed already, doesn't it? I hope she doesn't need surgery. I love your new e/f and the fab St. Paddy's card you've made for GS!! Hugs, Darnell

Gosh, I think your greens & white look just great. Love the simplicity of your design, but the green fairly pops against that crisp white. Very St. P indeed. Hugs

Oh my goodness, I'm sorry to hear about Molly's accident! I sure hope she doesn't need the surgery. Our Pockets hurts her legs and limps often because she "springs" off them so fast. But so far she hasn't had to go to the vet or have any surgeries. I pray that Molly hasn't had to either! I will have to play catch up fast to find out. Your card is fabulous Brenda and I love that cute sentiment. I bet your grandson loved it! Big hugs, Brenda
